Clean, tidy and comfortable
Advertising free parking but only on street, nearly €20 to park on tiny car park if you could get on

The location is excellent. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The parking is a big advantage as is the excellent restaurant.

The two most amazing things about this hotel are its location and its restaurant. It is located steps away from the heart of town, from the castle and other historic sights, and from the university. Its restaurant is outstanding! Superb! The rooms are comfortable. The staff is lovely. A homey environment with a world-class restaurant.

Nice room very quiet with all the expected features.
The hotel has limited parking however the plus is that it is in the midde of the city.
The resturant was busy but excellent.
Not much.

The meal in the restaurant was very good and the breakfast buffet was more than we needed. We had parking and found the place quite easily.
The swimming pool in the spa was smaller than hoped and came at an extra charge, so we decided not to swim after all. It was harder to find our way back out of the city from the hotel than to find our way in!

Wonderfully helpful front desk; pleasant and cheerful.
The room we had was nothing like the pictures we saw on the site; it was worn and long overdue for new decoration. The shower leaked all over the place as it had no door. I was glad we were only there for one night and would not return.

Excellent buffet breakfast and very helpful staff.
Rooms were very warm. Linens on the bed included a comforter despite 75 deg f in the room. Way too warm a blanket for the conditions.

Location
The “double” room is extremely small, and most of the listed square meters are actually taken up by the corridor inside the room. The bed, which is supposed to be a double, is very narrow, making it impossible for two people to rest at all. The carpet in the room is sticky and extremely dirty. The view from the window is just a wall of another building, so the room is always dark.

Warm welcome. Parking is not easy; so make sure you reserve a place in advance. I did - and always had a space (but it is a tight squeeze!! Room was pleasant and had sufficient power points. Bed was comfortable. Water was always hot. I went for the buffet breakfast and was not disappointed. Lots of choice including freshly made scrambled egg. I didn't use the pool/spa on this visit. But I had done so before and enjoyed the experience. Check-out (at midday) was smooth and efficient. Overall, an enjoyable stay which I look forward to repeating.
A shame that the restaurant was closed for a summer break (I missed it by one night!). The displayed menu looked interesting however. I will try to make sure that it is open on my next visit.

well run hotel with excellent staff
i think the carpet in the room needs cleaning and with modern wet/dry cleaners its easily possible

When we checked out, we mentioned to the Manager (Mathias) about the very small toilet room and that it's the tiniest room we've ever seen in a hotel. As we're coming back 2 days later for one night, Mathias assured us that he would give us a much better room. An upgrade.
True to his word, he provided us with a lovely room overlooking a courtyard in the new part of the hotel). Reserve your parking for 15 Euros/night. Very handy location - near the castle and all the shopping you can think of is nearby. No need to take your car. Big plus!
My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. Arrived tired and was given a room on the second floor (this is the older part of the hotel). Our room was quite a small room with a standard double bed. Being tired, I can live with that. However, the size of the toilet room was shockingly small and had to sit up straight (on the toilet) in order not to hit my head on the door in front! I am Size 10 and there's 5 inches either side towards the wall. If you're claustrophobic, don't close the door or better still, ask to be moved to another room.
The Reception area smelt of fish dishes throughout our stay. Perhaps due to the kitchen/restaurant quite closeby. Investing in a good air freshener or ventilation would make a big difference - more welcoming.

Matthias was an exceptional host, very friendly, very helpful, spoke very good English and a great dress sense. I'm afraid I didn't get the names of the other staff who assisted us in our stay but they too were very good. The location is perfect, close to all the historical sights, town centre and great places to eat. The breakfast was exquisite with a wide variety of delectables. The spa was perfect for a couples retreat.
This one's on me as I'm certain if I raised it at the time, the team there would have been able to help. But the username for the WiFi didn't work. I didn't mind nor did I raise it as I had full 5G. Other than that, the bathroom in the room didn't offer much privacy. For couples, this isn't an issue when it comes to showering however for other things, less than ideal. These are minor though and didn't detract from a great stay.

Super cosy little hotel and close to everything, over our expectations.
Didn’t like there was no solid door to the toilet.

Nice location, good availability of street parking around.
Because the hotel does not have AC (understandably) we needed to sleep with our windows open. The room was just too hot, the neighbors were a bit loud and i slept very little 2 of the nights i was there.

Location good. Breakfast croissant were stale and hard to eat.
We had a double room with 2 single beds confirmed. When we got there they only had what they call a comfort room available although we had a deluxe room confirmed.
The pool and spa was not pleasant. Been at this hotel a few times and we booked the pool and always had it to ourselves. Now they say up to 6 people can book per hour. The pool is very small actually tiny. This amount of people in this small pool is unacceptable.

central location within the city of Caen
The hotel’s restaurant was of average quality and the service was very poor, with the exception of 1 waiter. Trying to be a classy restaurant and not making the mark is a recipe for disaster. As for value for money, this is probably the most disappointing aspect.

Good room
All the extras that had to be paid for for what was already a very expensive room.
Also had a lot of problems when I asked for an additional room key

excellent location, nice rooms..
the receptionist wasn’t clear about the breakfast, even though her English was very good.
when showing us the rooms, she told us “here you have the breakfast room from 7 until 10” without mentioning that the breakfast was not included in the price of the stay or just adding “if you like to” or “if you are interested in having breakfast with us”.
4 of us having breakfast the day after. 2 of us only having a warm tea and had to pay 16€ per person.
