Great location, spacious room, helpful staff

The location close to the station and the light rail was very good. The room was spacious although a lot of space was given over to a lobby area. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of food frequently replenished. There was access to tea making facilities in the foyer of the hotel. The room and bathroom had good storage space. The staff were helpful, and when the air con switched to heating provided us with a handle to open the window so we got cool fresh air at night.

The double bed was two singles pushed together and the connection was lumpy. The plastic underlay under the sheet made the bed very hot.

Bed wasn’t comfortable - sheet didn’t fit, so ended up on the plastic. Breakfast was functional rather than nice.

What absolutely we stay there again if I was passing through Caen in the off-season

Good location, about 10 minutes walk from the train station. Close to a number of amenities and a tram to downtown. Better than average breakfast for IBIS

Nice hotel in excellent situation.

This is a nice hotel with spacious rooms, a nice bar area and a good breakfast. Its location is excellent, near the station, a tram and free shuttle bus into town and a few chain restaurants in the adjoining shopping centre.

The hotel has an arrangement with the adjacent car park to cover the overnight cost. However on this and previous recent occasions, the machine did not recognise the ticket provided by the hotel.

Great location within short walking distance to the city centre, public transport and main line rail station. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.

A convenient overnight stay near to Caen railway station.

Reasonably convenient for Caen railway station (the hotel is reached from the station main entrance via a lengthy underpass), and situated on the the quais of the River Orne, with lots of food outlets nearby. The Reception Staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Besides parking issue EXCELLENT!

There’s underground parking. It’s partly covered by the hotel unless your car is parked for more than 12h, then you pay the fixed parking’s fee of 30€. We’re quickly outside that bracket if you arrive night time, sleep and visit the next day. We only stayed 1 night so I didn’t ask if it was 30€ per day… Besides that, everything was perfect!!

Staff and location would make this one of my first choices.

Close to train and rental car with great access to public transportation. Large mall and parking. Several restaurants nearby. Front desk staff were most helpful.

Ibis has the common standards and similarities in the different countries and locations . I trust this hotel and I am always sure what I will get , the location in Cean is top ! Just in the city centre , busy area and very nice and safe neighbourhood. Restaurants and shopping centre just one min walk . Parking is great with enough car charging slots .

Breakfast was poor , no mini bars in rooms that is a minus.

Ideal hotel near train station

The reception desk's host (from Bayeux) greeted us with so much good cheer that it brightened our entire stay. The hotel was a pleasant (but long) walk from Caen's main tourist sites, but the hotel's proximity to the train station helped us again and again with day trips to other parts of Normandy. Also, the hotel was quiet at night, and the breakfast was good.

Convenient, comfortable, nice welcome, great breakfast

We stayed here (with pet dog) last summer as a convenient first night after arriving from the UK off the ferry late evening. Clearly, it was a good experience then because we did the same again this year - happily, with the same result - a very agreeable stopover. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast excellent, and the room perfectly comfortable.

A gem in Caen, worth a stay.

This is a super find - well located by the river and close to the station, but quiet. Very friendly staff, cheerful room, amazing bathroom, wonderful city.

Nice hotel but service could be better

Nice big room, comfortable, handy for tram into town and with restaurants nearby.

I requested a non-interconnecting room via Booking.com. When I reached my allocated room I discovered that it was interconnecting. When I returned to reception to have it changed I was met with a very surly response. Also this hotel used to offer a bottle of water in the room but this seems to have stopped. Its now on the expensive side for a hotel which does not offer a great experience.
