Amazing location on Isola Bella, right in the middle of it all, with water views from the room back across to Stresa. Easily walked the Isola Bella waterfront, visited the palace and gardens, extensive breakfast and dinner on a balcony overlooking the water. It was also easy to organise boat / ferry tours to other places on Lake Maggiore from the island ticket office.

Some entrance stairs to negotiate with luggage, but the staff were super helpful and stepped in to help. The floors are accessed via lift once inside the entrance.

Comfortable and quiet rooms NO air conditioning in the rest of the hotel. It was misearable.

The room was comfortable and very quiet.

While the food in the restaurant was very good, the service getting food and/or drinks was dreadful at times. Several times after waiting for a long time, we had to go "find someone." Some times there was np one around at all. Very frustrating. Also, if you try to eat on the terrace, the birds will attack your food and land right on your table. NOTE: Don't go to the Islands in the summer as you will roast in all the restaurants. There is NO air conditioning in any eating establishments. Had we known this, we would not have booked on the Island.

A relaxing quiet stay

I am disabled and need a room with a walk in shower. The hotel advised that I would be better staying in the deluxe room. It was certainly huge, complete a balcony along the whole length of the room and a sofa. There isn't much to do on Isola Bella at night - it is either eat at the hotel or in the hotel next door. It is great if you are looking for a relaxed away from things stay.

Limited choice of teas at breakfast. Breakfast is brought to your table plus there is a small selection of items you take from the buffet. However only 2 types of tea bags were brought to my hotel which is a bit limited compared to other hotels. It is nit picking but given the level the hotel is aiming for it was noticeable.

Perfectly situated and relaxing stay.

So easy to find and access from the ferry boats. The staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Even though we did not book the best room it was attractive and comfortable with a little balcony overlooking the roofs and alleys. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Isola Bella, and eating in the hotel’s excellent restaurant.

The room was hot when we arrived but once we turned on the air conditioning it soon cooled down. Noisy in the early morning if you sleep with the windows open.

Location, location, location. Excellent staff, food, and lovely sunsets. Busy island during the day because of Palazzo Borromeo but so beautifully quiet at night.

Lovely hotel on Isola Bella

Nice hotel on Isola Bella. Room very spacious and views were lovely from the balcony (see pics). The restaurant was nice and breakfast was plentiful! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Short ferry from Stresa, and you can take the ferry on to the other islands from Isola Bella which made a nice day trip.

Ferries only go once an hour-ish (photo of ferry schedule attached) and stop at 7pm so we had to get a water taxi back to the island after dinner which cost 10 euros each. Saying that it was very easy to organize through the hotel.

A hidden gem with incredible food, staff, and views of the lake.

We absolutely loved the location of this hotel! We had amazing views of Lake Maggiore and a little balcony where we could drink our wine or coffee. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and they went above and beyond with their service. Overall a beautiful and high end place to stay. A hidden gem!

Out stay at Hotel Elvezia was wonderful. The room has stunning views at the lake and a big balcony for yourself. The room has nice size, good shower and the personal is attentive. The restaurant also is very good, attentive staff and excellent food. At night most of the tourist go home and you can have the island just for yourself. Beautiful place!

Very friendly staff, a lovely view from the room, and the hotel restaurant were wonderful spectacular. In addition, the tour of the Castle and gardens was wonderful. I recommend only a one-night stay, as there is nothing else to do.

I didn't realize that you leave your car and take to ferry to the Island. The ferry system is crazy. If you have luggage, I recommend that you ask for the ferry that takes you right in front of the hotel. There are multiple ferry vendors, all independent and trying to sell. Otherwise, you have to lug your luggage. The island is minute and loaded with tourists and touristy sales stands.

Lovely romantic hotel in the middle of the lake.

The location was excellent because it was across the street from the Isola Bella Ferry terminal. The views of Lago Maggiore from our balcony were breathtaking. The room was tastefully decorated in country French style. We loved all of the finishing touches including the natural granite slab in the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and dinner was also very good.

Each night there were fairly large groups eating on the restaurant terrace just below my windows, which was loud. And early in the morning I heard glass bottles being moved and what sounded like a lawnmower. I could get back to sleep, but light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.
