A lovely, comfortable stay with an exceptional host — highly recommended for families

The host was extremely helpful and welcoming. He explained everything about the property in detail and even guided us on how to explore Florence — marking sightseeing spots on a map, explaining public transport options, and where to buy tickets. The house itself is vintage, very spacious, and has a warm, charming vibe. We were 3 families staying together, and it was absolutely perfect for us.

Nothing major — The two bathrooms are shared among three rooms, which was manageable for us.

Luxurious home from home with superb, gracious owner

Beautiful, spacious, plenty of seating in lounge areas for our group of 8. Kitchen was well equipped to cook for ourselves if we wanted; some basic supplies like salt, oil, coffee, sugar were provided. Separate keys for each bedroom. Very good location, near the river and a 20 minute walk to ponte vecchio and to the Santa Maria Novella train station. Very warm welcome from the owner who gave us plenty of recommendations for restaurants, gelato and information about his city, Florence, which he loves. Air conditioning and cool marble flooring ensured we were comfortable in the hot August weather. Umbrellas available in case of rain. We wished we could stay longer; it felt so luxurious. We felt safe and secure and right at home.

We didn't realise the apartment was on the second floor and there was no lift. For people with mobility issues, this is important to know in advance. My mom uses a walker but managed the stairs fine.

Lovely stay in Florence

I’ll point Filippo’s amability and explanations about the city. He really took his time to make us feel like home. The place was utterly clean. Breakfast was included in a restaurant 2 minutes away from the house, with amazing pastries. The area is quiet and feels safe. I’ll definitely reccomend the place specially for families or group of friends since you can rent the whole apartment.

We had a private bathroom which was out of the room. We didnt mind because we were the only guests and we had a key for it. In any case I’ll recommend this place 100%

We loved our week in Florence and the property was a perfect base from which to enjoy the city.

The rooms are very spacious and clean and the property has a lot of character. It is in a good location for public transport or for walking along the river to the historic centre of Florence. Filippo, who owns the property, was very helpful and gave us lots of information to help us enjoy our stay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful spacious apartment, just don't expect to use the kitchen for cooking

The apartment is really big and has beautiful furniture. Our room was really quiet and clean. Filippo was a great host, giving us a lot of information about Firenze and its attractions. He was available through WhatsApp all the time for questions. We got our breakfast at a really nice café only a few steps from the apartment.

Be aware that you are not allowed to use the kitchen for cooking! We had booked the apartment specificly because of the kitchen in the advertisement and where disappointed when we got told, that we where not allowed to use it.

Nice big clean apt. Excellent host.

Our host, Filippo was an excellent host. He helped us with our luggage. Provided all the touristy information. The apt was clean, big and nice.

All the touristy places are little far (about 1 mile). Specially, in summer time, it felt far. Winter time would have been much better.

Great host, average residence, poor location

Filippo, the host, was very helpful. The included breakfast was decent, but outside the residence.

We thought the breakfast was supposed to be in the residence, but it was in a cafe outside the residence, where the staff was rude. We also expected the bathroom to be attached to the room, according to the description on the booking, but it was detached (it was private though, only for us, but outside the room). The double bed was very uncomfortable for a couple. It bounces a lot, and if you move a little, the bed moves a lot and then your partner gets angry because you woke them up... Thankfully there was another bed, and we slept in separate beds. The location is also pretty far from all the attractions, and you need to take the bus everywhere, and the busses are very unreliable in this city. The tram is more reliable, but it's 500m away and only goes to the west side (it goes to the central station, at least).

The welcome from Filippo was very nice. Before coming he sent all the indications and how to get there. He shared with many advices about Florence. The room was big, clean, facilities of the residence too, it was a very pleasant stay. I highly recommend this place, and Filippo the host is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. I couldn’t ask for more. He even drove us to tram station when we were late and after I lost the room keys :/ . I wish a pleasant stay at his place.

Brilliant place for not so much money within a mile of the centre. Loved it.

Filippo's support, information provided and cheery disposition made us most welcome for our wonderful stay in Florence. The living room was extremely comfortable with kitchen provided also. Superb value.

Bathroom is a little small and could do with a refresh perhaps. But it was more than satisfactory and very clean. As I said, in terms of value and superb welcome I could not fault the place. Highly recommended.

Absolutely perfect

The place was great. Filippo, the host, was outstanding. The best host we had during a whole month traveling trough Europe. The room was hudge, had everything we needed, lots of space, great wifi and a good bed. Filippo was allways conected in case we sent a message and at our arrival he took the time to give us information and tips of the city.

The place is lovely and located close to the edge of downtown, which means you are in a great location to explore Florence. Filippo is very friendly, he gave all the tips and info we could need for our short visit. Our stay at Residenza Oltrarno

The best aspect of our stay was how friendly and helpful the hosts Filippo and his wife were. He took 2 hours of his time to explain Florence, tips, tricks and where to go. They answered all our questions and were always available, even near midnight. We got 1 bedroom, spacious, very clean and nice. Included a fridge, with water, and a balcony. Then we got our own bathroom, in a separate room, also very nice. With a washing machine and everything you need to wash you clothes. Shared space with everyone is a large living room, a kitchen with all stuff you need, and another nice balcony. For breakfast you can go into a cafe down the street. You get two sweet things (for example a croissant) and a cafe/cappuccino... Florence center is 15 min by foot and 5 min by bus. A supermarket and restaurants are 1 min away from the apartment. 5 min to the Arno River. All in all are very pleasant stay, with the nicest hosts we have ever met.

Great house!

It is very nice house with marble steps, large airy flat with big rooms furnished by old beautifull things, paintings and piano, but also with everything, You can need. There are 2 big balconies to the street and one terrasse to a quite courtyard. The owner is nice, friendly, giving a lot of useful information. We very recommend! M&T

This apartment is very well-cared-for and is extremely spacious and clean, and all of the beds are very comfortable. We are a family group of nine people and there was plenty of room for us. The location is within walking distance to the historic areas, but the city buses are also very easy to take and the tickets are easily purchased at the nearby Tabacchi. Filippo greeted us when we arrived, helped with our luggage and took the time to answer all of our questions and to explain everything about the apartment and all about the different ways to get here and there. He had lots of suggestions for things to see and do, where to eat, and where to get the best gelato! Filippo was the perfect host and made it clear that if we needed anything or had any questions he was always just a phone call or a message away. We highly recommend this apartment and hope that it's available on our next trip to Florence.
