La Torre Del Cestello

The reception is on the third floor and our room was on the ground floor so arrival was a bit hectic. The reception is not well signed posted and we climbed all floors on the stairs before finding it. However, the staff was very friendly and the room was simple, quiet and clean. Modern bathroom, tee, coffee drinks in the fridge are offered. The location is perfect for visiting Florence and there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

Walking distant to everything

The location was nice...walkable to most places and close to some good restaurants. Pretty lively area with some cool cafes and bars. The room was big, modern and clean. Nothing extravagant, and maybe a bit pricey in comparison to what I've paid for other hotels in Rome or Paris, but there was an AMAZING view of the river and city from the window and that is worth a little extra ;-) . The only real issue we had was with the Parking situation. You have to wait for someone to meet you at a nearby piazza to pick up your car and we waited about 30 minutes (they say it will be 20) even though I called ahead to say we would be there in less than 20 minutes. Apparently they won't even call the garage until you are actually there on location...so that was a waste of our time. Also, when we dropped the car off we were told we could pay the parking with a credit card on the way out and it turned out not to be the case and we were stuck at the last minute having to walk far to find an ATM after waiting an additional 20 minutes for the parking guy to get there..another waste of time. This should really be more streamlined and the hotel should allow their guests to pay for parking via credit card. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and the building was quite nice. Defintely recommend.

Wonderfully large and very comfortable room with air conditioning. Loved the location and the staff was very helpful at recommending delicious places to eat that were very nearby. Would suggest adding a comfortable chair and/or small table in the room since the space was available.
