Incredible location and view! It was a very comfortable room and bed. Nice hot shower.
The heaters in both the bathroom and bedroom were making loud banging sounds and woke me up twice.

Beautiful view right at ocean front with private open air terrace on the second floor.
A lot of steps - this is true in Cinque Terre for all areas - be mindful of luggage. I had a carry on roller bag and back pack so I was able to navigate by myself.

This was my second stay at the property, it’s a perfect location, really really helpful staff who are helpful in recommending things to do for the time available, the room has a comfy bed, with the best sound of waves crashing overnight, and views to absolutely die for! Was a nice touch to have some water and juice in the fridge along with coffee and biscuits.
The only one small thing that could be improved is the cleaning of the bathroom ceiling where there is no window mildew has collected on it.

Our room was amazing! It faced the ocean and we could hear the waves at night. Paulo was a great host and set us up with a wine tasting as well as an in-depth history of Riomaggiore!

Our room was right on the water. A truley beautiful location. You could hear the waves hitting the shoreline. An amazing location.
We're in our '60's and my wife has a bad hip. A lot of steps to get to the room and then back to main level of Riom. Also, to get to the SScorci di Mare Office there were 67 steps straight up. Cool location, but if you have physical limitations, you need to be aware. We did take advantage of Scorci di Mare's luggage assistance. Roberto was on time and assisted us both ways. Made a huge difference.

The location is amazing looking onto the port. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you need- kettle, small fridge. The host was fantastic and met me to show me the way.
This didn’t worry me but the steps to the room are very steep.

The location and views were exceptional! The staff went above and beyond in providing us information about the Cinque Terre and giving us great ideas on how to optimize our time during our stay. Scorci Di Mare far exceeded our expectations!

Paulo was a wonderful friendly host. He kindly met me at the station (without me asking) to take me to the property, which was a few minutes walk away. Provided gudiance on my travel plans for walking between the local towns, and offered to store my bag on the last day.
Very large room with a significant volume of complimentary tea, biscuits and drinks in the fridge (both juice and bottled water).
The room overlooks an alleyway so a little bit of noise from tourists/neighbours, but not excessive, and you're going to get that in a central location like this

The location could not have been better. It would have been hard to find without Michele meeting us and taking us to the apartment. He was so helpful and pointed out many interesting things en route, with top tips of what to see, etc. He also provided a lot of other helpful information about walking routes, trains, ferries, etc. The apartment was lovely. Basic but comfortable and had everything we needed.

an age thing, second floor bedroom stairs were a little tricky for us. We chose to use the pullout on main floor

What a perfect location for a holiday! Relaxing but right in the heart of the area. The view from the balcony was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and the shower was wonderful.
The bed was firmer than we would have liked. It was initially hard to find the address.

Fantastic location albeit plenty of stairs down to port then up to room
Staff excellent and met us at marina (would not have found it otherwise)
Great place to store my bike
Michele was excellent with lots of advice that proved to be perfect
Room was made up each day and fridge came in very handy

Location! Location! Location! And the view. Clean and comfortable. Great location to ocean and everything in town. Short walk to train. Close to Lovers Lane walk.
Bathroom was a little snug.

The most amazing view you will ever see in your life. Staff were super friendly as well. Rooms we cleaned everyday and goodies refilled everyday.
Obviously the stairs would be an issue for some people but wasn’t an issue for us. Was worth it because the view is your reward for reaching the top!

A Fantastic location - right at the water's edge in the gorgeous village of Riomaggiore.
Paulo the host, is wonderful; very efficient in his communication, very friendly and, having grown up in the village, full of knowledge about its history and of things to do in the Cinque Terre. He helped us plan our itinerary and organised hiking passes for us. Nothing was too much trouble. He also organised secure parking for us, met us at the top of the town to escort us there, before guiding us to our room.
The room was very clean and simply furnished with some original features. Like everywhere in the village, the climb to the room is steep but well worth it for the view. The tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice touch!
The village is built into the side of a steep hill, so you need to be very sure footed, and happy with steep climbs and lots of steps. Tip: If travelling by car, take only want you need for your stay and leave the rest of your things locked in the private garage. the gradients make wheeling suitcases a challenge.. but.... this is a magical place and well worth the effort!
we loved it all

The location was amazing! A great view of the waterfront and the lower town! The owner was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. This stay was my favorite part of my semester abroad in Italy!
Absolutely nothing
4.0 / 10.0
The place was accessible, in a quiet area of the town nearer the sea, with nearby shops and restaurants. The room was near the entrance so we did not need to go up more flights of stairs. The shower and the toilet were clean and the room was big. It had 2 air-conditioners, with complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks.
The property came highly recommended, largely due to the exceptional service many guests had received from Paolo. Unfortunately, our experience did NOT reflect those reviews.
Although we had called ahead and used Google Maps to find the property by ourselves, there was no one at the reception upon our arrival. Thankfully, a staff member noticed us and directed us to our rooms after speaking to Paolo on the phone, who arrived about five minutes later. However, he was preoccupied with a larger group and could not attend to us even for a quick greeting.
We had hoped to speak with Paolo to plan activities—such as boat rides, massages, hikes, and purchasing discounted Cinque Terre cards—but he left again shortly after, and the reception remained closed.
We attempted to reach him by phone, but we were unsuccessful. Eventually, he responded via the Booking.com app, letting us know he was having a busy day and could meet us at 5:30 p.m. (three hours after our arrival) or the next morning at 9 a.m. Since we were only staying for one night, this delay made it difficult for us to make the most of our time, and we ended up organizing everything on our own.
The published checkout window was between 7:00 and 10:30 a.m. We left just before 9:00 a.m. to begin a hike, but again, the reception was closed. With no other option, we left the key in the door and messaged Paolo. He later informed us that payment should have been made on-site—something we could've done if not for the unmanned reception. He sent us a payment link, which we completed promptly within 15 minutes.
While the accommodations themselves were adequate, our overall experience was disappointing, especially in light of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Clearer communication and more consistent availability would have significantly improved our stay. We understand that busy days happen, but consistent unavailability left us feeling like an afterthought during our brief visit.
P.S.

Scorch Di Mare was one of our favourite accommodations in the Cinque Terre. With its location right on the glorious ocean with sea views and the magic of listening to the ocean was a highlight. The facilities were all we needed . A kitchen with fridge , Coffee Machine, Stove comfortably beds delightful toiletries etc can’t fault our stay.Michele the host was very helpful and informative and helped us with our luggage up the stairs . As with all accommodations at Riomaggorie the buildings built on the side of the cliff have steep stairs to your accommodation but that’s to be expected .
We all agreed we highly recommend this property and hence the high rating. Such a beautiful location and so handy to great restaurants and cafes. Hope to return one day in the future.

Fantastic location right on the harbour of Riomaggiore, great view from my room. Paolo was fantastic as everyone else has said. Very keen that everyone should experience the real Cinque Terre. Amazing walks right from your doorstep.

It was right on the water and it was lovely to hear it lapping the harbor.
Saturday night was very noisy with club hip hop music from the bar below. I took the air freshener out of the closet as we both thought we had sore throats from the strong smell.

The room and location were perfect for our trip. Lovely view with access directly down to the harbor. Very close to restaurants and close walk to train. They were very helpful and recommend trails and itinerary for our time there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again.
No complaints.

Location was amazing with perfect view. Paolo was super helpful with suggestions and recommendations.
Plenty of restaurants and bars around and only a 5 minute walk to the main part of town and the train to connect you to all the other villages.
Bed was comfy but was two singles joined together

It’s location on the harbor was ideal. We ate at the Next door restaurant recommended by Michael that was excellent.
Michael met us at the train station which was ideal as it would’ve been difficult to find the apartment without his help.
I had booked a two bedroom apartment for two people. I later added a third person who I thought was added to the original reservation. However, the staff booked an extra room without me understanding that they did so. It all worked out in the end because the third person didn’t mind paying for the extra room.
Include instructions on how to operate the coffee machine .
The locks to one of the buildings is incredibly hard to open, which is a problem late at night.

Location! Right on the harbour and above a very good Gelateria.
Steep steps to access, however this seems to be consistent with many properties in the Cinque Terre.
6.0 / 10.0
It is a room in a building. It is not a hotel. The beds were old spring mattresses on slats - no box spring, so they were very uncomfortable. There were dust piles under the beds and some mold in the bathroom. However, the staff were nice and the location was great. Regardless, I would not stay here again at the price we paid.

Absolutely Brilliant!! Could not recommend Scorci Di Mare highly enough..The location is the absolute best in Riomaggiore, right above the boatramp with lots of great restaurants & coffee spots with views to die for!
2 minute walk to the main shopping area/restaurants/ bars etc as well.
Paolo & the team were also fantastic, so helpful & spent ages with us chatting about where to go & what to see with more of a local take rather than as a tourist.
The room was gorgeous also, very beachy feel, super comfortable bed, coffee machine with pods supplied & assortment of different tea.
Loved this place!!
Nothing! Everything was fantastic..
