Reasonable hotel for the price but older facilities.

Location was nice and close to the railway station. Staff were helpful.

A very comfortable and hospitable home base for exploring.

This property is a lovely old building a short walk from the train station. The owner/ managers were lovely helpful people with a real generosity of spirit. There were iced tea and pastries in the foyer on arrival. The hotel had a spacious common room area with a microwave, fridges, crockery, cutlery, glassware- nicely decorated and spotless. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. A very nice breakfast with great coffee was included.

Lovely hotel, some staff very rude

Great location, and lovely room (though it was hotter than the sun when we arrived so we had to open all the windows for a few hours to cool it down). Breakfast was really nice too. Pretty hotel. Lovely shower. Bed comfy. Thin walls though, could hear other guests easily.

Staff (older man) in the last day when checking out was very rude and blunt. We asked if we could leave our bags until early afternoon, but he said only til 12 and walked off! He didnt offer any other suggestions. We went to the station and found some luggage storage there instead. It was a shame because otherwise my score for the hotel would have been a 9 not a 7, but theres no need for rudeness and unhelpfulness.

DO NOT STAY HERE - ABUSIVE HOST

Location was good and the staff other than the staff member who abused us were excellent.

My wife and I are in our late sixties and have stayed in dozens of hotels around the world over the past forty years. We have never experienced anything like the abusive treatment we received at this hotel. When we first arrived we were greeted by a very friendly lady who provided maps and plenty of information. She gave us the key to the room on the 4th floor and mentioned that the same key could be used to open the front door of the hotel if it was locked at night. We left the hotel for an hour or so and when we returned there was no one at reception. There was a door next to reception labeled as the toilet but was locked. My room key fitted so I assumed it was OK to use. On exiting the loo I was confronted by an angry German woman who I believe is the manager’s wife who rudely informed me that if the door was locked that I would need to go up to our room on the 4th floor and use the toilet there. Why give me a key to the ground level toilet if I wasn’t permitted to use it? I certainly didn’t want confrontation with anyone so chose to ignore this rude person and went to sit in the back of guest area on the ground floor with my wife. About an hour later the same German woman entered the room to empty the bin near where I was standing, close to the coffee machine etc. I simply said to her that the facilities looked great and asked if we were free to use them anytime. She glared at me and responded aggressively saying something along the lines of that if the equipment was there I could use it. She was shaking her head and muttering something else that I didn’t catch. I told her that she seemed to be a very rude person and went to sit with my wife. Next thing this woman came charging across the room screaming something at the top of her voice. She was half bending forward, bright red in the face and spittle was exploding from her mouth - she looking totally deranged. It seemed her verbal abuse lasted at least a minute or so while we sat there in stunned silence.

Super clean and tidy, the staff is very friendly and supportive. The location is great just 5-10mn walk from the Interlaken West Station. The supermarket is also near the hotel.

Good value for money given location, but wouldn’t be staying here again

Staff - during breakfast we took some hot chocolate packs with us to make it ourselves. We left it in our bedroom. Upon our return in the evening, they were gone. Turns out the staff took it, as we were not allowed it to take it from breakfast. Hot chocolate… seriously? Bathroom - very small, water spills out of the sink, no exhaust fan. The place is a bit old, does need some renovating.

A wonderful and lovely hotel and host

The host was kind and very very helpful. The location is quiet while in a walking distance to any point in Interlaken. The view from the room was breathtaking. Parking was available for a modest price. Spacious room.

Quiet location and still central

Nice quiet location, just a few minutes away from the train station and busier streets. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly, we enjoyed the shared outdoor terrace for having a light dinner with beautiful scenery.

Tiny room....eerie seemingly deserted.

The air conditioning was fantastic.

The desk personnel were not at all friendly. The room was tiny, even by Eruropean standards. There was no refrigerator in the room but oddly there was a group refrigerator in a common room where you could p;ut things. You weren't allowed to eat anything in your room. And the hotel has an eeriness to it, as highlighted by the fact when you walk though it at night you never see any other guests and all the lights in the halls are off and only turn on when there is motion detected. So basically they are off all the time. The only time you are sure you are not the only guests is in the morning in the breakfast area. There is no one at the front desk even after 7:00pm. Oh, yes, and oddly a sign over our hotel room door read 'Emergency Exit' in German.

Wonderful stay in Interlaken. Very quiet and relaxing.

Hotel Lotschberg was relaxed and spacious, with many open common areas. The room was very comfortable (with feather pillows) and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Two nights in Interlaken to start off our time in the Jungfrau region

Great location, conveniently located by Interlaken West train station, grocery stores, and various shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast each morning was good! Also having air conditioning was an added bonus especially with the high summer temperatures.

The shower/bathroom were pretty small, but they got the job done. Overall, no real issues with our stay.

The attic rooms are a little rough with the beams sloping across the side of the bed. Very easy to knock your head in the middle of the night. It did say attic room though, so I can’t complain too much.

A wonderful location and stay, expensive however beautiful !!

We stayed in room “1” and were thrilled to have a balcony, with a direct view to Harder Klum. Great aircon and roomy bathroom. Watching the hang gliders from our balcony was a highlight. Very quiet location, however just a street back from the main street. Beat on reception was incredible with his local knowledge and recommendations for quiet drinks and dinner amongst the locals. Beat also suggested a day trip by train from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald..Kleine Scheidegg..Wengen..Lauterbrunnen and back to Interlaken Ost. The free bus pass was great. We also took the funicular to Harder Klum and received a discount with the buss pass. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and great scrambled eggs. I loved the animals across the road also.

The only thing I was not 100% happy with was the bed was against the wall making it hard to sleep with a partner. The balcony ledge could do with a little clean.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

The view was lovely, and our attic room was very pleasant.

No facilities to make tea or coffee in the room. The hotel only allows food and drink in the shared lounge area; we would have preferred to have our first drink in the privacy of our bedroom. Also - fresh milk could have been provided to the lounge area.

Central location nice looking building friendly staff. Free coffee tea at any time took our dog. Great view off our balcony. Couldn't hear other guests in room. Air con was excellent.

Very comfortable and suited our travels

Very conveniently located to Interlaken West station. There was no fridge in the room but there was an excellent shared kitchen/lounge that provided fridges, cooking and tea/coffee making. Plus had a coin laundry next door.

Location close to Brasserie 17 which was great restaurant ...nothing to do with hotel ...and not far from train. Young lady on reception very helpful when we checked in and could leave luggage there until room ready.

Way over priced for what you get. We had a double room with air con. 20m2 included bathroom of 1400m2. If you are big person, do not book this room ..you will not fit in shower. Bed up against wall. View for us was of fire escape, should have known when sign over door said emergency exit ... Not sure this should have been classed as a room . Breakfast just ok ..don't include it when making your decision.

Beautiful Location and Great Value

Loved the location so convenient close to public transport, the main street and food options. Beautiful views from the room windows but even on a weekend the surrounds were quiet and peaceful. Very cute traditonal building with decent rooms for the price. Lovely staff, great included breakfast, common room and communal balcony were also excellent touches. Couldnt have had a better stay we will be back!

Bathrooms were very small and there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms ( you had to go to the common room which gave it more of a youth hostel feel than a hotel), surprising bearing in mind the very high prices.
