Hotel Central Continental

It’s a historic building, and the reception hall has a beautiful historic aesthetic. The building has preserved its historic authenticity as well as possible while still functioning as a modern hotel. To my knowledge, almost every room has a balcony, although some rooms share connected balcony areas. So, just in case, don’t leave your balcony door open if you are leaving for the day. The views are amazing, and you can enjoy them while relaxing at the table on the balcony overlooking the river. I must admit, after a long day of sightseeing, it felt refreshing to relax on the balcony with a cold drink and a light snack. A light summer breeze, a mountain view, and a river running quietly at what feels like an arm’s reach. It really added character to the entire Interlaken experience.

Compared with the photos shown on their page, it felt like we were given the least renovated room at the Central Continental Hotel — almost as if we got the leftovers that nobody had wanted for the last 30 years. The room was tiny. It was listed as a twin room, and I had specifically requested twin beds. However, the two single beds were pushed close together, and the headboard did not properly align with them, making the setup feel awkward and poorly planned. The table was extremely narrow, with only one basic wooden chair placed between the bed and the table. There was an armchair in the corner, but that did not make the room feel any more practical. Two slim people had to let each other pass just to get to opposite sides of the room. I had to do hula-hoop moves between the table, the bed, and the balcony door whenever I wanted to go out onto the balcony. The room we were given should not be used for two people. It is only big enough for one single bed and one guest.

Location next to station and excellent views. Good size rooms.

No AC but fans were provided.

Pontos baixos 1. Zero charme, móveis datados, grandes e pesados ( passa uma imagem de desorganização). 2. Funcionários: a recepcionista de manhã nem me cumprimentou ou me olhou.. só disse 'check-in as 2'. e indicou o local pra deixar a mala ( junto a outras, sem etiquetar ou identificar - até fiz foto e filme pra certificar que havia deixado ali). A recepcionista da tarde, foi gentil e agradável. A camareira também. A ajudante no csfé da manhã foi impaciente ao ajudar hospedes a entender como a cafeteira funcionava. Recolhia os pratos e talheres sem paciencia e fazendo barulho. 3. Quarto: era pequeno, mas sendo só uma noite, ok. O armário antigo e o piso de madeira rangiam muito.. É possivel ouvir outros hóspedes andando a todo momento. Duante o dia nem se percebe tanto, mas a noite parece ter godzilas andando alí (cheguei a achar que estavam entrando em meu quarto umas duas vezes- de tão próximo que o barulho estava). Ao colocar o telefone pra carregar, saiu faisca da tomada - tive que usar outra longe da cama. 4. Amenities / Outros: nada para preparar um chá ou café. Sem ar cond., sem ferro ou cofre. O wi-fi tanbém foi ruim. 5. Café da manhã: 1 opção de bolo, 1 de cookies e 1 de quitanda (tudo com cara de produtos de supermercado - nada é feito lá) mas estavam ok - exceto o croissant que estava seco e murcho. Havia 2-3 opções de frutas. Vários sucos (todos de caixinha infelizmente) 1 de leite frio, 1 de iogurte (tudo embalagens de supermercado). Os frios estavam bons -umas 5 ou 6 opções. As máquinas de café eram estranhas e não tinham legendas. Havia um molho vermelho mas não haviam ovos (de nenhum tipo). Apresentação simples - mesas enfileiradas, um pano em ciima e todos esses itens dispostos. Recomendo este hotel se você precisar ficar bem localizado por apenas 1 ou 2 noites ( e tiver o sono pesado). Se não se implortar com design,, pequenas gentilezas e se precisar eonomizar. Só não volto devido ao barulho, todo o resto dá pra passar.
