We like everything about the place- location, clean, free parking for 9 seater van.
The metal bunkbed (only) squeaks and moves when turning during sleep. Our first time to pay CHF5/ towel.

The rooms were quite old. The lights switch was not working properly also no sockets near the bed only two sockets to be shared with everyone in dome.
If you are staying for one night and it’s ok for the price.

I liked only the location that it was close to the station and road!
It’s sooo old, they need to renovate it,it had the most ancient shower have ever seen😂it was connected to the sink tap and I even had to find assistance for it to be opened!
I dint like the lady who was at the receptionist, she had an unwelcoming attitude!
The location was same time bad,it being next to the road,I couldn’t sleep as cars were making noise passing by.
I dint like the bed as well..the deckers make noise when one person moves!

I stayed in Interlaken and the room I got was absolutely wonderful. It felt like a perfect birthday morning gift! The natural view was breathtaking – I woke up to the sight of distant snow-capped mountains, lush green hills, and the soothing sound of birds singing. It was truly magical and peaceful. I’m so grateful for such a beautiful morning – it was the best gift I could have asked for. Thank you!😍🥰

It was like hotel experience, the room was spacious, comfy, clean, great view.
5 pm is too late for check-in but good that they accept luggages for storage.

I requested for and was kindly given a room with a view of the mountains - it had a little balcony facing the mountains and also the beautiful landscaped garden of the hotel - just breathtaking! The hotel must have been a grand resort in yesteryears, now fallen on hard times and demoted to a 'hostel' - but still retains its olde worlde charm and grandeur in location and the central lobby, the grand staircase.
The room was of adequate size, as was the bathroom- but the fittings in the latter are a bit shabby, the cold water tap in the washbasin would not shut properly. The balcony was a delight, with a wonderful view- but surprisingly, its floor was just a plain unfinished cement floor- no serious inconvenience, but could be improved easily.
The hotel is set a little distance away from both Interlaken Ost and West stations, you need the bus to get there, especially if travelling with luggage- the buses run only every 30 min, so you need to plan beforehand.

Cute little place, perfect for a place to sleep. Big comfy beds and really nice staff. Also amazing views
Confused on if there was breakfast or not. Wished that there was a kitchen or refrigerator for those in the hostel.

Amazing time capsule! This property used to be a grand hotel, and it still features most of the original interiors, partly from 1908! It's really beautiful. The staff is very nice and keeps cleaning all areas.
The rooms are basic, but very big and with amazing views on the mountains.
I already want to come back!

The staff were nice, friendly, and helpful. We were expecting a hostel but got a private suite which was a complete surprise to us. Everything was so comfortable. I also loved the pets hanging around. Genuinely, one of the best hotels I stayed in.

My partner and I both booked rooms in dorms so our expectations weren't high, however even for dorms these were terrible.
I saw dead cockroaches on the floor when I walked in and while on the bed had one run on my legs and another onto my pillow and touch my ear. They advertised it as a 4 bed mixed dorm but a second 4 bed mixed dorm went through the room, so it was basically an 8 bed dorm.
All 8 people shared a bathroom which because it was next to my bed with holes in the walls meant I was woken up by the flushing toilet and had the stinging stench of faeces through the night waft straight into my face when people used the bathroom at all hours of the bathroom.
My partner's experience was somehow worse - she booked an all female dorm as she doesn't like sharing rooms with other guys. Despite booking a single bed was forced to share a bed with another girl, who then started touching her through the night with her hands, putting her leg on her side of the bed and snoring right into her ear.
I went down with her to raise the issue with staff but as they run a bar and apparently drink on the job they didn't seem to care one of them actually trying to joke about it and saying 'well at least someone around here is going to get some action tonight'. We insisted on changing rooms and they said she can come onto the bed above me. Despite her having paid more to be in an all female dorm and knowing all of the issues above it was 3am and there was no other options, so she came into the cockroach infested room in a bed next to the toilet and we got out of there as soon as the sun rose.
This is hands down the worst place I've ever stayed. My partner and I are full time travelers and have been to plenty of backpackers hostels around the world, so are generally pretty easy going for hostels, but this place is hands down the worst.
I booked in a 4 bed dorm which was merged with another 4 bed dorm. The only bunk bed left was next to the toilet which has holes in the walls so was woken up all through the night to the foul stench of human faeces and flushing toilets.
Cockroaches all through the room (including 2 which went onto the bed - one of those on my pillow).
My partner booked a single bed in an all female dorm and was told the only bed left was shared with another girl, who during the night started rubbing her arm, then later when she fell asleep snoring into her ear and kicking her and putting her leg over her side of the bed so she had no room to sleep (picture below).
I went down with her to complain and the staff were drunk, one of them making extremely inappropriate and sexual jokes. Eventually got her moved into my room (which was a cheaper room/downgrade). Despite knowing there was a terrible odour and cockroaches in the room she felt that unsafe sharing the bed with that stranger that she came into my dorm. If it wasn't 3am and no other places open we would have gone somewhere else.
Complained to staff later and they basically said what do you expect from a dorm and felt they had solved the issue by downgrading her to the cockroach infested room with odour issues.

Great value
View from the room
No ventilation in case of warm days, only a big window that might let mosquitoes in.

Everything was beyond expectation.
Really had a great time.
Thank you.
I liked actually everything.
May be just having lockers in the room would be a plus because then you don’t have to worry about luggage.

One of our favorite hostels we’ve stayed in for our month long euro trip. Our room had the most incredible views!! The space was comfortable and had a balcony. Loved Kya the dog, she made it so memorable!
Loved it all!

Location
Was supposed to be in a 10 bed form but was in a 12 person. No lockers to secure your stuff so had to take important things with us everyday. Bathroom was disgusting and full of mould and the walls breaking - very run down. Pillows weren’t proper pillows. Laundry room not good

Free parking with many available spots, nice garden with views of the mountains and plenty of seating, friendly staff, very short walk to coop (grocery store), and the building/architecture has charm.
The doors to the hostel rooms close VERY loudly. It sounds as if someone is very angry and is going around slamming doors throughout the hallway. A problem at night and early morning when the sound of slamming doors affect your sleep. My bunk bed literally shook when people shut doors from other rooms on our floor. If fixing the doors is not an option, staff may want to put signs on the doors as a reminder to close the door gently after 9 pm and before 8 am.
It looks like the property was really nice back in the day, but has been let go over the years. It also used to have a large pool and other amenities.

The Bernard (dog) and Pool Hall were one of our favorite parts of the trip. The bartender was especially kind and very nice. Very pleasant stay and would 100% come back.
