Balmers Hostel

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking. It’s a great place for guests to cook together and share food with others if they have extra. This creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Location was good, the staff were incredibly nice and helpful, everyone I spoke to was great!! As a solo female traveller I felt very comfortable in the hostel and it was nice to see lots of other women. Bathrooms were very clean compared to other hostels I have been to they were spotless. It was mostly a really nice vibe in the hostel - I enjoyed the layout and the decor and some of the social events hosted at the hostel. Price is great compared to other hostels in the area. All the water in the taps was drinking water so no need to buy bottles. The building is beautiful outside too!! Overall I would definitely come back.

The room was very small for 8 people compared to some other similar properties. I was on a top bunk and although I’m very short I was not able to sit up in my bunk without hitting my head on the ceiling, and there wasn’t much floor space. It was also a bit too lively at the weekend. I was often kept up late at night due to other guests and roommates making noise outside the room and coming in and out late.

Great room, great facilities, very clean (cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in) well styled hostel & great staff. Trivia night was a lot of fun and they go to a lot of effort planning events so people can meet in a social environment. Amazing location easy walk into Interlaken and very easy to take public transport to surrounding towns.

The bed was very firm which some people prefer so that's ok. The noise of other guests being loud and slamming doors which is outside of Balmers control. We used war plugs to have a much better sleep. Fine If you're a heavy sleeper.
