This was a very disappointing stay.
The hotel entrance is only accessible via steep stairs with no ramp or staff assistance—difficult if you have heavy luggage or mobility needs. When we arrived early at the hotel , the morning shift receptionist abruptly said before we can say a word, “Check‑in at 2 o’clock, you can leave your luggage over there,” with no greeting or helpful information. She clearly lacked customer service skills. However, the evening shift receptionist was really nice and helpful.
The lobby is cluttered with boxes and office files. The building appears seriously dated and badly in need of refurbishment; furnishings are worn and frayed. Our first-floor room lacked air conditioning and smelled musty. After requesting a different room we were moved to a third-floor room with construction outside the windows-it was no better.
At breakfast, we spoke with another couple who had similar complaints about service and room quality. The photos and descriptions on booking sites do not match the actual condition. I don’t understand where the glowing reviews came from (which was the basis of our decision), but our experience was the opposite.
The cleaning and kitchen staff were friendly, there’s free breakfast with limited choices, but overall I cannot recommend this hotel.
