Delightful, will stay again!

Love the location, just by the Interlaken West station. Every member of staff was kind and so helpful, not a single complain! Shout out to Eduardo at the front desk! Such a superb guy! The breakfast buffet is rich and tasty. Amenities are nice plus we got the best view of the lake and the mountain.

Nothing serious… just that there were no robes, house slippers or fridge but it doesn’t take away from the experience at all.

Just an observation. On the second to the last day (next day was our checkout) only the toilet was cleaned and not the rest of the room. There was daily housekeeping before this.

I’m sorry if it’s not all praises but the lackings really made our arrival a bit disappointing! It was our first time in Switzerland and we made Interlaken our base for 4 nights but while the hotel’s location and staff are top-tier, the physical room experience and some hidden costs left a lot to be desired. Location and Service The location is undeniably convenient, situated perfectly for those using Interlaken West as a hub. Furthermore, the customer service was excellent; the staff were professional, kind, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay.

Misleading Room Setup and "Views" The most frustrating part of the stay was the discrepancy between the advertising and the reality of the room: The Bed Configuration: We booked a room advertised as having three single beds. Instead, we were given two single beds and a sofa bed. Once the sofa bed was pulled out, the room became incredibly cramped, leaving literally no walking space to move around or access luggage. The "View": The promotional photos suggest majestic mountain vistas. In reality, our window looked out onto a dreary shaft. It felt like a "bait and switch" compared to the imagery used online. Missing "Essentials" Despite the name of the hotel, many basic facilities were missing: No fridge or kettle / although there’s a coffee machine: It is very inconvenient not to have a place for cold drinks or the ability to make a proper tea except for trickling hot water from coffee machine in case you really want one! Bedding Quality: The pillows were very poor and offered no support. Towel Service: Housekeeping consistently failed to leave enough towels for all guests when replacing them. High Additional Costs A major point of contention is the parking. While advertised available, the cost is not! It is CHF 28 per day.

It was a wonderful experience. The apartment was clean, fully equipped with everything we needed, had a beautiful view overlooking the river, and the staff were kind and very helpful.

This is the perfect hotel to stay in interlaken. It is not stone throw away from train station. It is literally stone drop away only. Super convenient. Opposite has a mall with a big supermarket. Can buy from supermarket and cook at the apartment. The apartment is super big and comfortable. Everything is very new and well maintained. Quite pricey but really worth it.

The lighting at the dining area is too low. We keep hitting it whenever we stand up. This light should change to prevent hazard. The TV in the living room is too small. Other than this, everything was perfect.

The hotel has a modern and clean design, and the room was well maintained. Although the space was somewhat limited for large luggage, it was still comfortable for our stay. The location is excellent—very close to the train and bus stations, making it easy to get around. There are also many nearby restaurants and supermarkets, which added a lot of convenience. Breakfast was included and provided a good start to the day.

During check-in, the front desk staff were kind and accommodating, which we appreciated. However, the staff member in charge of handling our luggage was rude and disrespectful. When I politely asked if our luggage could be delivered to the room, he explained that the hotel does not offer this service but did so using inappropriate language. I hope the hotel management addresses this, as guests expect courteous and respectful communication at all times.

Fantastical

It was a great hotel! Location was fantastic as we were only beside the train station, Interlaken West and it wasn’t noisy at all. Opposite us was the supermarket and everything was a walking a distance. If it matters to others, the soaps used were by rituals. We loved it.

It could use an iron and iron board as it would be useful.

Great sized apartment with fully equipped kitchen, (which we did not use except to make hot drinks). Beautifully furnished. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was delicious!

The pillows were way too soft and the rooms were stuffy - we slept with the windows open. We knew in advance that the apartment did not have air conditioning, but were not expecting it to be so hot in the apartment given it was November.

I loved that the apartment was so organized and spacious. The location is so good and everything is walking distance. Staff was so professional and helpful with all our needs. I definitely recommend this property i really do. And if one day i’ll come back to interlaken i’ll surely book with this property again.

Great location, Amazing Staff.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is literally steps away from the train. Even with the hotel being by the train station we didn’t hear any noise. The room was clean, comfortable and everything worked perfectly. We had breakfast at the hotel every day, the food area was clean, food was made fresh and was promptly replenished. I personally loved the grilled vegetables. My wife really liked having assortment of cold and hot options. The staff is beyond amazing! We interacted with Eduardo at the front desk, Guido and Anna at the bar lounge. When we checked in Eduardo took the time to share what activities we could do with rain in interlaken, he also shared cameras of different areas nearby and made suggestions. Guido at the lounge is AMAZING!!! He made recommendations based on our time and was very genuine in his interactions. At the end of the day he would ask how everything was. Anna greeted us goodbye even from far away. It was a very personal stay, we are on our honeymoon and will cherish this stay in Essential by Dorint Interlaken West forever thanks to these 3 staff members.

You have to pay for everything. The facilities are new but they don’t provide water complimentary and it’s annoying you have to pay for it. You even have to pay for the parking and the price was high.

The hotel was modern and rooms were lovely and clean. Lovely view from our hotel. The staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions. Great location, you can step straight onto the train station.

Excellent but with major flaws that can be easily corrected

Excellent location. Amazing check-in and front desk staff. Julie and Eduardo were the best front desk people we have encountered. They went out of their way to make sure that our stay was excellent. Even helped us with best restaurants and sight seeing suggestions. But the cleaning crew and maintenance people are the exact opposite. Lights not working in the room. AC not working, After the 1st night room cleaning crew never removed any garbage or made sure the coffee was enough in the room. No creamer no sugar substitute or even a spoon to make sure we stirred the sugar into the coffee. Used cups were left all 3 days which we washed to reuse them. Nothing was vacuumed. Some towels were replaced but not all. Even the buffet kept running out of food and milk for the coffee machine. Breakfast menu was basically the same every morning. My kids didn’t even go back after the 2nd day. That hotel can be one of the best hotel in interlaken if only they would watch small things. On a score from 1 to 100, Front desk staff I score 100, cleaning crew 25 at best. Breakfast 50.

Beautifully done hotel, ideally situated at the Interlaken West train station. Floor to ceiling stunning views. Lovely modern room, well equipped with all the mod cons. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Essential by Dorint Interlaken, and my experience was excellent overall. The service was outstanding, with everyone at the front desk providing warm and professional assistance throughout my stay. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with breathtaking views that made the stay truly memorable. The only small point for improvement would be the bed setup, as it consisted of two smaller beds combined that occasionally shifted apart. A more seamless option would make the stay even more comfortable. For a new hotel, everything was exceptionally well organized and welcoming. I look forward to returning and would gladly recommend Essential by Dorint Interlaken to anyone visiting the area.

Very Good Stay. Will consider the property in future.

It is after a long time after I have stayed with a prperty other than Marriott Bonvoy. The property was neat and clean and full marks to the management for that. The beds could be bigger. Location is 10/10. Property is well insultated do you will never find cold.

Room gets too hot and required a window to be opened all the time and we had to turn on the fans to manage the heat at this time of the year when it has recently snowed outside. Second, the shower and shampoo is the same bottle where it doesn;t do the job so we had to go and buy our shampoo and conditioner.

Not a very pleasant stay

Breakfast options were great!

The hotel was understaffed, and the first room assigned had a non-functional air conditioner. We were subsequently given rooms facing a closed courtyard, which felt dark and claustrophobic—definitely not the kind of atmosphere one expects when visiting Interlaken. There were no alternative windows or views. In hindsight, staying near Interlaken Ost would have been a better choice, as Interlaken West felt overly commercialized and crowded, with this hotel right in the middle of it all.
