Het was een verrassing om deze mooie cottage vlakbij een drukke weg te vinden, mooi afgelegen. Het geluid van het verkeer hoor je echter niet meer. De ontvangst was hartelijk en de rondleiding duidelijk. De douche was heerlijk (altijd een pluspunt na een fietstocht), de bed ook. We bleven er twee nachten, elke avond vroeg de gastheer wat wij wensten voor ontbijt (uitgebreid ontbijtmenu) en elke ochtend werd een heerlijke en uitgebreide ontbijt geserveerd. Je voelde je dan echt als een lord en een lady. Het afscheid was ook zeer hartelijk, we werden uitgezwaaid. Daarnaast lag er een duidelijke informatiemap en veel suggesties voor uitjes in de buurt. Vragen werden duidelijk beantwoord.
Niet echt kritiek, maar fietsers moeten langs een drukke weg (A69) om bij de cottage te komen, het beste is om dan via Haltwhistle te gaan, dan maak je gebruik van een soort pad langs de weg. De Engelsen zijn overigens wel zeer fietsminded en passeren je zo ruim mogelijk. Er is ook een soort van binnenweg, maar die hebben we niet gepakt, het schijnt nogal steil te zijn.
