Allerdale Guest House

The best guest house we ever lived! The lovely host couple is so nice and welcomed, offered everything we need and with many thoughtful details too. The breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended. It's lucky we decided to stay here.

The breakfast was great, the staff too. Nice little extras like the cakes available to pick up, and advise available for walks and trips.

A very short window for breakfast time - 8.15am to 9am. In fairness they left stuff out for me on the morning I did Keswick parkrun and needed to eat earlier.

Location is excellent, close to town but slightly out, so it's quiet, but less than a two-minute walk into the centre. On-site parking at the rear of the property, which is private and accessible and, unlike most places in Keswick, not on-street. Spacious room, very clean and tidy. Really comfortable bed. Great breakfast with loads of choice and lots of help from Leigh. Fantastic hosts.

This is not a criticism. It's a tall building, so there are stairs - if you have mobility issues, maybe request one of the lower floors.

Once again we had the most amazing stay at Allerdale Guest House. This is by far the best guest house in Keswick. We stay here every year and will continue to do so in the future. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The beds guarantee the best sleep possible and then when you wake up, Mat’s breakfast is freshly prepared from an amazing list of choices, even haggis. The full English though, is to die for. Locally made produce is served and cooked to perfection. Leigh is the perfect host in the mornings and her knowledge of the Lakes is second to none. Overall, if you are planning a trip to The Lakes, make this guesthouse your first priority. Thanks again Mat and Leigh. Andy and Gulya.
