Big, old, bold but beautiful!!

For such a big old venue, i thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. The food was exceptional......staff were friendly and most helpful....location was perfect , what more could you want.

If I had to be critical, it would only be about the building itself......tired in places, but still....it's very old, and only to be expected.

Relaxing and close to all we love in Keswick

Room - two windows, one with a view towards Cat Bells and the second with a view towards Skiddaw. Breakfast was excellent. Lounge Bar clean and spacious.

Grand old hotel in tranquil location within a few minutes walk from Keswick High standards all round. Friendly staff, good food and drink, comfortable lounges and comfortable bed Plenty of free parking

Food excellent as always and good choice. First night starter - main and dessert were served like wham bam man despite asking staff for 5-10 minutes between courses. Second night a lot better - hotel quietest I’ve ever known it…Love Keswick and the hotel. It’s a great place to stay and the drinks prices were very reasonable compared to the Borrowdale Hotel which were extortionate🤢

Rooms are decor are dated - been like this for over 10 years or maybe more…

A fabulous place to stay

We absolutely loved staying here, our room in the old station house was warm and welcoming. We slept so well we missed breakfast ! Lovely lounges to sit in and relax in the evening, the staff were all really friendly and welcoming. We walked around the grounds and were surprised at the amount of rabbits on the lawns.

Just what we needed after a long drive. Lovely pace to stay.

My daughter and I have stayed at the hotel twice in the last two months. Large, clean and spacious twin room. In need of a little bit of updating decor-wise but warm and well appointed. Rooms are very quiet. Beds are VERY comfortable. Excellent shower and a bath that fills up in what seems like 2 minutes. Friendly and professional staff. Huge dining room, nice bar, other drawing room, lounge, etc. Car park at front is great. Excellent location- the hotel is just a short walk along road next to Fitz park on one side and bowling green on other. Beautiful grounds. Will be back!

Room definition misleading.

Lovely old hotel with a lovely dinning area. Impressed with staff, very attentive. Rooms nice, however King room was very small. I feel overpriced at £142.

Our stay was wonderful and we look forward to coming back.

The food here is exceptional, traditional historical recipes are used. We had guinea fowl, venison, duck all to a high standard. The staff are professional and do their jobs exceptionally well, welcoming and make you feel relaxed and cared for. The bar and restaurant are both spacious and comfortable and are good to relax in.

Our bathroom could have done with a touch up and there was a patch of mould in the corner of the bedroom ceiling. But the room was large, comfortable with a sitting and sleeping area. We added an extra nights stay.

A great place to stay, easy walk, just a few minutes, to the centre of Keswick.

Food superb, excellent room, wonderful staff. Perfect location, great surroundings, all-in-all, a great place to stay. An old, quintessentially English hotel, quirky nooks and crannies, creaking floorboards, I can imagine Agatha Christie or Poirot staying here. I would not even consider staying anywhere else.

Lovely olde world hotel. Lovely staff and a big room. Certainly stay again if in the area. Shower was amazing.
