A cozy, comfortable stay in a perfect central location with a fantastic breakfast.

The hotel was wonderful, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The location was excellent, right in the center and close to everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing, with plenty of tasty options to start the day. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Nothing in particular—everything was very pleasant during our stay.

Bed and breakfast with a pet

Most staff were very nice. The value for overnight and breakfast was excellent. Bathroom was spotless. Breakfast had a great selection And breakfast staff were great. Dinner was fab and decent portions

We were in a pet friendly room and it was up a few flights of stairs. Which was a bit of an effort with our 13 year old dog. But not the end of the world.

The central location of the hotel, the very friendly efficient staff, great choice of evening meals and the hearty breakfast all made this a very enjoyable stopover in Pitlochry.

Great breakfast, great location.

Comfy beds, great breakfast, fantastic value. Location great for the centre of Pitlochry, and a 15 minute walk to the theatre. I was pleased to get a parking space too. Quiet in the rooms (Sunday night)

Only negative was noisy people in the room next door, but we politely asked them to be quieter, which they did, result!

Absolutely great stay. Only thing was the coffee machines at breakfast didn’t work well and didn’t get a full cup of coffee. Other. Guests seemed disappointed as well with it. Other than that tiny detail it was fabulous and can be easily addressed.

Lovely clean hotel with good dining facilities and great staff. We had a lot of fun there!

The location which wasn't too far from the Festival Theatre where I was attending several events. The dining room was great for breakfast with my two dogs and the staff were really helpful.

I would have liked a larger room to accommodate my two dogs I have to bring them with me as one is my support dog and the other is a trainee. I wouldn't have minded paying a bit more for this. Sadly there are no rooms on the ground floor but we managed. However. it would not be suitable for someone with severe mobility problems which should be pointed out when booking. The car park is also quite small but I managed to get the last space and decided not to move my car for my stay which didn't affect me much but would have done if I had wanted to explore more of the area.

Central location with very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean spacious with comfortable bed. Tea/coffee making facility as standard. Bathroom was very clean with good sized shower cubicle. Breakfast was of great standard with good variety on offer - in general everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Exceptional value

Generally tired hotel . On the bottom end of three stars. Our room was basic and disappointing .

FOOD: The breakfast was good. Acceptable quality and quantity. Dining room was clean and service was good. STAFF : Every member of staff we encountered was very helpful and professional.

The hotel in general was needing maintenance to decor in most areas, which gave it a dowdy, run down feel. Our room (205) walls were scuffed and marked. The sloping walls / ceiling meant it was not possible to sit up in bed at the headboard. There was no chair in the room hence e.g. putting on socks was more difficult than it needed to be. The two single beds pushed together was not comfortable. There was a constant hum/ drone outside the window. Hanging cupboard was good size. En Suite. The shower was functional and a good size. The toilet and whb all acceptable. Rust along the bottom of the radiator. Minor defect in shower rail. (Reported ) FOOD :Was good pub grub but we felt it was expensive ( Comparable or more than central Edinburgh prices) especially when service charge added and presented already on the bill as a “ fait a complaint”. One waiter told us it was a legal requirement!! One waiter advised it was optional and made us aware of the option to remove it. This is a training issue. All should sing from same hymn sheet. The entertainer on Saturday night was very professional and to our liking. The hotel ground floor areas all tended to be cool especially when front doors opened two or three times in succession. A review of the layout in this area , footfall and travel paths, should find a better solution. Generally the hotel had a good vibe about it.

Great space in prime location, just feels a little bare neglected.

The property is located centrally on the Main Street, really handy for accessing all the town has to offer. It offers great size rooms, comfortable beds, fluffy towels and even tea, coffee and shortbread. We had space to park around the back of the property and there was nothing we reached for that wasn’t provided.

The stairs from the main living area to the bedrooms and only bathroom are exceedingly steep and shallow making for a scary decline. The floor in the main bathroom and second bedroom are very uneven, I u destined it’s an old property but this was disconcerting for a vertigo sufferer. The attention to detail when cleaning was lacking, spiderweb on bathroom window, slimy hand soap bottle in bathroom and crumbs under couch. There was a hoover provided but it didn’t work even after 24hours charging. Cutlery and tableware was short for four of us staying in the property and it just felt a little neglected. Having said that we did enjoy our stay and it wouldn’t put us off going back.

I had a lovely short break and went to the theatre. Mckays is a great hotel to stay in.

Lovely cosy room. Very central for everything. Food was excellent and staff friendly.

The lighting in the restaurant at night was very poor. I noticed a lot of people using phone torches to read the menu. One staff member said it was for nice ambience but in reality I struggled to see the menu and my food. Anyone with poor eyesight I would not recommend going there.

Very disappointing I would not recommend this to anybody

Location

The cottage we stayed in carpet was extremely dirty and stained. Mattress protector was extremely grubby and had stains on it. Floor in the bedrooms You were very lucky you didn’t fall through them. The show was slow and could not adjust the hot to the cold . The cottage needed a big makeover and was quite disappointed to even have put that on the website for people staying in.

The Location is beautiful and the staff had very good hospitality. The Room was super clean and spacious with modern facilities.
