The bed was super comfortable and was a great size. The hostel provided two pillows. I stayed in shared room which was absolutely fine. The bathroom is basic but clean. Great location to explore Pitlochry. For my first hostel stay, it was adequate for a short stay. I only noticed limited parking on site but was lucky enough to get a spot.
Although it was expected, there is no lift to get up the stairs so do be mindful if you are carrying a large, heavy suitcase. In saying that, there aren't too many steps and it is a straight staircase.
There isn't too much room for luggage in the shared rooms but that was also expected. No lockers in the rooms.

Value for money was great as we needed a room to fit 3 adults for one over night while visiting enchanted Forrest. We stayed in 4 bed private dorm was perfect for what we needed.
Beds were comfortable. Bedding pleasant.
Shower curtain allowed water out onto bathroom floor. Toilet flush wasn’t great. Bright green exit light was uncomfortable when sleeping in one particular bunk bed. Rooms were noisy could hear other toilets flushing during the night.

Great stay as ever. Love the kitchen facilities, communal living areas and view from dining area. Charging points in bunks. Family room with own bathroom. Fabulous location handy for everything and lovely outside picnic tables to watch the sun go down behind the hills.

Excellent value for money.
Floors are creaky and walls are paper thin.

The location is ideal, a short walk into the village and there is parking on site. Bit of a walk uphill if you are less capable or just tired after a long day! That being said, you get a super view from the hostel and if its nice, you can sit outside.
Generally really old fashioned and needing an upgrade, especially the bathrooms. Cracks in the tiles, a rusty nail in the floor as a doorstop (?) and although we upgraded to ensuite, it was right next to the communal bathroom (toilet?) where we could hear people using it.
Outdoor seating could be expanded, only two picnic tables which were mostly used all the time by groups. Nice wooden bench at side, but with that view on a sunny day it would be fantastic to have more seating.

Our double room was spacious and clean. The dining room is well equipped and clean. The location is very accessible, close to the train station.
I liked everything.

A lovely old house with a very nice dining room and sitting rooms/salons. We got a room with our own bathroom, both were clean and the room surprisingly big. Helpful staff and amazing location.
The kitchen could have been better equipped for cooking (pans, wooden spoons), and the water pressure in the shower was really low, but those are just minor complaints. Also the parking gets crowded really easily.

Downstairs was absolutely fine. The kitchen and shared spaces were nice. The staff were lovely, so chatty and really helpful. I could not fault the staff.
Our room needed a refurb. It wasn’t in great shape. The toilet started to smell, it had been cleaned, but it was so old and knackered, like any old toilet it started to smell of urine. We stay in Youth Hostels regularly and this Hostel is letting the excellent staff down. Also, at £130 per night, it wasn’t really good enough for that price.

Really nice staff at check in. We opted for the wee breakfast which filled us up. The location was amazing.
The room was really hot and the midges meant that we couldn't open the window. There was no fan to cool us down. The rooms were surface cleaned but looked like they had many years of build up. The shower looked very clean though.

Beautiful views, great location, comfortable and spacious room. The staff were very helpful and kind. We even got a travel cot for my toddler.
The room was very clean, but there was quite a lot of black mold on the window.

Great location, close to the centre of Pitlochry.
Friendly staff, particularly Rory.
Comfortable bed. Well laid out kitchen and dining room.
Drying Room was outside, not ideal in a downpour.
WiFi was poor, only available downstairs.
Water temperature was really poor. Peaked at tepid apart from our last night.

Property was in a central location and enabled my friend and I to walk back and forth to the Heartlands Festival in Pitlochry. It had all the amenities required and great staff who were all friendly and helpful.
Parking could be better although the spaces available are used to their potential.

Nothing to dislike.

Staff and location.
Room was OK but decor and fitments dated from the 70’s. Headboard light column over bed not in good position as my partner banged his head twice on it. I just managed to miss it twice.
Shower cubicle door does not fit correctly and rusty bathroom mirror.
Pictures on wall need scraping and it would look better! A little TLC could make this room really great as the view was lovely and so were the staff.

We got to sleep very well. Room was clean. The kitchen/dining areas was huge and well equipped. We could park directly next to the property. Lovely views and friendly staff. Good value for money.
The kitchen had some electrical hobs which worked very poorly. Place is dated. Shower didn't have enough warm water for the last one who showered.

Amazing staff ! I forgot my wallet at the reception (realizing it only after a few hours thinking I lost it somewhere), the nicest lady Eather brought it to my room leaving a note for me! She saved my trip since it was our first night and I had all the payment for the next hotels on a card in that wallet.
+ Very close to city center
Parking (better with smaller cars)
A little dated bathroom
Moquette in the rooms but it’s pretty usual in the UK
If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs!

Great position clean and efficient. Just what we needed as bike packers with bike storage.
Sharing a room with 3 other men who went to bed slightly earlier and didn’t get up at 7am made our stay a little more difficult. However it is what we had booked and was one of our cheapest nights of the trip.
6.0 / 10.0
Friendly and helpful staff. Counts for a lot. Was friendly to all arriving guests.
Doors that slam. Youth hostels never seem to get this right. There should be a weekly check.
Windows in room 3 hard to open and keep open.

Beautiful location, good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff.
Compared to the Scottish Youth Hostel in Oban the common areas were disappointingly shabby, also my husband's bed was very squeaky (!) as were the floor boards.
