Breakfast was good. Good selection. Changing rooms at pool cold. Staff efficient.
Carpet in room could do with being replaced or a least cleaned. Linen clean but very noisy when you moved about in your bed!

Its ok for what it is, but you wouldnt go there unless you just needed a bed for the night.
Food was ok, nothing special, but it filled a gap.
Rooms and building are tired, needing renovation.
Some of the staff are rude, but I can see that they are not well resourced so are quite frustrated in their roles, leading to a bad customer experiance.

Location is perfect, very easy access to the centre of Pitlochry. Plenty of parking.
Breakfast was nice, pastries were a bit over done both days we were there.
The pool was nice, clean, no life guard but this is explained on arrival. Jacuzzi and sauna were also good.
Bed was really comfy, very good sleep.
Very dated. Uneven floors, sloping uneven stairs.
Painting was being carried out in the corridor where we were staying. We hadn’t been told about this on check in and we actually pushed open a door and nearly knocked the paint tray over. No signage was in place for caution or wet paint.
The bar staff said they didn’t take orders from your table you had to go to the bar (it wasn’t busy).
The room was really large with hardly any furniture which was a bit odd! No iron and coffee machine didn’t work.

As always the reception staff were wonderful and very accommodating. I was travelling solo with my dog and was struggling with luggage and keeping hold of the lead. The staff were so helpful and understanding. My room was spacious and recently renovated.
The young chap at breakfast guarded the breakfast room like his life depends on it. A smile goes a long way.

Everything was as I would expect at a traditional Highland hotel.
Friendly staff good food, pleasant surroundings if a little too warm for me.
Nothing

The room we got after we said the room was smelly we where first given , don’t understand why we where not put in a room recently upgraded at first but instead they gave us a room that really needed updating.
The sauna wasn’t working when my husband tried to use it this morning .
When I booked I thought I’d booked breakfast on arrival was told I didn’t , I think for £89.00 on a Sunday it should have included breakfast.

We were out in a ground room due to lift being out of order & having mobility issues. Room was in a bit of disrepair & had obviously had a quick lick of paint as smell of paint was strong despite cobwebs on the bedroom roof. The toilet flush and taps caused a rly loud noise from the pipes when used and toilet refill dripped loudly which was annoying especially during the night when you had to use the facilities.
Thought the issue of a robe and slippers for the pool & facilities might have been standard but no.

Welcoming, friendly staff.
Good breakfast, lots of options.
Best of all though, huge thanks to the Barman who kindly gave me some of his pizza coz when I tried to order food the kitchen had already closed.
Kitchen had closed early so could not order food.
Hotel is a bit shabby in places.
Sauna temperature was tepid!

Liked our room and breakfast was good, although a bit overpriced. Dinner was average with batter on fish overcooked, and roast beef dinner with chewy meat and hard Yorkshire pudding. Spotless bed linen and towels. A good addition to rooms would be a hook behind the door for heavy coats.
It would be good to have a step in shower rather than a bath. Difficult for the elderly to get in and out of. Constant music which could be overwhelming for people with hearing aids, especially when television was on at same time. Our bed was ok but friends had uncomfortable mattress.

Check in was smooth, staff were competent. Room was fine. Everything was clean. Breakfast was a standard buffet style with hot and cold options.
Building and decor is a bit tired. In need of renovation.

Lovely stay, staff very helpful & it was a nice touch having a gift bag with treats ball & a light for the dogs! Lovely breakfast nice touch the bar area having board games. Requested decoration in the bedroom for my little ones birthday & they added this at no extra cost. Thank you!
Bedrooms/bathroom a bit on the cold side completely understand that it’s an old building with old windows but would maybe benefit from an extra heater in the bedroom.
Breakfast was great but dinner service was slow & the food wasn’t the best especially for the waiting time. Also confusion when handed the bill after telling the restaurant staff I had paid in the price for dinner bed & breakfast. Restaurant staff resolved this quickly.

Lovely area. Room was slightly dated but still very nice. It’s in a lovely area and great that there was an indoor pool.
The young man who was the night porter on 4th/5th January was excellent. I wasn’t happy when I first spoke with him but when he came up to the room he was brilliant. He did his best to reach a resolution given the constraints he was working within.
No USB points in the room for charging devices. Plug sockets were not ideally placed.

The pool etc were brilliant and the bar/ check in staff were very nice and attentive. The lounge bar was very comfortable and enjoyable. The bar prices were broadly in line with the rest of Pitlochry and in some cases cheaper. The rooms were big and clean.
The rooms we had were needing a wee lick of paint and bore little relation to the photos we saw on booking.com. The distance from the hotel to the main Street is about 15 walk but its way up the hill which makes for an interesting trip back up the hill after a meal and a few drinks.

The spa facility is very nice and well maintained.
Staff kind. Well organised with everything you need, from the spa to the restaurant and the bar.
Breakfast nice, room big
Beside the issue with the bathroom and need of windows upgrading is good value for money.
The bathroom needs urgent upgrading, in particular the windows. The bathroom was very cold despite heating in it on since check in to check out, and I genuinely thought the window was opened but it was actually so old that had no insulation.
Room was cold too as heating were off then arrived, took few hours to warm up

The location
The rooms were old and dated. The bed was clean but the bathroom didn’t feel clean, the windows were really dirty.
The bed was too small for the size of room. The paint on the walls was chipped. Overall a poor condition

Room very clean and bed comfortable with good linen. Staff friendly and breakfast good.
TV didn’t work ( a previous guest review mentioned this so might be an issue here). Wi-Fi not great either. Main issue was cold water pressure which was very poor. Poor in evening then barely able to shower in the morning unless you turned it up to scalding hot which you couldn’t stand under or normal temperature which was a dribble! I don’t know if a temporary issue or not. Cleaning was very good but general maintenance lacking. Felt 10am check out was early for this size of hotel.

Fab room - great view. Lovely staff. And great entertainment (songs were a bit old for me, but the singer had a great wit)
Restaurant a bit dated. And food felt bought in rather than home cooked,

No shower/1 The shower did not work. It went from scalding hot (Dangerously so) to freezing cold. Impossibe to shower.
We complained to reception requesting a refund. but were told to complain to bookinin.com to get a refund.
The booking was £184 !! We would expect at least a partial refund for no working shower in the room.

The Pitlochry Hydro far exceded our expectations for the price we paid. Our room was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds and right next to the spa which was excellent.
The food was of a very high standard, both the evening meal and the buffet breakfast we couldn't fault.
Staff were friendly and courteous throughout our stay also. Brittany was our waitress and she was charming and helpful.
Another bonus we didn't expect was the live entertainment, a fun night with lots of laughs, Robbie was a character, very entertaining and had is all singing along.
We will definitly be back.
Nothing, it was great!

Room was a good size. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Location ok, but a hike up the hill at night back from the town.
A bit disappointed with the evening meal of fish and chips. The frozen chips were not all cooked properly. At breakfast on the second morning of our stay the member of staff said we were not booked in for breakfast but it was rectified quickly.

Lovely location comfortable beds. Good room size
Work being done in the hotel woke us up every morning between 7-7.30am! Would not have booked property if we had known as felt like living under a dentist with all the drilling.

Everything superb
Booking.com's lack of reaction to my plea for help. Quite shocking.
I decided to book an additional night but booked 2 nights then forgot to cancel the single night. When I sought help, twice, from booking.com, no response. Nothing.
I have been a loyal supporter of booking.com for years and then this????
I feel very badly let down.

It was a nice hotel we enjoyed our stay. We had dinner in hotel from bar menu and it was really nice and not to expensive. Room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable also so all good. Staff at the check in desk very nice and quickly checked in which is always good.
We were having drinks at the bar but for some reason we couldn't get cocktails at the cocktail bar and the reason was there was no glasses to make them. Never heard this before then my wife was ordering vodka with some add ons but the barman said she couldn't have that either because that was cocktail stock and it would mess the stock up and he would have to charge us for 3 separate drinks although it was only one. There wasn't much choice of drinks behind the bar either so we left and went into town.
No sockets beside bed to charge phone

Leaving. Would have nice with more time to use the facilities.

Good location easy to park. Staff very helpful. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable. Food was OK dinner and breakfast good choice. Pool, jacuzzi and steam room was clean and warm..
This is an old building, the rooms could do with a refurbishing, especially the bathrooms. Heater didn't work in bathroom. So it was cold to use during the night.

I liked that the hotel was in a convenient location, close to the train station, which made it easy to get around and explore the area. The location was decent and practical for travelling.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel, especially as it was meant to be a special trip for my friend’s 30th birthday. We had booked a room specifically for three adults, advertised as having a double bed and a single bed. However, upon arrival, we were shocked to find only two small beds pushed together with no third bed in sight. When we approached reception to resolve the issue, the staff were completely unhelpful, dismissive, and showed no sense of urgency or care.
They assured us that while we were out for dinner, a single bed would be added to the room. When we returned later that night, we found a flimsy, uncomfortable z-bed instead, hardly suitable for an adult. When we went back to reception again, we were told there was no manager available and were handed a single mattress to sleep on the floor. It was honestly unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the following morning we were abruptly woken before 9am by deafening banging and drilling from ongoing construction work that we were never informed about. The noise continued throughout our stay, along with flickering lights and power sockets that didn’t work. When we returned to reception to complain, the staff remained uninterested and unapologetic, showing no concern whatsoever for the disruption or discomfort caused.
When we finally managed to speak to the manager, he refused to take responsibility and simply referred us back to Booking.com. The entire experience was appalling, from the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy to the poor room conditions and unbearable noise. I would strongly advise others to avoid this property. It completely ruined what should have been a memorable celebration.

Room was ok, but a bit basic for the price. Staff were exceptional, and location great. The building itself was an impressive Victorian hotel.
Not all that clean, though not filthy. The decor is extremely tired, and dated. Pretty much everyone I spoke to agreed- the hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to speed.
