Okay apart from no shower, which was vital.
No shower/1 The shower did not work. It went from scalding hot (Dangerously so) to freezing cold. Impossibe to shower.
We complained to reception requesting a refund. but were told to complain to bookinin.com to get a refund.
The booking was £184 !! We would expect at least a partial refund for no working shower in the room.

5* Stay at the Pitlochry Hotel, we shall return.
The Pitlochry Hydro far exceded our expectations for the price we paid. Our room was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds and right next to the spa which was excellent.
The food was of a very high standard, both the evening meal and the buffet breakfast we couldn't fault.
Staff were friendly and courteous throughout our stay also. Brittany was our waitress and she was charming and helpful.
Another bonus we didn't expect was the live entertainment, a fun night with lots of laughs, Robbie was a character, very entertaining and had is all singing along.
We will definitly be back.
Nothing, it was great!

Comfortable good breakfast, friendly staff but spoiled by the timing of work being done.
Lovely location comfortable beds. Good room size
Work being done in the hotel woke us up every morning between 7-7.30am! Would not have booked property if we had known as felt like living under a dentist with all the drilling.

The accommodation was ok with a decent room size.
Room was a good size. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Location ok, but a hike up the hill at night back from the town.
A bit disappointed with the evening meal of fish and chips. The frozen chips were not all cooked properly. At breakfast on the second morning of our stay the member of staff said we were not booked in for breakfast but it was rectified quickly.

Value ++ would gladly stay again
Good breakfast selection, friendly staff. Had the premium room. Great size! Bit dated but defiantly value for money.

Great stay, appalling service from Booking.com. My initial mistake and appeal for help ignored
Everything superb
Booking.com's lack of reaction to my plea for help. Quite shocking.
I decided to book an additional night but booked 2 nights then forgot to cancel the single night. When I sought help, twice, from booking.com, no response. Nothing.
I have been a loyal supporter of booking.com for years and then this????
I feel very badly let down.

It was a nice hotel we enjoyed our stay. We had dinner in hotel from bar menu and it was really nice and not to expensive. Room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable also so all good. Staff at the check in desk very nice and quickly checked in which is always good.
We were having drinks at the bar but for some reason we couldn't get cocktails at the cocktail bar and the reason was there was no glasses to make them. Never heard this before then my wife was ordering vodka with some add ons but the barman said she couldn't have that either because that was cocktail stock and it would mess the stock up and he would have to charge us for 3 separate drinks although it was only one. There wasn't much choice of drinks behind the bar either so we left and went into town.
No sockets beside bed to charge phone

Better than expected. OK for one night
Good location easy to park. Staff very helpful. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable. Food was OK dinner and breakfast good choice. Pool, jacuzzi and steam room was clean and warm..
This is an old building, the rooms could do with a refurbishing, especially the bathrooms. Heater didn't work in bathroom. So it was cold to use during the night.

I liked that the hotel was in a convenient location, close to the train station, which made it easy to get around and explore the area. The location was decent and practical for travelling.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel, especially as it was meant to be a special trip for my friend’s 30th birthday. We had booked a room specifically for three adults, advertised as having a double bed and a single bed. However, upon arrival, we were shocked to find only two small beds pushed together with no third bed in sight. When we approached reception to resolve the issue, the staff were completely unhelpful, dismissive, and showed no sense of urgency or care.
They assured us that while we were out for dinner, a single bed would be added to the room. When we returned later that night, we found a flimsy, uncomfortable z-bed instead, hardly suitable for an adult. When we went back to reception again, we were told there was no manager available and were handed a single mattress to sleep on the floor. It was honestly unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the following morning we were abruptly woken before 9am by deafening banging and drilling from ongoing construction work that we were never informed about. The noise continued throughout our stay, along with flickering lights and power sockets that didn’t work. When we returned to reception to complain, the staff remained uninterested and unapologetic, showing no concern whatsoever for the disruption or discomfort caused.
When we finally managed to speak to the manager, he refused to take responsibility and simply referred us back to Booking.com. The entire experience was appalling, from the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy to the poor room conditions and unbearable noise. I would strongly advise others to avoid this property. It completely ruined what should have been a memorable celebration.

Enjoyable- great staff, great location but the decor and tired nature of the interior not great.
Room was ok, but a bit basic for the price. Staff were exceptional, and location great. The building itself was an impressive Victorian hotel.
Not all that clean, though not filthy. The decor is extremely tired, and dated. Pretty much everyone I spoke to agreed- the hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to speed.

Breakfast fine and bed fairly comfortable but not much else going for it.
Location
Outdated decor, rooms unwelcoming and guests with gigs able to use any room. Dog owners allowed dogs to lie on sofas and chairs which I think should not be allowed. My room smelt of dog.

Hidden gem
The staff were brilliant. So approachable and eager to help. The room was massive and while on ground floor and next to leisure facilities couldn't hear a thing. While the room was big it was cozy too. Slept very well. The bar staff are great at cocktails too. Bar food hit the spot before we headed out.
Also really enjoyed getting up and having a swim before breakfast which was really good too.
Nothing really.

Lovely charming hotel full of character
The breakfasts were amazing, always well stocked and fresh and for the price good value for money as there was more that enough food to fill up for the day!
The entertainment on the Saturday evening was what would be expected off season, entertaining but never going to win Britains Got Talent or X-Factor.
No policing of the Disabled parking spaces, whines were not properly measured out in the first place. Notwithstanding this, the disabled parking spaces were often occupied by vehicles that were not displaying their blue badges and therefore raises the question as to the legitimacy of their occupation of those spaces was questionable. This lead to inconvenience for us who had a legitimate reason for occupation of those spaces having and elderly and registered disabled family member with us.
Whilst we appreciate that such “private spaces” are probably not enforceable, notices in reception and comments by reception staff asking people not to occupy disabled spaces if not a disabled person would help resolve much of this issue.

Staff friendly, meals were good hotel is tired and dated. Needs new carpets and freshened up.
Bar staff, reception staff, friendly and helpful. Leisure facilities are good, and breakfast and bar meals were very good.
Rooms and corridors are tired and dated, soundproofing between rooms is terrible could hear everything from rooms on either side (rm 12). Did not sleep as we were kept awake with noise, and also woken very early by family in the room next door.

The hotel exceeded our expectations and the food was great.
We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at the Hydro. There was a good selection of food and the cooked breakfast was lovely. The dining room was well decorated and enjoyable to relax and eat in.
The only problem we had at the hotel was that the tv didn't work in the room. Otherwise we had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay at the hotel.

Good Hotel.
Room was adequate and very clean. Pool area was nice but very small jacuzzi. Dinner and breakfast had good choices, and bar area was cosy. Staff very friendly.
The walk back from the town was uphill all the way, but we took the car so didn't bother us.

Convenient location and comfortable stay
I am uncertain as to whether we were given a quiet room, classified as such. However the room was very quiet and conveniently situated. It was the nicest room we have had in all our stays at the PHH. It was very comfortable and spacious.
The water was beautifully hot and a hot bath perfect.
Shower rather disappointing.

What more can be said to illuminate
Breakfast layout did not flow well,as everyone was crossing over each other. The containers with the hot food had nowhere sfae to put the lids., so one just stuck them on the side. Was surprised to see coffee bags inside the pour and serve jugs instead of ground coffee. Food was reasonable, filled a gap. Dinner was tasty, service was good, not sure why the menu stated Chef's Homesade Cauliflower Steak when what turned up was a small whole cauliflower, but it was hot. My steak on the thursday evening was superb.
Bedroom was adequate as it was a single, only snag would be the bath/shower as one would have to stand inside the bathm turn on the shower and hopefully not get burned if the water was too hot and there wasn't a grab bar. It would be a good idea if one of your staff actully turned on the shower and checked what would happen.
I like Pitlochry and I liked the hotel would easily suggest it as a place to stay to my friends, the staff were good.

The location was beautiful and 10 minutes walk to shops
Rooms very basic and bed far too small and feel breakfast should have been included in price

Ok, but rooms are not great and fitness centre is so so
Infrared sauna in the Fitness centre was good.
Lots of parking and good location for access to Pitlochry's main drag.
Didn't use the bar, but looked like it was really nice.
Fitness centre didn't really deserve the name. Pool is only really for kids. Basic weights, a poorly maintained cable machine, some fitness machines, all crammed into a very limited space.
Room was basic, almost like a step back to the 70's, but with a better TV (though the signal kept dropping out so that the movie or show stopped every 10 minutes. Frankly felt more comfortable in a Premier Inn or Travelodge. Doors do not shut quietly unless with a key, which most people don't bother with. So gets very noisy, very early.

2nd stay, needs renovated.
Location and spa facilities, although sauna doesn'tget particularly hot.
Sunday early afternoon reception and bar staff and breakfast staff were great.
The whole place needs renovation. Pretty outdated for the price. No changes within 2 years.
Sunday evening bar staff and Monday morning reception rather awkward and uncommunicative.

Paid way too much for what we got.
Bed comfortable. Breakfast okay.
Room was very disappointing. Very basic, tired looking and in need of a total rehaul especially in the unsuite. Very disappointing.
