Very original setting within a former church. You can feel history blending with modernity. Room was spacious and comfortable. We travelled with a 5-month old baby and everything was well organized to take care of her as well. Breakfast was great, a lot of tasty choices and outstanding setting.
I don't like the toilet being in a different place than the bathroom, but I know this is customary in the Netherlands.

Location beautiful
Beautiful lobby/restaurant but the rooms not comfortable. Banging sounds all night, glass door to the hallway (although we had little steps up to the room). toilet door open at the top, open bathroom (that didn’t close) as well which is not a good combination. Room not fully dark with window hatch-doors. Staff erroneously entered the room in the morning. Didn’t get to also at all.

The location was very nice, right in the centre of Maastricht. The staff was also really nice and helpful!
The room was quite noisy, the was a lot of sound coming from the street and from within the hotel itself in the night.
4.0 / 10.0
the atmosphere in the hotel is very unique and historic, the setting for the restaurant and breakfast is stunning, nice welcome with a glass of champagne, check-in was very pleasant and professional, the staff were friendly and helpful whilst visiting, although not respondent when writing afterwards about our experience to 5 different members of management.
The overall experience was far from 5 star. The corridors and bedroom has a very modern corporate look and not fitting with the historical feel of the hotel, not very big, my partner could not walk between the bed and wall freely and had to turn sideways, the bedroom had a frosted glass wall bathroom built into the room, not separate, just a few feet from the bed right in front of your face and you can see your partner in the toilet, even more so at night when the light is on in the bathroom and the light is off in the bedroom. The light of the bathroom shining through the glass is also too bright in your face and wakes you up. The position of the bed right next to the toilet was bad design. No soundproof bathroom, doors were slide across. Bathroom had a bath which you had to climb into to take a shower. Really? for a 5 star hotel? No kettle to make tea although there were tea bags in the room. Coffee machine did not produce hot enough water. The breakfast was disappointing. Menu states you can only choose one thing but staff says you can have what you like? Which is true? Sickly sweet orange juice, ordinary yoghurt (not creamy or Greek) cold poached egg sat on a mean thin layer of spread avocado and small piece of toast, which was replaced with a bland omelette on request, drinks were from a machine, not proper coffee and the water not hot enough to make good tea, worst tea I ever drank due to water not hot enough, milk is UHT long life milk, not fresh milk, even though I asked for fresh. Neither of us thought the breakfast was good. The only great thing was the cheesecake which was delicious but not really a breakfast item. For 80 euros for 2 the breakfast was outrageously priced. We received a discount for our experience but was not enough for what was paid. 600 euros for 2 nights was crazy for what you actually get in return. and breakfast is extra!!! overall, very disappointing and I don't understand the rave reviews this place gets.

I have nothing to say about a dislike.

Perfect location
Toilet brush still in the toilet bowl on arrival, bin liners on the chair in the room, toilet bowl in need of bleach. For the price could have been better!

Wow what a beautiful building. Blend of old and contemporary in structure and art works.
We felt the rooms were a bit ordinary compared to the pictures on the website. Not an issue but the hotel could show a few photos of their standard room layout. Most of the rooms on the ground are a particular size and layout but they’re not shown on the website

The hotel is a converted church with gorgeous art, stylish decor and incredible atmosphere in the public areas.
The rooms have character but are a bit small. I was in Room 210 and the ceiling is quite low. The room was also quite warm at night.

Rooms were fabulous, quirky but roomy. Veery comfortable and so many amazing features to look at in the original architecture. Great location to walk throughout the city and to the sightseeing cruises., very easy walk.

Beautiful historical hotel - very centrally located. Friendly staff. Parking was also well organised. The hotel umbrellas came in very handy - thank you!
The rooms of the same category are not equal. We booked two rooms from the same category, but the one was much nicer and larger than the other one. The check-in procedure also takes longer than at other hotels. Anything at the front desk seems to take a long time.

Absolutely beautiful!! The transformation of this historic building into a hotel could not highlight the beautiful features and space any better. ALL the staff were so attentive and also provided a wealth of information. The eclectic collection of artwork throughout was fantastic--we were told it is changed out every two weeks. The bar is alluring, but don't miss having drinks in the courtyard. Having the dining area elevated into the main space--well, it was just stunning (as was the breakfast!). Our room was on the main floor and overlooked a garden area. We loved the spacious bath, the high ceilings, the mix of old and new!
We really like and don't mind walking...but if you are looking to be "in the middle of things," this may be a bit of a walk for you. Still...don't miss staying here!

Amazing hotel, great location
At check in staff booked us for dinner at the hotel. When we showed up for dinner, we were told that there is no dinner that day……

Great location
The place looks very unique and beautiful full of art everywhere.
The room you choose on booking is not the room you going to get. Its a type and nit getting the room we ordered was disappointing.
Breakfast is the same everyday, for 2-3 days it’s fine, but after that keep eating the same is quite hard.

Breakfast was good, great location for us to visit friends
There was plaster debris in the bath and the shampoo bottle holder fell off the wall during the night

Location inside old monastery close to Vrijthof square in Maastricht for us to stay before joining vip tour to attend Andre Rieu concert. Stayed in a junior suite on ground level. Lovely selection of wines and cocktails.
A little difficult to navigate with 4 wheel electric scooter if not in ground level rooms although there was a lift. Very little food available from room service or at bar.

It is an impressive building in a great location. This converted church has the wow factor. The bar and restaurant facilities are good and the staff are friendly and efficient.
The designer rooms were rather impractical! There was a TV near the floor at the end of the bed, a plastic leprechaun in the shower and a light switch in the middle of the bathroom mirror.

Amazing hotel set in the old monastery. Fantastic room, spotlessly clean and large comfy bed. Staff are brilliant and go above and beyond to make your stay fantastic.

Good location
The two rooms on the second floor had low ceilings but eventually we were given a ground floor room which was much better

This is a fantastic hotel….breakfast and dinner exceptional….the whole ambiance of the hotel is something you will not regret trying out!
We are of an age where we have to get up several times during the night to relieve ourself….the room we had had a separate toilet however the bathroom and toilet were on opposite sides of the main sleeping area which meant that after you were finished in toilet you had to go past sleeping area and into bathroom to wash hands as there is no wash hand basin in the toilet…..something needs more thought! Other than this minor annoyance everything else was way beyond good/excellent!

Breakfast rating 2 star, it could be better. Not much of a selection to choose from.
Didnt enjoy the cooked breakfast. Bacon beyond crispy with a limited choice of powdered scrambled egg or boiled egg.

The location and building were excellent. It was super clean and very comfortable.
When we arrived we were told that check in would not be done at the desk, in stead they asked us to take a seat on the couch. After 15 minutes, in which other people seemed to be checked in at the desk, did someone come up to us to take some information. After they went back to the desk to enter the information into the computer we waited again, after 20 minutes I went up to the desk to ask if we could have our room key. The guy actually forgot to give it to us, he literally forgot how to do his job.
We may be plebs, but we still paid for a room and it would have been nice to be treated with the same attention as other guests.

Excellent location, beautiful facilities in a renovated monastery.
I was in Room 123 - beautiful room.
However, it was contiguous to the Service area of the Restaurant, with a very thin wall separating and very loud until after midnight with Service people having a post-Service party. I called Reception and the person asked them to stop and they did. Understandably, the 1st Service person who came for the breakfast Service arrived at 6 am. It was a lovely room, but difficult for sleeping.

nice location, beautiful building
for a five star hotel the staff need some training. a do not disturb sign on door means exactly that, it does not mean reception should call room to ask if it can be cleaned. the breakfast staff were strange, there was a buffet with coffee machine and juices laid out, staff said after we had started buffet that they would serve coffee and juice, and that we should move table, this would have been very helpful to know as we walked into dining room. Dinner was mostly good but the wagu is a rip off. in all pleasant location, nice accommodation, some staff not at 5 star level. I have also never known a 5 star hotel to shut bar and ask to sign bill at 11:00 pm.

the main building is perfect, the staff was helpful, the location ist in the center, as many other hotels in Maastricht
pretty old everything, some room might be very uncomfortable (not cosy), found a pair of old socks in our room, double bed in a 5 star hotel should a king size mattress an not two separated beds, parking expensive and you are not allowed to park next to the hotel. If not using public parking you have to use the concierge service; odor of sink in our second room. TV (for us) only few german tv channels an they where pixeled all the time ... if not booking via "booking" minibar not for free ... you have to book a time-slot for breakfast !!! you are on holidays and want to stay in bed (or not) will not be possible unless you book the last slot in the morning (but what if you want to go earlier ...
in summery: go and see the main building, have a coffee or glas of wine and book an other hotel, the rooms are not what you expect in a 5 star hotel

Located in the heart of Maastricht, barely five minutes walk from the famous Christmas markets, shops and eateries, this is a unique hotel built in a converted church. The staff is attentive and courteous, the food and drink are amazing and their restaurant is on the mezzanine floor in the high roof church building, the first time we have seen something like this.
A must stay hotel!!!
