The place was cute. The pool area was nice.
We arrived at 1:45pm and was told we could leave our bags outside while they finished our room. We left our bags in an open area next to a dripping AC unit. We came back at 2:50pm to put our bags in the room and were told the room wasn't ready and that it would be ready right at 3pm. Around 3:15 we finally get a room, and they took us to a room with one single bed, when I had booked a larger 3 bed room. We go back downstairs to the reception, and end up with the room right by the utility closet and front desk. After we finally got our luggage inside, we noticed they never finished cleaning because there was a big pile of dirt on the floor. Also as a heads up - the utility closet is extremely noisy- so this room is awful for light sleepers.
After our two days, we checked out at 12 to follow policy, but didn't have our flight until later that evening. We asked if there was a closet that we could leave our bags in, and the response was "You can pay $1,400 pesos to keep your room until 6pm, or you can leave it outside in the open area." Our flight was at 10pm, so we left it in the open area and sent someone back every hour to check on it.
Over-all not really sure $160 a night makes sense for the atmosphere here. Started on the wrong foot and the attitude when asking to leave our bags was annoying.

Pool area, vibe, location
Small room and bathroom. Dogs barking and roosters making noise all night. Cleaning staff and Fitness class in the morning was loud.

The room we selected was a cute cottage with a kitchenette and refrigerator and a small working AC in the bedroom area.
The mattresses are cheap, sleep was not very comfortable. The linens were old, to the point that some had holes. They’re very skimpy on towels and will only give you clean towels every three days. The bathrooms are small. There is no tv in the room. Because of the proximity of the room to the restaurant/ bar and pool it was super loud and you can hear everything through the walls. The hotel is advertised as a yogi retreat hotel and when we arrived there were about 20+ super drunk women in being incredibly loud. They kept us up past 2:30 am. Thankfully they were gone the next day but our first impression of the place was not good. The location is very far from the downtown area. In the surf/ party side of town, up a very steep hill. I understand that it’s an adult resort and the location situation was our fault for not researching better. Overall, the property itself is beautiful but did not live up to how it’s advertised online.

Location and pool were the only plus.
Rude staff besides the night guy, no ac for two nights. I bought the biggest unit but was yelled at about my nephew when my younger cousins stayed not to long ago, and we booked because they loved it... and when we checked out late they didnt help us at all with bags and yelled at us for reentering our room even though we communicated clearly and had to come back for our bags, it hadnt even been cleaned yet... very disappointed soooo not worth the money better options with nicer people around.

Had a brilliant stay at Casa de Olas. The hotel is in a great location, lots of shops/ bars/ restaurants near by. The pool was also great and rarely ever busy. We had a room with a balcony and it was a lovely place to relax. The staff were very friendly too. Would recommend!

Great location. Friendly staff.
Aircon unit in the room was mouldy so we didn’t use it as it made us feel ill after 1 night. We booked as it looked like a hostel style atmosphere on the listing and photos but the rooftop bar wasn’t open for our stay and we weren’t advised of any yoga classes etc. so it felt quite misleading - we would have booked another nicer hotel had we known.

The pool was great we basically had it to ourselves. It was super clean and the staff came and cleaned our room every day. The staff were super friendly and helpful really made us feel comfortable and were always asking if they could help with anything. The studio upstairs was great we done a yoga class and then cooled off in the pool! Location was great - Would defs recommend

I loved everything about this boutique hotel. Beautifully designed to give it a zen feel. All the staff were very welcoming and lovely throughout my stay. The property and grounds are well maintained. Lots of different seating areas and shade. The pool was fabulous for cooling off. Everywhere was immaculate. I had breakfast every morning and dinner a couple of times. The food was beautifully presented and good quality. The prices food and drinks were also very reasonable. I had a balcony room overlooking the pool, which was nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable. I didn’t attend the fitness / yoga classes, but they had a good schedule. I also liked that it was a short walk from all the hustle and bustle of the bars and restaurants. The lack of WiFi in my room wasn’t an issue for me. I could get it on my balcony and in the communal areas.

It was only minutes away from the hot spots of La Punta, as well as the main road needed to venture to other areas.
Security gates that were locked after a specific time during the week and on weekends.
Shred hosted workout classes at the property - making it easily accessible for those looking to exercise. The property also has their own equipment, for a free workout.
On site restaurant and bar!
The he website definitely makes the property look to me much more updated than it is in real life. While not a complete turn off, it is misleading.
Advertised free sun hats, never saw these and a rooftop palapa bar which during our entire stay never seemed to be open.

We didn’t get breakfast there
Staff was not very friendly they were always talking amongst each other didn’t really care if there was guest around them, they continue talking them on to each other not friendly. They charge us 150 pesos to use the umbrella to go to the beach, which I thought was odd. I would not recommend to stay there. The room was hot when we entered. It seems like they turned off the air conditioning after they’re done cleaning the room and so when you get back to your room, it’s very hot Wi-Fi sucked.

Lovely clean and pretty hotel - the bar and food were great and lovely pool area.
There was significant noise disruptions during our stay. Building work started at 6.45am we also had knocks on our doors very early and also cleaners banging around at 6am. We mentioned this to reception and the manager but nothing was done. We would have appreciated knowing their was building works happening as we came away for a relaxing break and even sat by the pool you just heard banging all day.

The facilities of the hotel are great, with a nice swimming pool which was never too crowded, and even basic weights to do workouts. It is just a few minutes away walking to the beach so the location is great as well.
They also have a little spa in the hotel which I really recommend, it was great.
Perhaps its because of the nature of Puerto Escondido, but we found the hotel to be on the loud side and we were not always able to properly rest. Every single night there was someone very loudly doing boxing until 11 pm (they told us this is when the quiet hours start) which is ok, but also, from quite early in the morning (around 8 am and even before) and throughout most of the day there were very loud constructions going on both inside the hotel and next to it so it was hard to sleep until late or have naps. Every single day.

Nice pool and everything was constantly cleaned. The location was also nice. Just a 5 minute walk from all the buzz. So definitely not too far away, just right. Also there are options to do sports.
We had a room next to the sporting facility. Even though it is not bothering that much, it does give quite some noise. If you want some rest specifically at that moment, then you are going to have a hard time. However, in the morning they start at reasonable times, and they finish at reasonable times in the afternoon. Not really bothering.
One small thing is that the sporting facilities need a small touch-up. You can see it is there for quite some years already.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The helpful and friendly staff really made the stay more pleasurable. The view from our room was beautiful, the studio on the top floor was very appreciated and I did really lovely yoga classes twice. You get a little discount for being a guest at the hotel.
My only criticism would be the lunch menu wasn't that great for vegetarians. If the quality and variation of food was improved this I would have rated this hotel as exceptional.

Super bohemian and nice common area! Good food and drinks for an ok price. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. If you wanted a tour or a taxi they were a great help. AC in the rooms is really good. Nice to get a massage and plus for the gym and all the workout classes!
Wish the workout classes were free for guests.

Very nice boutique hotel. Only spent a night, but the ac was great. The bed comfy. Pools and garden looked great and calming. Wonderful view and balcony. Good breakfast and juices available. Pretty central to the zicatela core area.
The street itself of the hotel is in bad condition, wouldn't want to pull a trolley here. And the yoga classes next to our room were a bit loud.

Loud. Could hear the gym class for a few hours a day

Nice quiet location.. Around the pool was lovely … Had a really nice tropical feel with trees and birds.
Free bikes to explore the coast which was great.
Pink flamingo in the pool set a bit of a precedent for some guests who treated it like a hostel. Access is all by unmade road..

Clean, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, super nice tennis court, mellow pool area with towels and hats to borrow if you needed, yoga at the hotel, good food.
There was unfortunately some construction going on when we were there but that is not typical. It was a plumbing/pipe problem that they had to fix.

Close to restaurants and beach (you can’t swim there!)
There is no wifi in the rooms, the bed was dirty and they didn’t let us check in earlier even if the room was available.

The hotel had lots of great communal areas - loved the pool and rooftop bar. Good food selection at the bar and the staff were really friendly. Room was nicely decorated and had great AC.
The wifi wasn’t very good in our room. The walk from the main Punta Playa strip to the hotel was down a dark, quiet road.

The location in La Punta is perfect. It’s a few minutes walk away from the beach. After a dat at the besch there is a nice pool to chil. Rooms are clean.
The WiFi connection is really bad. There wasn’t a connection at all in the room we had. Also at the central point/reception WiFi is bad. We had a room for two persons but it was a bit small.

Staff were amazing! Very friendly. Place felt super clean and super safe with the night guard. Suitcase storage was helpful. Staff went out of their to way to organise additional transport for us. Special thanks to Josmar, super helpful.
As our bathroom window faced the foyer and appeared to be jammed open, we could see/hear people eating breakfast while we showered as we couldn’t close the window.
