The hotel and location were great, the private beach was amazing.
Upon arrival the staff asked us about allergies (it’s nuts) and brought complimentary dish with nuts with our first lunch. My allergies are serious so I was puking and choking the whole day and night afterwards. I lost a day of my stay stuck in the toilet and felt nauseous for the rest of my trip in Mexico.
The staff said they were sorry and offered a 10% discount on food and drinks; this didn’t even cover the cost of the lunch that poisoned me and was less than the tips we left. It feels like a slap in the face to be honest.
The staff asked for my allergies at arrival so I didn’t expect to have to be 100% alert and vigilant with every meal.

Facility was well managed and staff was VERY Supportive. Wanted you to be happy all the time.
Front desk lost track of requests from time to time
The Ocean was beautiful but not swimmable due to rip tides and undertow all days we were there

The staff are friendly and helpful. The location was amazing and when we moved our room to upstairs the view was excellent with a balcony.
It would have been nice to get a tour of the property. The worst part was the small and could be cleaner pool. The pool area is disappointing behind hedges with hot stones and slippery tile. The downstairs rooms we were given was bad. The door didn't fully close and the AC blows right on the bed. No real closet. We asked to be moved and after 2 nights they moved us. I would go back but only if in one of the upstairs rooms. Our experience in the restaurant was ok, but there are so many places in walking distance.

We stayed in the villa and had the great privilege of two AMAZING chefs —Angie & Miguel
Our trip was already fantastic but they made it even more special. Thanks to both of you!

Loved it all!

The premises were lovely, as were the staff. Great location; not too close to La Punta, but not too far either. Made for a very laid-back, easy atmosphere. Great food as well!
Very little. Really enjoyed the place! Can’t think of too much to improve upon.

This property has it all. Genuinely. Couldn’t recommend it more. The staff really make this experience though. That must be said. Every query, question etc was dealt with promptly. I had the huge privilege of being able to be incredibly lazy. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity. Their in-house kitchen can cook up a treat. The prices are fair and they have wonderful sunset views that are timed alongside a happy hour. What is not to love.
‘We can’t control the weather’ - a true statement. I just want to note: the sea itself is difficult to swim in. They have a gorgeous pool that captures the sunlight for those who love a tan. However, if you want to be diving into the ocean. I must say you won’t be able to generally speaking. That said, the ocean air really ramps up the relaxation and is a treat in itself.

Staying at Casa Joseph was a dream come true! Such a beautiful place right on the beach, the view from our oceanview room was fantastic. The ammenities in the rooms and around the accommodation are great, the pool area is lovely and the beach beds are a huge asset! The location is great, out of the hustle and bustle of town and doesn’t feel too touristy, but there are still other options for eating and drinking nearby (not that you need to leave the hotel, the food and drinks are wonderful!) The staff here were all so lovely and went above and beyond, and this is what really made the stay so special for us. We did the bioluminescence tour organised by the hotel which exceeded expectations. Loved the morning yoga too. I’d love to come back here one day! Highly recommend.
Just to be aware swimming in the ocean by the hotel is not recommended due to large waves! Prices can be higher than elsewhere (i.e ATV hire) but the service is so good.

The property is amazing and the service is very good. It is definitely the best hotel to stay in Puerto Escondido!
The only two things that I didn't fully like:
1. All the services that they provide are extremely overprice (food, taxi service, tours, etc) - you are better of getting those yourself and it takes the same amount of time
2. There is a "cleaning tip" for the cleaning staff that they add to your bill at the end. It is not a big amoung but feels very low to charge it like that

We really loved the aesthetic of the property. We loved how close it was to the beach and the privacy we had when lounging at the beach. We loved the pool area. The hotel was not crowded. The entire staff was AMAZING and very attentive. We loved how they knew our names. The food and drinks at the property were very good!
The bathroom could have been slightly roomier. The space between the toilet and wall could have been a bit wider for leg room.

A fantastic sea view and super friendly and helpful staff made our stay a unique experience. The food in the restaurant and the drinks at the bar were unbeatably delicious.

Everything, we stayed in the Villa. It had a private pool, jacuzzi, chef, and beach. It was easily the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. I wish I could live there. And the bed, OMG the bed was the best I've ever slept in, with the best sheets and the best pillows. I would give this place 100 stars if I could.
Nothing, everything was perfect, no notes.

The property is very nice! Location is excellent.
The service they try to sell is that of a boutique hotel and we had few incidents. There was a constant sewer smell in and outside our room, without resolution with the candle they provided. Also they tried to contact me outside the booking app, to cancel my reservation offering special promos on massage, this was pretty shady, since I have heard couple of experiences from other hotels where third parties would scam. Also, a lady forgot her key and asked the staff to open our room while we were inside without verifying if it was her room.

We truly loved everything about Casa Joseph. Its design, the people, the location, the food and the overall ambient. Our room was not big but our balcony was large and had ocean view, we loved it. Their service and their employees were super nice. We liked the beach a lot, it is very large and it has a restaurant, also gets this amazing sunset. During the day, they surprise you with mini offers at the beach, which were also very nice. (Sometimes frozen fruits, sometimes mezcal cocktail shots) Every night they had a live music, it was cute. The location of the hotel is also good, you are 10min away from La Punta where all the restaurants and bars are. All in all, highly recommend this place, you will leave very happy.
Honestly there is nothing that we did not like about the property.

It was a beautiful location on a relatively quiet beach, with unique amenities.
My family and I had rented the only freestanding villa on the property, for our small family of three, which was intended for a party of six. It was lovely, and a great value for the nights we had stayed. Included was twice a day maid service, and a full-time chef from the hours of 7 AM to 11 PM. Every attention detail was provided. The freestanding villa had its own entrance, and direct access to the beach, that was guarded by two security dogs, and a 24 hour security guard. There’s very high attention to detail, even if footprints were left in the sand, no more than five minutes later, they would be combed away by the on-site facility caretaker.
Because we’re so well taken care of in the villa, we didn’t have an opportunity to partake in the main hotels services. However, they do include beach access, public pool, spa, and yoga facilities.
I would absolutely return again. The highlight of the trip was enjoying every single meal in serenity, with unopposed views of the ocean.
Nothing! It was lovely. Ants did become an issue, but that’s just the nature of being on the beach.

Incredible experience all round. We loved all the facilities, the rooms, the breakfast and the yoga and massage. The food and drinks were all delicious, the live music was great and the staff were perfect.
Great location, quiet and peaceful yet close to everything we needed.
We hope to return!

A little heaven place. Beautiful design, very peaceful, nice music, great views and activities. Top Beach staff.
The rooms are bright and not well insulated. Didn’t sleep well with the noise outside the hotel like dogs, roosters all night, ATVs… (not the hotel’s fault, but should’ve been built better).
The hotel food could be better.

Great location, AC in rooms was great, staff was fast
Breakfast wasn’t great especially for the price per night and compared to other higher end hotels in the area. Pool seemed to be taken over by day pass guests. Coffee was horrible. Felt like value for money wasn’t fully there

The staff and the food was great It is well located and the yoga teacher was great also.
The manager was nice and accommodating.
We took the only villa and it wasn’t clean at our arrival there was blood under the broken toilet seat.
Housekeeping team brought sand in the villa and did not clean anything. Instead they took selfies on the rooftop terrace, in front of us.
We felt uncontrollable in a dirty villa.

It feels like Mexico, unlike playa or Cabo. Very authentic and genuine. My wife is from Monterey, MX and she loved it as well.
Hotter showers - think the wind kept blowing the pilot light out but luckily it was very hot. Also, let’s do larger water bottles instead of the tiny ones - happy to pay for them and it’s more eco friendly.

Beautiful, peaceful, high quality, nature based, and super yummy food.
Only one thing: Pillows a bit too hard and synthetic.
9.0 / 10.0
Quiet place with amazing beach views and sundowners. The staff is incomparably polite, likeable and take care of you all the time. Every night a band plays and it is wonderful to have dinner at the beach. The food quality is very good as well. Very good breakfast. Yoga and meditation are a must. Marta is an excellent yogi with a lot of experience and peaceful energy. It was a delight to start and end the day with her. How the staff and hotel manager reacted whenever we had something to address and tried to make our stay as wonderful as announced.
There is no lounge area with air conditioning. There are no full toilets with shower at the pool. There is one small toilet that might be busy sometimes. The umbrellas are heavy and not flexible to guarantee shadow at any time. Charging tip on every bill - even on the breakfast that is included in the price (they charge 15% of the value of your breakfast - even if the breakfast itself isn’t charged).

Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely, so comfortable and always cleaned well. Food was amazing, beach was amazing. Wifi really good everywhere even on the beach.
Nothing negative to say really, everything was great.
