The location is ideal- away from the noisy main street but within easy walking distance of the beach and restaurants. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our room had a quiet and efficient air conditioner so it was easy to sleep at night. The staff were very friendly and Eric in particular. He fixed breakfast for us each of the 8 days we were staying and the fruit bowl was delicious and very good value.
There was no information pack in the room but we soon figured out everything that we needed to know.

The pool needs some TLC. It was a bit cloudy and there was a light in the pool that needed repair (exposed wiring). Other than that the hotel was pretty amazing. The location was ideal (5 min walking to the hustle and bustle of town but far enough away that it was quiet and relaxing). The staff was super friendly and accommodating (they also make a delicious iced americano). The property is new and has been updated and furnished nicely.
Could use some pool TLC and some furniture on the outdoor balconies. Also the hot water in our shower was a bit wonky. All and all was a good stay and would stay again.

I had the opportunity to stay at Casa Umi a couple of years ago, and this time, I was positively surprised by the renovation and refurbishment the hotel has gone true; the deluxe room I stayed at was amazing, Good size, with a small sitting area, great space for computer and desk, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable beds and sumptuous linen, the double seal doors and windows allowed me to sleep without any external noise,
I recommend this hotel. Levi, the manager, was valuable with local recommendations; thank you.
All was good

LOVE this place - I stayed here for the first part of my trip, then switched hotels - and I loved it so much that I ended up coming back! the staff are seriously soooo incredibly nice and friendly and welcoming.
beds are super comfy too. rooms are spacious and it feels very luxe, at very reasonable price.
amazing location in La Punta as well
the pool wasn’t really maintained well while i was there (but I noticed on the day I left it was being cleaned)

Gorgeous, well decorated, large and comfortable room, balcony views out to the sea and we could see the sunset from our bedroom! all the facilities were excellent and the staff were super accommodating and went out of their way to support us in every way possible! would 100% stay here again.
Honestly, I have 0 complaints. It was perfect!

locks on doors didnt work well. No facilities, no water in room etc.

We stayed in Villa Bichi which was a unique and beautiful property. Great location. Excellent service from reception staff. Short walk from the beach and restaurants/bars.
The cleaning service could have been more thorough as it didn’t seem like they had swept the floor which is helpful for a sandy beach holiday. The pool pump is on a timer and I think earlier in the day would be better.

The location for Casa Umi is GREAT, it's easily accesible, walking distance from the beach and everything that is going but also apart enough that it's quiet. The pool is a great way to escape the heat and beach.
The pillows and bed linens were not great, they just give you a top sheet but since it's quite warm it's not a problem. The facilities are basic but comfortable

excellent location, friendly staff, aesthetically pleasing
unreliable and weak internet, hot water was limited and ran out, ants in the room

The location is great, just outside of the busy area of Punta Zicatela. The rooms are very nice, huge bed and spacious place and nice minimalist hotel approach.
The first big disappointment was the pool. It was full of leaves and looked green and murky. I definitely didn't look swimmable and I never saw anyone get in it. I was looking forward to a morning swim and it just didn't look inviting. I told the receptionist about this but he said it was normal... Secondly, the keys to the doors were such a pain. All the guests were struggling with them. When I finally got assistance from the receptionist (who is only there a few hours a day), and he showed me the trick to using the key, it was then easier to open the door. The wifi was also cutting out constantly (you would not be able to work here reliably). We also had ants climbing up our wall above our bed which the receptionist took care of. Just wish there was someone there taking better care of the facilities.

Great location, near the restaurants, but without noise. Helpfull when they were there. Clean rooms with good space. Good scooter renting service.
Rarely someone from the hotel was there, so that complicated everytime you wanted something Also the Wi-Fi was really really bad all the time wich made complicated to do reservations, check ins, even whatsapp was Hard to get to work... No hair dryer

the location doesn’t seem that 120m2, we have a neighbor dog barking over the night close to the door. it’s impossible to sleep. the kitchen is not well equipped. the swimming pool is in the shade.

What a gorgeous and architecturally considered accomodation. We loved that Casa Umi was a little bit off of the main area which meant it was quiet. The room was lovely, private (we had a big tree giving us shade and privacy from the patio), and I appreciated the big bathroom and seating area. The bed was particularly comfortable (I like a firm bed)! We loved having access to a kitchen and made our own breakfast most days - there were common supplies and various appliances like a blender and a fridge to keep things in. You can rent great scooters from Casa Umi too and we did this for our entire stay. The staff was absolutely fantastic and not only helpful with arranging taxi's, helping us with getting a short flight arranged, and anything to do with our room, but we also had great conversations about life, culture, and Dia de los Muertos traditions that helped us to understand things more deeply. The staff even put up balloons and well wishes for me in the room on my birthday; it was so thoughtful and kind.
We have no complaints about our stay (which was for 8 nights at Casa Umi.) It was a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday and a great place for couples.

I am a solo female traveler and safety was my top concern. Casa Umi has a main front door that only residents and staff have the key to as well as a different key to lock your individual room. It was walking distance to everything I wanted to do, the beach, restaurants, shops and other activities. Daniel was very helpful during my stay.
The wifi was spotty so I had to switch between that and using my data. Not a huge deal given the area. I would’ve liked if the room had a tv. It would’ve been interesting to see what shows in Mexico are like. I also would’ve liked a complimentary breakfast, nothing extravagant just some local fruit or something. Although this didn’t bother me but I had a couple of lizards be roommates with me during my stay. Same thing happens in Florida so I’m used to that but I could see how that might bother others. It’s also noisy at night with dogs barking and roosters but again didn’t bother me because I’m used to that as well.
