Great location, lovely room with wonderful staff

It’s centrally located with easy access to all the main tourist attractions. The staff is lovely and helpful. The room is spacious and super clean. It included toiletries, which is becoming rarer these days. The room had a kitchenette with a coffee machine and a large closet to hang clothes etc.

The bathroom needs some maintenance and the shower floor is slippery. They could probably benefit from a new mattress. I barely slept as the mattress was hard and sloped to the center. However, other guests may prefer that.

Great location, room and staff

Well located. Old building. Large room, high ceilings, lovely decor. Reception staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

Ideally, the stairs would be a bit better lit. Our room (Smart Suite) which had a small ‘kitchen in a cupboard’ could have done with a bit more kit eg saucepan).

Very poor I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere

Location was good

The photos were inaccurate. It was a one room cell, without service, a cold shower, sporadic internet and broken coffee machine. Beds cramped together. Sofa beds creaked. No lift. We asked about help to get back to the station and he gave us a none working taxi app no effort trying to give us instructions about the bus system or private transfer. Way too expensive for not much

Superb, a small insight into the private Bologna

If you want a slice of what it may be like to live in Bologna these suites give a taste. You get to see what lies behind the big doors that line the streets.The building is full of character, not the overly curated, could be anywhere vibe of chain hotels. The rooms are top quality and very comfortable. It's a short walk to the centre and you have many local bar / restaurant options. We'd definitely stay again.

Our stay at Gregorini Bingham Art Luxury Suites was comfortable, convenient and relaxing.

The comfort of the bed and room was excellent. We felt comfortable and safe during our stay. The breakfast at the local coffee shop was fine. The location was awesome. An easy walk to Piazza Maggiore, which became our starting point for tours, museums etc. The staff was helpful and informative.

The 65 stairs needed to get to our room. We of course navigated it and appreciate the preservation of old buildings. There is one section of stairs that didn't have a handrail or area to hold on to. Being 78 with a knee replacement I appreciate the safety of something secure to use on stairs.

A lovely place marred by a couple of simple, avoidable issues.

Location, size and general quality.

Shower head was broken so did not work properly. It would have been very quick and easy to replace but the property were unable to do it. The bathroom bin was also full on arrival. Again a simple pre check in check would have rectified this.

Interesting lodgings but unsuited for people of advancing years

We liked the spacious room, the staff were friendly and efficient and the location was within reasonable walking distance of the old town centre

The photos on Booking.com site were deceptive as the building although interesting was really in need of some renovation, and even though the room was nice we would never had booked it if we had known it could only be accessed by three floors of a steep staircase. We were told only two days before we arrived to limit our luggage for this reason!

overall fine stay but with some problems as mentioned above

very friendly staff, top location in the heart of Bologna, room and bed fine, very nice old building.

1. very critical to load and unload luggage from the car because no stop nor parking allowed on busy road. 2. for sporty and young people ok to go up 65 stairs 2 floors, but for people in certain age and with big luggage extremely difficult if not impossible. 3. for a luxury suite we expect bathrobes in the room but got only towels

Historic room close to Bologna’s foodie centre

Convenient location within 10mins walk of the central square. Large and historic room with 20-30ft ceilings a double bed and sofa bed. 20% discount in the cafe next door

3 flights of long stairs - pack light and if you aren’t up to the climb I’d look elsewhere. Limited parking available on site (chargeable) but only for small cars. Our car was too large (Nissan Qashqai) so we were directed to another parking garage about 15mins walk away (budget €30 per day)

Good size room but bad smell.

Very big room, beautiful building, decent location.

There was a bad smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. We told staff twice but no action was taken and we weren’t offered any kind of compensation. It was our honeymoon and the smell did ruin it a bit for us.

Very nice rooms, it was clean, and it had nice amenities in the room. I enjoyed my stay there a lot. It exceeded my expectations, and it's also a very charming hotel.

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful apartment.

It is a stunning apartment. A huge space which was very cool. It was lovely to pop back in the afternoons to cool down and have a rest before we enjoyed the evening out.

Clean and spaccious rooms in a good and central locations.

There wasn't any lift so we had to walk up a lot of stairs each day. The staff we nice but not super useful, they weren't able to help with specific information about tours to do.

Absolutely beautiful design accommodation in a stunning historic building. It was truly an experience. The room was incredibly spacious, with everything I needed. I stayed only one night, but I would have loved to stay longer. The location is also fantastic – just a few steps from the lovely café Lampadina. I can only recommend it!

Caution over individual room bookings

The booking.com photographs. The staff were polite and apologetic as to our disappointment over the room but could not relocate us during our 3 night stay. Breakfast in the eatery next door was a delight.

For us the property did not live up to the photographs. We were in a standard sized hotel room which had been billed as a deluxe suite. Please don't get caught out like us, be careful when booking a 'specific' room as the sizes vary hugely. Also the rooms to the back of the building are much quieter than the street side rooms. You need to be fit to walk the stairs up to third floor as well!

A fabulous stay

The building, the room and the decoration were very traditional which we loved. Frescos on the ceiling, a window that looked out into a garden courtyard and a spacious clean room with the choice of air-con and complementary Nespresso coffee. I wanted to stay somewhere that wasn’t in the centre, away from the noise but in walking distance to the main attractions. This was a great stay, friendly staff and a good location. We would recommend!

Nothing, we knew about the stairs before from other reviews but that wouldn’t bother us and it didn’t. There was nothing to dislike.

Very central location and in a historic building. They also gave us a larger room which was available at the time we arrived. Reception staff were very kind and considerate.

Only aspect was that the air conditioning was on all the time. Not a major problem however it would have been nice to be able to switch it off. The room was large and did not need it given the time of year.

The rooms were very spacious with air conditioning as well as the option to open windows in both bath and bedroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet with private views. Parking was underground and secure. The hotel has great bones.

The furnishings in the room lacked grandeur and style and the staircase was uncared for, with dying plants and a dirty carpet at the top.
