I didn't have breakfast, but the evening meal was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. the location is stunning and the accommodation is clean and well maintained.

This is by no means aimed at the Hotel or it's staff, but because I stayed in the older part of the building there was no air conditioning, so I had to sleep with the windows open through the night. As my room was fairly close to a running river I was devoured through the night by mosquito's! I understand the restrictions on installing air conditioning into older buildings, so once again, this is not aimed at the Hotel or the staff, everything else was perfect!

Waited a while to be asked what we would like. When breakfast finally arrived my husband’s was good. Mine Avocado on toast with poached eggs - eggs were hard - when I put a knife in yokes were hard boiled. This was changed but I had to wait. Meanwhile my husband had finished his. On leaving we went to pay as we were room only. The Waitress didn’t charge us because of waiting time and my breakfast. Surely chef or staff know how to poach an egg!

Make sure bins are emptied especially in car park where Pooh bags are put in bins.

In a great location close to attractions. The grounds are extensive and there is lots to do for a family i.e. outdoor games, little play area for kids, walking along the stream etc. There is a restaurant, bar and pub on site which is handy. Staff are friendly

The hotel was unfortunately quite dirty. The carpet in our room had very obvious large stains and didn't look like it had been vacuumed very well. The bath tub was stained and there were hairs (from previous guests shaving I'm assuming) above the sink. Just generally dusty and in need of a good refresh. Carpet in the hallways of the hotel were similar. Cleanliness should be a given, but at almost £300 per night for our suite, we definitely had higher expectations.
