A perfect stay in a spacious room, thoughtful decor, the coziest restaurant and a delicious breakfast!

Comfortable room if a little on the small size. Great shower, food was good. Friendly staff.
Didn’t realise hot breakfast wasn’t included though extra cost was more than reasonable! And it was delicious!
Room a little pokey with quite a lot of noise from kitchen.

Fabulous Continental style breakfast. Original room was noisy so quickly moved to a much quieter one. Gorgeous bed, very comfortable.
As an Air B&B host I am particularly critical of the showers in any property. This one needed a bit of bleach and a scrub on the grouting at the base.

We first stayed at The Lamb in 2004 and this was our seventh visit, although we haven’t stayed since 2009. It is a lovely old inn full of character and each room is different.
It was all lovely

Cosy, nice rooms, comfy beds.
Main staff were excellent. (Plus female waitress in restaurant)
Lovely food.
A little chaotic around 5pm with some tables not cleared and number of kids/families leaving mess.

Location. Parking. Bar & restaurant. Staff. Rooms were nicely finished. Breakfast was fantastic.
Room was too small. Shower and toilet are within the bedroom; no separate bathroom. No wardrobe or draws. Door for our room wasn’t well fitted therefore allowed sound and light through the bottom of our door, from the communal hallway, which wasn’t ideal, and didn’t feel safe.
Someone tried to get into our bedroom twice in the night. Could have been another guest but at 2am I’m unsure.
There needs to be better fitted doors, more secure locks (they’re flimsy) and some thought around floor layout. Hopefully, other rooms are better. I wonder whether we had the smallest room at the property, which is a shame as my wife and I were staying for my 30th birthday and we informed them of this in advance.

Breakfast was delicious. The bar and restaurant area are so cosy and just what you want from a traditional inn.
The pillows were feather and flattened as soon as you put your head on them. Not great for those with allergies either. Tiny room, but nicely decorated. Needed to be able to open bathroom window to stop condensation after a shower but couldn't. Bedroom window was right on to extractor fan from kitchen and was noisy when then kitchen staff arrived first thing in the morning. Lack of light outside the hotel rooms meant walking down the steps wasn't easy.

Very clean, close to everything we wanted to visit, in a quiet location. Room had everything you need for a short stay. Bed was very comfortable.
Toilet in the room was good to have but it was very small- could not be helped because of the size of the room.

We liked the quaintness and character of the place
Bedroom above the bar area had music pumping through the floor from speakers mounted on bar area celing.
We had an infestation of ladybirds on ceiling and aound window. We didn't dine in as we sat for 20 minutes without any attantion except having a vase of water put on our table, they need more waiting or bar staff.

Very good breakfast
Paid for flat white as alternative to included cafetière. Bit unnecessary.
Excellent dinner menu and very high standard cooking.
Room 6 noisy because of extractor from kitchen. Possibly good idea to warn guests. Although it does go off after close of kitchen.

Breakfast was nice, unusual to pay for hot food, but the continental was great. Mathew made me a virgin Bloody Mary which was a fun twist on breakfast.
Everyone was very friendly and we also had a lovely evening meal there.
All good.

We spent 3 nights at this gorgeous Cotswold pub at the end of Aug 2025. We were blown away with how lovely the pub was. We arrived and checked in which was a little confusing as there are many doors to access the property and there is no reception desk. We were shown to our room which was beautiful - room 2. We dumped our bags and went for a drink. We had a dinner booking at 6pm. The food was lovely however I was surprised that my fish dish - Brill, didnt come with a potato side. At £26 for the dish I would have expected to actually get a whole meal rather than having to pay £6 for a few new potatoes. We had 1 drink each and 2 meals which cost us £74- a tad steep IMO.
We had a few more drinks after an evening walk then went up to bed. Unfortunately, bedroom 2 is above the bar and is extremely noisy. We could hear people conversations and the music very clearly. This noise went on until 12.30am even though the pub shut at 11am. We did speak with Matthew and the management the next day and they were very understanding and upgraded us to room 10 which was absolutely stunning and very quiet- perfect for a evening chilling in the lovely bath!
They serve a 'continental' breakfast which consists of toast, with jams, peanut butter or chocolate spread, cereal, some fruit and crossiants. Tea and basic coffee is included but any sort of Latte or cappuccino is charged extra as is any sort of cooked breakfast. I did find it a disappointment that a better breakfast wasn't included in the price. After dining at the Crown down the road, they include a brilliant breakfast and the price for rooms was similar to The Lamb Inn.
On Sundays they have half price pizzas which was a lovely surprise. Overall we had a lovely stay which was only made possible with the change of room. Big thank you to Matthew who was so super helpful and really made our stay great.
Would we stay again? Yes. Would we eat there again? No.
The breakfast needs to be better.
Food prices - we shouldnt have to pay extra to complete a whole meal.

Lovely Pub/Inn full of character.
Lovely outdoor space.
Bed was super comfortable, and room was lovely, linen and towels of a very high quality.
We booked dinner for our first evening and the food was lovely.
Only criticism was no mirror in main bedroom to style hair.

The room was lovely, and shower was great, food on offer was lovely and check in and out were very easy.
Staff at dinner were a little slow and unenthusiastic. Breakfast was included, but only a cold buffet, everything else was chargeable. It’s quite expensive, but I suppose that’s just the area now. .

It was beautiful and our room was perfect!
Literally nothing

It had very good bedding and lovely fluffy towels and robes.
Room was tiny and very hot. Smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. It had an industrial vent just outside window, which they said wouldn’t be on during the night but it came on at 2 am and went on and off but came on permanently at 6.30 on Sunday morning! They gave us a fan but didn’t work. The breakfast was continental so you had to pay more for cooked breakfast £12 - I could have missed this on the booking but only remember it saying breakfast included. The lady serving breakfast was surly and the tables weren’t clean. The 2nd night after getting back late from a wedding, I noticed after 1 trip to the toilet we had no paper left. They hadn’t put a new roll on and there was no spare - very bad housekeeping. Bathroom smelt musty. I’m not a complainer normally but when checking out the surly lady asked if we had enjoyed our stay - it sounded very robotic question and not liked she cared. I explained about the heat and the vent and lack of toilet roll which she apologised for but it didn’t sound genuine just something she should say. My aunt stayed 1 night in the hotel and her room wasn’t as bad heat and noise wise but was again very small.

Nicely furnished and simple without trying too hard.
Good food.
Not much room in the bedroom to put a suitcase. Bedroom window was straight into the courtyard which impacted privacy.

Quaint old English pub, dog friendly
Large room with comfy king size bed.
Good quality bath robes, towels and toiletries.
Beautiful place to unwind, away from the tourist hype. Field walks to neighbouring villages and blackberry tasting on the way.

Clean, beautiful, restful.
Evening meal beautifully cooked. Knowledgable bar staff.
Suggest fresh cut fruit for granola and croissants. Horseradish an interesting touch. Full breakfast could be included?

Room tiny. Toilet could not sit on properly as too tall and knees hit wall. Early starts and asked for a danish perhaps to take with us. Nothing! So no breakfast at all yet apparently included in the price.
As above.

Lovely building in a very pleasant part of the world. Staff were good, food decent (great burger) and a nice bar and outdoor area.
"Breakfast is included in the final price." - no, it wasn't. Continental is, anything hot isn't. At £140/night, not impressed.
Avoid room 6 when the weather's hot. It was absolutely roasting the whole time, with only a fairly useless fan to assist - I understand some rooms can get hot, but just buy a more powerful fan (obviously a known issue for that room, as a staff member mentioned it, and a friend didn't have a fan in their room as not needed).
There was only one iron/ironing board for the whole hotel, so we had to wait some time on two occasions over the weekend - not ideal if you're pressed for time.

The continental breakfast was ok but not much variety. No savoury items. The cooked breakfast that is an extra charge was very good, although the half full english comes with half a mushroom and half a ring of black pudding! A bit too literal!

Was great location for family get together and lunch was good with very friendly service. Not sure a TV in the bar added to the atmosphere!
Our room was above the bar and whilst you can’t really ask customers to be quiet the music was quite loud and could be heard clearly in our room and didn’t stop until around 11pm

From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent and even gave us recommendations on excursions in the area. We had dinner, drinks and breakfast and each time the food and service was incredible . The room was lovely and straight out of a magazine and small touches with cookies and voucher to the brewery was very much appreciated! Would highly recommend this to anyone who was to ask me.

Ambiance, building, room styling, bedding, comfort. Supply of bathroom products. Lovely bathroom. Tea/coffee and generous biscuits in the room. Interesting Art and photographs decorate the walls.Food was good.
I found the welcome i received was a little lacking. Despite the fact that I walk with a stick, this wasnt noticed and I had to struggle up the stairs with my case on my own. No long mirror in the room. Good service in the restaurant and the barman was kind and friendly which was nice as I was travelling alone which can be difficult.

It was fitting with the ‘Cotswolds vibes’ but with a modern luxuries
The toilet in the room was too small
