I loved the location it was fab. We were right in the town- I didn't realise that our room was in the 'stuart house'-a little annex up in the centre of town which was great. The decor was really sweet and although the room was small it was well planned. My dog was made to feel very welcome with a little pack of treats. There is also car parking which is very much appreciated in Stow as it gets so busy.
The bedroom was really unclean which was such a shame! The concept, the decor and the amenities in the room are fab but we couldn't use anything because it was so dirty. When I say dirty I mean really dirty! The glasses had lipstick stains on them and residue- definitely hadn't been washed. Everything had a thick layer of dust on top of it, including all the tea/ coffee making facilities which was strange but I didn't want to touch anything. The kettle was full of water which had limescale floating in it. The skirting boards and paneling were thick with dust (I had to clean it myself because I didn't want to sleep infront of it- the paneling is the headboard). The soft furnishings seem as if they have never been washed as they smelt awful and were covered in suspicious white stains and the bed had black hairs all over it (i slept on a towel which seemed clean!) We checked in quite late else I would have actually moved hotel. We stayed out as late as possible and I didn't put any of my things down on the sides or on the floor as it just didn't feel clean. My husband also coughed all night because of the dust as he has allergies- were not clean freaks by any means but it was quite bad. The walls are thin and the annex very small- lots of bedrooms in a tiny space, so if you stay with a dog be prepared as you can hear everything; ours barked all night which was probably not the best but there was nothing much we could do. I understand these are dog rooms and dog's hair goes everywhere etc but this was a build up of grime over a long period, not just a missed hair here or there.

Every single thing. A quintessential English pub stay. Our room was dreamy and the breakfast was superb. Cannot wait to come back

Room was nicely decorated, modern. Nice colours. Double room was small with little storage space. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked.
Room was on the small side, little storage space. Needs a full mirror as only small one on the wall. The shower door was very tight on space and caught the door handle when opening. Complimentary biscuits would have been nice in the room which is fairly standard practice now at most hotels in this price point.

Absolutely faultless stay at The Bell. From the moment we arrived, the team couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. We were kindly upgraded on arrival, which felt really special and set the tone for the whole stay.
Everything was completely seamless. The room was lovely, spotless, and very comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was superb. I went off menu and the staff were more than happy to accommodate without any fuss at all.
I genuinely couldn’t recommend this hotel more — it’s a must-visit. The Bell is set in a beautiful village too, which just adds to the charm. We’ll absolutely be back.
Nothing!!!

Nicely decorated and good location.
Bit small! I know it’s an old building but no shelf space in the bathroom etc which would be useful and the room was fine for a night but not really longer.

Stayed at the Stuart House in Room Dog on the ground floor. Stuart House is a separate property from the Bull pub but I chose it because of the parking . Comfy bed, great shower. Private parking was a great bonus in Stow. Room was quiet and inviting.
Eventually discovered the access to the town square through the main block opposite which was great- would be helpful if this was mentioned at check in.
Staff all welcoming and helpful
The access from the car park to the rooms is a little narrow due to a tree encroaching on the path. The lighting at this point was very dark on arrival.
One of the zipped together single duvets was atrocious! All the filling has shifted to edges and ends of the duvet leaving cold empty places. It is definitely time to bin this duvet.
There was no mentioned ‘treat’ only the items to purchase.
Why no hangers? And if they had been available how on earth would I have been able reach the hanging rail- please lower this rail!!
Breakfast could be improved with the addition of yoghurt and fruit. Would be lovely to have the option of a continental hamper in the room rather than having to walk to the pub!

Perfect cosiness. The room was delightful, with a lovely view over the Cotswold countryside. Breakfast was plentiful, and we had an excellent dinner on the Wednesday. We love the gentle scents created everywhere. A superb pre-Christmas break.
While you are in the dining area, there is distant beat music playing (presumably to keep the bar staff happy). If it had been properly audible, OK, but it was just loud enough to be irritating.
At breakfast, the milk was cold, so your coffee became lukewarm.

My mistake that I didn't know I was booking Stuart House, this is a fair walk from the Bell, but is in the centre of Stow.
Has plenty of parking, compared to The Bell where you may end up on the street away from the pub.
Shower was hot and powerful.
The Hedgehog room is on the ground floor next to the road, so was extremely loud with Christmas revellers walking past.
There are no curtains just badly designed shutters that don't close properly, meaning the lampposts outside will keep the room light all night.
Plus it is next to the front door so you'll hear every guest enter and exit the property.

The location was great as it was right in the heart of it all. Open the door and you're on the high street so was great to go for a walk around the town, visit shops, grab a coffee and easily go back to the room. Only problem it was so close you can hear people on the street as you open the blinds and you'll see people walking down the street. If this hotel was in a different location it would not do very well, i think it is thanks to the lovely area that the property is bringing in money.
Once you can find it the parking space was off street and felt secure which made parking stress free.
Loud high street. No signal at all so you have to rely on a Wi-Fi connection which isn't great if you need to make phone calls such as to the reception which isn't on site! Cold and no heating, no tv remote so couldn't watch the TV. Tried to contact the reception, no response. Left a voicemail as well and they never got back to us. Staff dismissive and blunt, felt like an inconvenience. 'The Hedgehog room' we were in felt like it was the leftover room that they would leave till last minute as it could be the worst room available (haven't seen the rest) but you're still paying full price. The toilet also didn't work properly. It said on the menu in the room complimentary tea and coffee and ''our welcome homemade treat'' this was not left for us. The only things in the room was the expensive snacks and drinks that you have to pay for. With proper attention it could have been a good place to stay that's why I'm hoping the other rooms would be better, our experience however wasn't great.

Great location
Shower wasn’t working, called reception several times and left messages but had no response. Room wasn’t clean and light in the bathroom didn’t work.

It was comfortable and well equipped, in a great location. Breakfast in particular was exceptional.
The property ignored my emails and didn’t answer the phone when I tried to ring to confirm details for my family. I phoned five times in the course of a week and left messages as well as emailing. When I arrived the receptionist said he had no idea I’d tried to get in touch. It’s just not good enough, especially at this high price.

Room was nice, well kept and clean. Bed/pillows were comfortable.
Staff upon check in were pretty rude and not welcoming at all. We immediately cancelled our evening meal there as didn't want to go back into the bar area.
Similar in the morning at breakfast, he was slightly better but still not the most welcoming or friendly.
Bathroom radiator in our room (Dog) was stuck on hot and it was boiling, burning hot in fact which seemed dangerous.
6.0 / 10.0
A cooked breakfast was included in the price and service was fast and efficient which was a bonus as I needed to get away promptly. The staff were friendly and helpful. Reasonable value for money despite its shortcomings.
The pub was on the edge of town but surrounded by yellow lines which made parking difficult if you couldn’t get in the small private car park at the pub. I had to park half a mile away in the town square and even there was difficult. I wanted to move my car nearer into the car park but it took until 9pm before I saw a space come free, 5 hours later, as I had to keep leaving my room and going outside to check as no windows overlooked it. That meant it was 9-30pm by the time I had retrieved my car and had to delay having my first pint of the day until then. The single room was tiny and consisted of little more than bed and TV with a small en-suite bathroom. But just about adequate for a small single person.

Great location, friendly staff and a great breakfast. I would definitely stay here again when we next come to the Cotswolds.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Ideally situated in the centre of Stow with parking available.
Breakfast was at the Bell which was exceptional, top quality produce and piping hot. Will definitely stay again.
Disappointed that tea, milk and toilet rolls were not replenished for second day we had to walk to the Bell to collect ourselves. A minor issue however as we has a fantastic stay.

Location is perfect, with its parking place.
Cozy pub, nice breakfast even if I expected more of it.
Room super tiny, a lot of cobwebs and I mean ok it was Halloween but not a sign of cleanliness.
You could hear the noise from the pub downstairs and from stairs and corridor.
Overall not at all worth the high price.

We had a wonderful stay!the village is truly magical and the pubs are amazing! The hotel itself was fantastic and the staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The room was really cozy and comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel’s pub, The Bell, was absolutely amazing…full of character and great atmosphere. We also loved the delicious traditional English breakfast! Overall, we would definitely recommend this place everything was just wonderful!
The only thing that surprised us a little was the carpet in the room, which could have been a bit cleaner. We know that having carpets is quite common in England, but that also means they need a bit of extra care and attention.

The quilt was really badly stained a very foist smell I booked a family room .somewhere else it got cancelled due to a burst pipe .so got this one this one .two separate rooms one on ground floor and one up winding stairs I give my partner the ground room because he just had surgery on his pelvis so he couldn’t get up stairs.so me and my child was up on on nx floor what a night mare .to get my luggage and my child who has special needs .up there I won’t go again to be honest never met my needs what so ever.the hotel what I had booked previous I paid for bed and breakfast.so this one couldn’t because they never had the facilities

Location, accommodation was good and quiet. Nice bathroom. Pub had plenty of character. Dinner was very good.
Continental breakfast was very poor: basically just toast & cereals. No pastries or croissants, no fruit, no cured meats or cheese. Didn’t notice any yogurts.
In Stuart House, lobby door of dependance was not secure.

Room heater not working, TV remote on off switch not working.

The location except disappointed that we were in a separate building.
Unable to open any windows. No control over the temperature of the room- far too hot throughout the night. Unable to sleep because of the heat as well as noise of people and traffic on road pavement immediately outside our room. Room was crazily small with no space for cases etc…
Breakfast overpriced and does stack up against other recent stays on other locations.

It was a lovely cosy room and I slept well, which is unusual for me! The food was delicious. I had an evening meal in the pub and breakfast the next day.

The location was brilliant, right in central Stow. We were surprised that we were in Stuart house but that was purely down to us not reading the information about the property correctly. The room was clean and stylishly designed and despite being centrally located it was very quiet in the evening. Breakfast was gorgeous - would recommend

Quaint and quirky - because it’s such an old building the rooms are small, low ceilings etc BUT this is typical of the area and the era. Really well positioned. Good sized bathroom. Good heating, very comfortable bed. Even had a small bar fridge in the cupboard. Location is excellent - great cafes, coffee and bars up and down the street.
It’s tricky not having any staff on site - reception is a 3 min walk down the street. This wasn’t a problem for us, and again is quite common in the area I think. If you have mobility issues tell them in advance and ask for a ground floor room - our room was up a narrow twisting staircase which some people would be able to navigate.

“a brilliant place in a brilliant location,” praising the friendly team, great breakfast, and convenient high-street location.

Lovely large room and well equipped bathroom. Fantastic meal in the evening and good selection at breakfast.
I’d booked two rooms in the hotel and requested they be near each other. When we arrived we were told we had one room in the hotel and one in Stuart house which was not on my confirmation from Booking.com. My daughter has epilepsy so I would worry about her being in a room 5 mins walk away from my husband myself. The person who booked us in was told we had requested rooms together but he said there was nothing that he could do about it. Consequently my husband had to stay in Stuart house and my daughter and I stayed in The Bell. Thus was inconvenient because of the suitcase plus other bags as we had a wedding to attend.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was delicious
Nice to have a full length mirror
Nice big sized shampoo, conditioner and body/shower gel
The overall room was fine for one night
The welcome information was helpful but there was no hairdryer or straighteners available. I did ask the staff and they did say they were all out which is fine just slightly annoying when it says every room would have them.
The room was ok but the bed was a lot smaller than I was expecting and there was no where to hang up your clothes.
It was very noisy next to a generator which I presume was for the kitchen as this did go off at around 11pm but was back on around 8am the next day.
The shower was neither hot or cold and would flit between temperatures which made having a shower hard and the shower door did not shut properly.
I think for one night it was ok but I would look elsewhere if I was to stay in this area again. The food was delicious I think the rooms just need a bit of an update and overall general clean.

The staff were amazing. I had a meeting on the day of check out and they allowed me to remain in the room until after check out time so I could have privacy. The summer set menu was amazing value and extremely delicious. The breakfast was equally yummy and my eggs were cooked perfectly in the way I had requested. The room was perfect. The bed was soft enough to be comfy, but firm enough to support my back issues. The whole place was spotless.

The Dormouse room while small (as advertised) had everything one would need and was very quaint. Breakfast was delicious.
It was a bit loud as there was a generator or fan (I think) out back that ran during daytime hours.
