The Bell & Stuart House

Clean and very presented

Really loved the location and style of our room. The bathroom was lovely and all the little amenities were fabulous! The manager even gave us a complimentary glass of fizz for our anniversary ☺️

Nothing we had a lovely stay

Great location on the high street, and dedicated parking at Stuart House (Stuart House rooms are in a separate building to the actual Bell pub where guests check in and collect their room key). We appreciated the nespresso coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was fine, but there are several alternative bakery / coffee options in the morning in the village. Our room was a a few minutes walk to St Edward's church and the 'Tolkien' door, and a few minutes to walk to The Porch House pub (claimed to be England's oldest inn (c. 974AD)where we had a great meal in the evening .

Our room (Squirrel room) was very small. There was very little space either side of the bed and the end of the bed to walk around. Consequently there was very little space for our two check-in size bags to be opened on the floor. Might pose difficulties for someone with mobility issues.

Location was great and room was nice

We showed up at 3:35pm for our room that is supposed to be ready by 3pm on our booking , however our room was not finished once we arrived. The Stuart house / Bell was not easy to find where to go and we had to walk in and ask to find out where to park and where our actual room was. quite confusing.
