Cotswold Cottage Guest House

We enjoyed our stay at the Cotswold Cottage Guest House. We stayed in the Shakespeare Room, which was beautifully decorated, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Although there was no air conditioning, the room had a fan that kept it comfortable during our stay. Our host was also very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. One disappointment was that breakfast was not included because we booked through a third-party website rather than directly with the guest house. Had we booked directly, breakfast would have been complimentary. The biggest challenge was the location. While the guest house advertises free parking, it is street parking, and spaces did not become available until around 6:00 p.m., which made parking somewhat difficult. The guest house is within walking distance of the quaint village center, but because most of the shops closed around 5:00 p.m., we weren't able to enjoy the area as much as we had hoped, and restaurant options nearby were somewhat limited in the evening. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and appreciated the comfort of the guest house and the hospitality of our host. If we were visiting the Cotswolds again, however, we would probably choose a different village that offered more evening activity and dining options.

Lovely beamed room, spotlessly clean. Great location - access to many towns in the Cotswolds by car. Breakfast is served in a coffee shop down the road - great menu, delicious food, staff very friendly and helpful.

Room access is by code (no key). There was one time we couldn't access the Cottage but on calling the staff they opened the door quickly so no problem. There is no air con in the rooms although a standing fan is provided.

Breakfast was good. Ravi was helpful and nice.

The room type says "King room garden view" but the bed was a large double or queen. I'd recommend they change the room type to avoid this confusion and disappointment in the future. We really did need a king bed for space.
