Beautiful spacious room with lots of character. Fantastic staff.
Water pressure was a bit of a struggle but is what you expect for an old property.

Breakfast great. Location good. Lumpy bed! Dinner disappointing but hats off to receptionist who gave us a goodwill gesture discount.
Crumpled dressing gowns, lumpy bed, constant drip from cistern! Undercooked frites 🙈

Location, location, location — this beautiful old inn is perfectly placed and full of character, with original flagstone floors throughout. I was travelling with my 88-year-old mother and they kindly arranged a ground floor room for us, which we really appreciated.
The lounges and open fires were warm and inviting and made it a lovely place to relax. We found on-street parking during our stay, but it was great to know we could use the parking at their sister hotel next door if needed- helpful in a place like the Cotswolds.
The toilet in the bathroom was running the whole time we were there and was quite smelly but I expect that was from the old plumbing, and the floorboards upstairs were very creaky — but that’s to be expected in a building of this age and it didn’t take away from our stay at all. We ate in the restaurant the first evening which was just OK. Breakfast each morning was lovely.

Cosy and traditional inn. I love the vibe of the fireplaces in all the public rooms and the small pub area. The dining room is large and beautiful looking out on the courtyard. It’s nicely decorated. My room was comfortable although small but for one or two people it was plenty of room and well equipped. The staff really made my stay special. They were all friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Daily they put a note on your door with suggestions on fun things to do in the area and highlighting their sister properties to visit.

Traditional old fashioned British country-town inn
Nothing. Too modern would spoil it.

We had a lovely stay but unfortunately cut short due to illness. Thank you Lamb Inn
The room was a bit small probably made worse by our illness and therefore not getting out much. The photos were however misleading on booking.com

The Lamb is a beautiful, historic hotel, full of character. It is extremely comfortable with blazing log fires in all the lounge areas. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The food is first class.

Cosy, open fires, live music on the Friday night, great food
Staff: friendly, helpful, polite
On the breakfast menu, it was advertised as smashed avocado on toast and it was actually premade guacamole on toast which I think is extremely poor

great breakfast
Temperature in room - way too warm

It was quirky due to its age and creeky and sloppy floors.
I thought the evening meal whilst nicely cooked was expensive. The cheese board at £13 was very small and to charge an addition £13 if shared with no additional cheese was extremely expensive.

Far left window wouldn’t close, a little chilly.

We had a really enjoyable one night stay and evening meal (steak and wine night) at the hotel. All dietary requirements were met at both dinner and breakfast (Gluten intolerant) The staff were fantastic in that they helped us change our reservation to an earlier day due to a personal emergency.
The service was a little slow to begin with and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Character. Location.
Bathroom. Inadequate. Sink smelt. No bath towel rail. Pressure in shower very poor. Nowhere to put toilet bag other than floor. Very small for size and price of room.
Food disappointing for the price

Excellent location
Room was small and generally felt a bit tired (stained carpet, dusty skirting boards)
TV was ancient with no streaming services enabled
No radio or speaker so no means of listening to music
Only one bedside had a lamp
Majority of the staff seemed to be going through the motions rather than making guests feel welcome and valued
Food was fine but expensive given that little evidence of provenance / seasonality / using local produce

Great character hotel.
Staff friendly and helpful - especially with helping luggage up stairs. Room very nicely set up.
Breakfast included was excellent
Overall disappointed with dinner in restaurant. For a highly rated restaurant sadly we found the meal underwhelming in relation to a number of the dishes. Provided feedback to our server which we presume went through to the Chef.

Charming property with interesting history. Loved the real fire in the lounge and made good use of it.
I wouldn’t say this made me dislike the property it just made think it was due for a refurbish, but some of the wallpaper in the bathroom was hanging off the wall and a chromed shower hose cover kept falling off onto the shower hose. The shower itself was great, hot and powerful although the shower hose slightly too short for a 6 footer like me but definitely usable.

There were cobwebs in the bedroom ceiling. Violet room.

Quant, traditional Cotswold pub in the heart of Burford.
Rooms are a little dated but that’s expected from such an old building. I suppose the decor/finishes could have been a little better.
