Good but could be better

Nice location, reasonably priced. Could take dogs at a small charge. Good little bar areas, food was nice

Room in first night was cold, heating was generally poor and we only had a small heater in our room which actually gave some heat. Radio alarm went off at 7am friday morning which we didnt set. Bathroom was ALWAYS cold

Fabulous! Would thoroughly recommend.

What a gem this place is. We had a wonderful overnight stay in beautiful accommodation ; a very comfy bed, great breakfast and delicious evening meal the night before. The team made us feel very welcome. We would definitely go back.

Fabulous

The food was spectacular, really enjoyed a lovely meal. The courtyard rooms were lovely too. Very comfortable and spacious and nicely furnished.

The shower was very slow draining and started to flood the bathroom after a short time. A couple of areas of the room needed a touch of paint but nothing serious and neither would put me off staying again.

Great little gem .

Very comfortable bed and loved the tv which was in the bed ! Cosy room , lovely and warm . Food was delicious. Very pleased with our stay .

The towel rail and toilet where a little lose which I did let reception know . The skirting board outside the bathroom needs a little paint. These couple of things did not spoil our stay and all feed back is good if it helps a company improve the next customers visit .

Misleading photo and description.

Our room was certainly not the same as advertised. The room we had was extremely small and retired looking. We chose to stay here because breakfast was included, then upon our arrival a note was left in our room saying a there is a charge for cooked breakfast but the room includes free continental breakfast.

Tiny room with no space, although ok for one person, but certainly not a double. Misleading 'breakfast included' information, only to be informed a charge for cooked breakfast.

Lovely stay and we would definitely go back if in the area really gorgeous pub and I wish them all the succes.

Gorgeous old pub, styled well. Nice and cosy even though it was freezing outside. One of the owners, rob I believe he lives on sight, he was great, such a harder worker, polite, really lovely. Food was super yummy, friendly local.

Not much really, maybe soundproofing but it’s a old building so you get it. Also think some of the younger staff need to learn from Rob.

Perfect retreat

Breakfast was excellent as was dinner. Lovely pub . Very warm and welcoming. Staff very friendly. The room we had was comfortable and spacious. It was my husband’s birthday and we had a room upgrade and a surprise treat at dinner which was a lovely touch.

A few minor issues in the room. Just a little bit of mould in the bathroom. But didn’t spoil our stay.

The menu was very limited due to being New Year’s Day, we had to eat on arrival rather than the 7:30pm requested as the kitchen closed early. The food was of satisfactory standard, which was a shame.

The owners are wonderful, the bedrooms are so nice with big comfy beds and lovely decor. The facilities are lovely with a gorgeous fireplace making the bar area very cosy. The food was delicious and it's in a great location in the Cotswolds

Warm and friendly stay with excellent food

A very warm and welcoming stay. The food was excellent too. We stayed coming up to Christmas and the place was decorated perfectly.

Some confusion over breakfast. To me, if you pay for breakfast, it should be a cooked one (if you want it). Just be aware there isn’t much else around it in the village.

Excellent value for money. I would stay again.

This pub is a Brakspear’s pub. A clean large bedroom. Included was a small sitting area and large bathroom. The room was situated in a separate block to rear of the property. It was warm with plenty of hot water too. The actual pub was spacious, plenty of places to sit. Proper log fire adds to the atmosphere. Food was well presented and nice. A small continental offering was included in my room rate. If you wanted a full English breakfast, £12 without resident discount.

Watch the service charge on bar transactions. Not appropriate in my view and I did complain.

My second stay and just as good as the first.

Although aimed at the leisure rather than business guest, I was able to work and rest in a busy week. Peaceful and in a location where accommodation at a sensible price is scarce. Good parking and excellent food (although not cheap). For an old building, the accommodation is spacious and works well. The tiny DAB radio in the room is a lovely little touch that every insomniac will appreciate.

Not relevant to most, but a desk or table in the room would be useful if you have to work in the evenings.

This was an unexpected bonus night that we were able to tack onto our Cotswold trip.

Landlord and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent fayre in the restaurant. Bar was short of vermouth so no martini but an excellent gin based cocktail took away any disappointment.. A good selection of wines on offer.

Easy parking, warm and comfortable room.

Breakfast offering was very poor and an extra charge for a cooked breakfast. Bathroom needed some plumbing maintenance as there were leaks and dampness. They need to be more specific about allowing dogs. Had we have known in advance we wouldn’t have booked it due to a dog allergy.

Adequate and Comfortable

Ideal location for route we were travelling. Quiet. Good parking at rear. Very comfortable bed. Wonderful breakfast with good choice and extras available.

It was a cold wet evening and the radiators in the room were not working - reported to desk. Subsequently found one in bathroom need bleeding- sorted oneself. Main radiator was sorted though staff not very proactive coming back as had to enquire three times. Arrived 15 minutes after earliest check in time - room was not ready - had to wait a further 40 minutes (coffee was provided) No plug in sink - which meant that wasted a lot of water

Good for overnight stay

Lovely pub, good welcome, all staff were friendly. Very comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. Room was adequate size with everything you need although some of the furniture was very shabby. My room was in the main building but being a Sunday night was very quiet. Plenty of parking and quiet location.

Had a meal in the restaurant, food was very tasty but not very hot. Blind in room needs changing, a pain to pull up and down and doesn’t cover the whole window.

A perfect getaway, friendly staff, comfortable bed and good food.

It was very cosy and everything you dreamed of for a lovely weekend away. A log fire and fantastic decor. Locally produced food in the restaurant which was very good. Our stay was enhanced by the resident cat, Dougal whose presence made us feel very much at home. Would definitely recommend.
