The location was perfect, right in the centre of the village. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient, and our meal in the restaurant was excellent.
We felt the breakfast was rather basic and could be improved. We expected it to be better for the room rate charged.

Nothing. All in character.

Location was good. Friendly staff, enjoyable evening meal and good beer. Cleanliness excellent and everything in the room worked.
Breakfast was basic. If you aren't going to serve anything cooked I think toast and warm pastries isn't asking too much.

On our arrival we had a drink in the pub prior to then staying in and having dinner in the restaurant. The food was lovely.
There were plenty of options for breakfast the following morning. My partner and I both enjoyed the experience.

Everything superb
Very good

The evening meal was very good, no complaints at all.
The place needed some tlc. The room was basic and needed a good clean - lots of dust on the lightshade, shower head and toilet roll holder. Worst of all was the fire doors propped open with door stops - this is dangerous and contrary to fire safety regulations. Felt very unsafe.

Excellent breakfast
Band was playing but although ear plugs were provided i think our room was directly above so very noisy but just one of those things

Convenient location for my stay
Really strong kitchen smell upstairs.
Breakfast selection was very limited and two out of three mornings there were no lights on in the breakfast area so had to use my phone light to read the cereal and tea bag packaging 😂

It’s location in the heart of the village. Comfortable rooms with nice touches (earplugs🤣)

everything about the place is in thoughtful details: starting from the fireplace in the pub, ending with biscuits and nice photos on the walls. The rooms are not big, but clean. the bed is comfortable and linens are super clean. You'll find everything you need in the room:hair dryer, iron, lots of sockets, bedside lamp, kettle and tv. I spend one night there on wednesday, so the pub was pretty quiet and didn't bother my sleep. The house is old, so creaky floor will have more chances to wake you up then pub attendants) as well as the chimes of the old church opposite the pub. That's the only thing to take into consideration if you are a light sleeper. I'm not that kind, so I really enjoyed the sounds of this place. It seems as it's talking to you every 15 min and every hour. Will definitely come back one day again.

Pre warned of weekday continental breakfast - this was rated fair. Evening meal was good, hotel/pub was lively
Choice for continental breakfast could have been better. No coffee pods available for machine, coffee bags were reasonable but not ideal.

The room was great, very clean and warm, it had everything you could need for a one night stay. The hosts were wonderful, very warm, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really good, great choice, very hot and unlimited tea/coffee.
Nothing - a great place to stay

Charming old in with a modern vibe
Slightly noise but to be expected with creaky floors and staying in a pub

The location,
Local brewery tour
The evening meal was okay
We had a very interesting chat with a local sitting on a bench outside the hotel after they had closed at 9 pm
We weren't told when we booked that the only option was a do it yourself continental breakfast because there were no staff in the building until 4 pm.
The room was cramped, with nowhere to put anything and no wardrobe.
The shower was particularly difficult to move in.
The bar closed at 9 pm and there wasn't anywhere else to go.
It was very hot weather at the time we stayed and very uncomfortable to sleep in

Lovely pub hotel in a great location. Staff were lovely and the food and drink great. Lovely garden and outdoor seating area.
Our room was a bit small, it was over the kitchen, so the fans from there were noisy and it was a warm night so the window needed to be open. The pub did provide earplugs, but the kitchen and fan were noisy.
Shower didn't work at first, due to an airblock but staff fixed it the same day.

Location
Where do I start!? Overpriced, awful food, expensive, get your own breakfast, 'couldn't care' staff. I stayed at the Falkland Arms last I was in the area - that's how to run a Cotswolds pub

Lovely welcome from friendly staff,
super village, easy parking, great beer, nice bathroom.
Only minor things: very creaky upstairs landing, difficult to block out light from outside room, breakfast coffee machine quite frustrating & more fruit would be nice.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was quite small. No mirror for doing hair or makeup.

The staff were very friendly and professional, food was very good I had a burger which was very enjoyable - it was a very pleasant country pub
I'm aware that the sun is at the budget end of places to say, but I found the general decor in the rooms very shabby( but clean). The main problem was the very poor breakfast, it couldn't even be called a continental breakfast. There were no staff on hand to assist with issues at breakfast - food was set up for guest to help themselves prior to a self check out key drop. I would have happily paid for a full breakfast service if it was offered. I was unclear in my booking what type of breakfast, if any, was provided, although the booking was described as B&B.

The breakfast was nice, the evening meal on the Friday was nice, the staff were helpful. Nice stay for one night, our niece lives in the village so it was a family get together.
I ordered a bottle of wine but also asked for a small glass of soda water along with other drinks, when I came to pay the bill I had been charged £1 for the soda water that comes out of a syphon, I think this was a charge for charging sake, had I of just ordered a soda water, then fair enough, but we had meals, 2 bottles of wine, pints of cider etc, so I think charging for soda water was not acceptable. Also our breakfast took a while to come out, there was one girl on her own on for breakfast duty, you need more staff as other people came in off the street for breakfast, which is great, but when you only have one staff member on to do everyone, I think priority should be your residents and have someone separate for the walk ins, just an observation though. All in all, a nice stay even if it was just for the one night.

Venue. Room spacious.
Very hot and difficult to cool the room down despite the electric fan in the room.

Nothing to dislike

Good hot breakfast options.
Small but well appointed bedroom.
No cold food or 'continental' breakfast options available.
When asked a packet of muesli was offered but nothing else.
No fresh fruit or fruit juices offered.
Restaurant is open to locals for breakfast and they appeared to have been offered much wider breakfast options.

We stayed for 2 nights as were visiting Silverstone. Beautiful village location. Free parking. We ate breakfast and evening meal and both were exceptional. Beds very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Easy access to Cotswold locations.
Although the bedroom was roomy it could do with a spruce up. Lick of paint maybe. It did not put us off. Would definitely visit again.

Great location for an event I was attending. Staff very friendly and breakfast excellent.
The only thing I would comment on is why are all the fire doors in the corridors upstairs wedged open at all times?

Great old pub in a great location
Great Sunday roast
