Disappointing.

The Angel is a lovely building and well located in the village of Burford. As it’s down a side street, there was plenty of parking outside.

We had a 2-night stay and we were disappointed that our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night, and the bed hadn’t even been made! My husband always leaves a tip for the housekeeper which just added insult to injury! There was also no heating on our second night so our room got very cold although there was a small fan heater in the room which helped. The continental breakfast that was included in the price was quite sparse, my husband ordered the omelette but it was overcooked. We had dinner in the pub on the second night and it was disappointing; I think there was an issue with every course, even the cafetière leaked. There really isn’t anywhere to sit after dinner, we felt we had to move so they can could clear up. We were referred to the landing outside the bedrooms but it’s dark and dingy so we just went back to our room. The staff are very friendly but there were too many issues for us to consider staying again.

Lovely, central village public house with three beautiful rooms. Would recommend.

From check in to departure the staff were fantastic. The room was very clean, comfortable, well appointed & spacious. Light continental breakfast included. Central to the beautiful village. No allocated parking but plenty available close by. We stayed in Burford as we were having dinner at The Farmers Dog, taxis easily available.

It does mention in the booklet in the room that due to the age of the building there is no double glazing. You also can hear every conversation and music playing downstairs in the bar. The draymen were also delivering early in the morning so we were woken earlier than hoped. Don't wear stilleto heels in the bar area, I lost mine between the floor boards!!

There was a warm welcome from the staff, the food was good but accommodation quite basic.

The room was quite basic and tired. The bed mattress felt poor quality as were the pillows. Noise from the bar below due to the age of the property.

Comfortable accommodation with an excellent location in Burford

The location near Burford high street was excellent. Friendly staff and the room was clean. The coffee machine & bottled water was very welcome.

The room was a little tired,albeit it is an older period property. It was not made clear at booking that the breakfast included was continental (cereal / pastries , fruit juice /tea ,coffee & toast). Eggs and the full English breakfast are provided at an extra cost.

A great stay in Burford!

This was one of our favorite stays in a three week trip of Scotland and England. The inn itself is so charming! Dinner and breakfast bother delicious, great location in Burford for accessing all of the Cotswolds. Best of all though is the staff, every one of whom was so welcoming and helpful. They really added to our enjoyment!
