Location - on high street
We arrived a little early and asked if we could check in and without even looking for us if the room was ready we were turned away and told to come back just after 3pm (check in was 3pm).
They didn’t serve dinner that night and we weren’t notified when we checked in, they also didn’t serve breakfast the following day.
We got to our room and the bed was broken so the mattress fell through the base. We asked to be moved which they did, but to a smaller room with no view. The room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned - there were cobwebs around the ceiling and corners of the room. The TV was just about falling off the wall and the channels weren’t loading.
Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

Nothing really…

Great location with free parking (however only found out where the carpark was after checking in).
Uncomfortable bed. Arrived at 2:30pm and asked if we could check in early, was told no and that was it. Would have been nice if they could have checked if a room was ready (or at least pretended to). Customer service was lacking. Was looking forward to a hot breakfast on Sunday morning but only cold was on offer so we elected to go elsewhere.

Lovely traditional hotel, nice and clean with a positive vibe. Friendly staff though the barman was a tad busy. Cosy hotel
No heating! Towels left in a pile in corridor, maybe forgotten for a night. But heating was the main issue. An electric heater was in the room which we used but the central heating should really have been on this time of year. Had to wait a while to be checked in, but the owner? Reception was lovely lady and full of charm/funny. We were quiet but upset a neighbour clearly, who started banging on the wall. Rude and obnoxious. I banged back. Hey ho.

The water was hot
We were given a room with no heating on in January so asked for another room. The next room had no heating on but we were told it would be on soon. It never came on the entire night!!!! We had a small fan heater that was too noisy to leave on, small thin pillows and a think doona. Luckily there was a blanket on the cupboard.
Also room was on the main road so had traffic noise all night.

The owner was so sweet offering the kids chocolates and advising on places to visit. The room was gorgeous and so cosy. It was spectacularly clean.

A lovely period property right in the centre of Chipping Norton. Very comfortable room, hotel is well maintained, clean and has lovely staff. Having the car park at the rear is great too. A fabulous stay.
The only thing for us was the shower over the bath. Would prefer a proper shower, especially with such a deep floor standing bath. That aside, spot on.

Superb location in the centre of the town. Good value for money. Pleasant and helpful staff. Quiet room.
Nothing was bad.
The parking was limited on the property, but a free car park is close by.
We didn’t eat at the hotel, so we can’t comment on the food.

It was friendly and in a good location.
It was tatty in places, and the steps were tough up to the 3rd floor.

Good location. Clean. Free parking.
Bit tired looking. Fires alarm wakes us up at 5am one morning and goes off again at 9am the next morning. Apparently it’s faulty, no explanation or apology, guests just wandered back to their bedrooms after the arm stops with no clarity from staff. Staff polite but not overly welcoming.

Lovely interesting old property. Interesting history and information around it property . Lovely room, plenty of hot water for a bath. Appreciated the hot water bottle as the weather had turned very cold. Bed very warm and cosy.
Old property so creaky floors and quirky layout, but it was fun.

We loved staying in this historic former coaching inn. Our room (4-poster) was spacious and comfortable. Quiet at night in spite of the location on High Street. Central to everything with bus stops only minutes away. Great hot shower. Spotlessly clean. Bonus is the great pub with huge fireplace right inside the hotel. Rooms are not “luxurious” but super comfortable and convenient.
Anyone with mobility issues should know that the rooms are all upstairs, some of them several flights. Chipping Norton made a perfect home base for visiting the Cotswolds.

The building needs some serious renovation. The rooms were dirty, I saw spider webs in all different places. The bed was curved in the middle. The heater was centralised. Also, at the entrance you can notice a strong smell of food.
