Quintessiantial England...400yrs old and still welcoming guests.
Quiet, nice beer garden.
Modernised clean and spacious bathroom.
Breakfast ok.
Restaurant - good dinner options.
Short drive to other villages (no other shops or restaurants near pub - you need a car)
Unfortunately we visited during heatwave. These old buildings are designed to stay warm in winter.
Heritage listed so no aircon. Small windows don't draw much air.
Thankfully a fan was provided.
Floor in bathroom uneven, and steep narrow stairs - just characteristic of old building, but can be an issue if not steady on feet.
Mattress felt a little saggy on side.

The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, bright and fresh. The beds were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant for our evening meal was delicious, enjoyed by everyone and the ambience was lovely. The choice for breakfast was good, with lovely fresh croissants. They have a beer garden with a couple of outdoor games which kept us amused and was fun.
Nothing at all - we all had an amazing stay and will definitely be back.

The parking was ok, the bar and restaurant was a great traditional pub feel. The fan in the room was appreciated. The man who checked me in was great, Ben I think his name was, good service.
I stayed here so I could use the electric charging overnight, this wasn’t possible as only one charger was operating and it was already in use. Two were blocked off with a skip in the way. No advanced warning of this. The bathroom smelt fusty and mouldy and made it feel unclean. There was no where to hang a hand towel or hang towels anywhere.
