The Manor House Hotel

Suite, very comfortable, bathroom excellent as was other rooms. Breakfast excellent, dinner expensive and not a lot of choice, eat here once there was a wedding to be held on the Saturday and was notified by e mail that our room was above the function room and we would be able to hear it, would we still be happy in taking the room. Of course we said yes and there was no problem.

would have liked to have been informed at check in that there is no milk in the room unless you asked for it.

Breakfast was very good and had plenty of staff. Dinner was also very good and the restaurant manager was very attentive.

Route to room 23 was very haphazard and awkward. Decoration and paintwork was very tatty and in desperate need of painting. Not in keeping with the room itself or downstairs. Bathroom was clean but very small and has absolutely nowhere to put your washbag or toiletries.

The hotel room was really lovely, beds and linen were very good quality and comfortable. The bathroom was a great size and the room and hotel were warm. A beautiful room in a beautiful building

Unfortunately the staff really let this place down, there were only two members of staff that were working as if they actually knew what they were doing and understood what clients were. The rest were kids, completely clueless and couldn't look more bored if they tried, they kept disappearing out the back, probably to socialise, which is obviously far more important than doing the job they are being paid for. Even though we advised the hotel up front and even though it was agreed that we would arrive late but would appreciate a bowl of soup or a perhaps a starter in the restaurant before going to bed, the bar staff insisted we could not use the restaurant as we didn't have a booking (but we booked into the hotel, right? and had arranged this up front, right?). The bar staff (who were controlling entry into the restaurant) obliged us to sit in a corner of a very noisy bar in order to have any food. Not appreciated at all. The hotel staff really don't have a clue in this place, which is a real shame as it could be a great hotel.
