If I was being picky it would be great to have a bigger drinks menu and a more powerful hairdryer.

Nice aesthetic, not worth it

Cute property near central Ubud. My check in process was smooth, and I was well received by the team. Kind manager who attended to my concerns promptly and ensured I was refunded when I decided to leave early. The breakfast crumpets are absolutely delicious!

My experience seems to have differed from most, though I feel inclined to share it especially considering the vast options available for luxury stays in Ubud. Unfortunately, I didn't understand that the room I booked was located underneath another room and my small outdoor space was accessed by the upstairs guests (to enter and exit their unit). It was also located right next to the shared dining space and road, so street noise could not avoided-- especially from the outdoor bath. I originally booked 3 nights and only stated 1 for a few reasons-- first, I could hear every move made by my upstairs neighbors-- walking, dropping items, etc. No fault of theirs for normal use of their room. Second, around 9pm, an employee shined a flashlight into my bedroom window and on to my face while I was in bed. Perhaps this is completely out of the ordinary, but needless to say it is not what I expected from a luxury, 5* boutique hotel I had been eyeing for over a month. Other guests I met at breakfast expressed enjoying tons of privacy and quiet from other rooms and felt they were getting a great value. My expectations based on others' reviews had me picturing a tranquil sanctuary with impeccable service, and reality included lists of printed rules all over the room describing prohibited activities and warning guests they'd be charged for taking items, etc. Overall, vibe felt off. From my experience, I think prospective guests could benefit from the hotel including more details about each rooms' location and accessible spaces to set expectations accordingly. For me, luxury is an overall feeling inclusive of aesthetic, comfort and service more than it is a label.

Stone House was a dream find. Such an amazing little oasis.

Everything about Stone House was so beautifully presented. The service, the room, the breakfast. The staff were amazing and very informative of where to go and places to eat. A gem of a hotel. We didn't want to leave.

I don't think there was anything that we didn't like. Everything was so wonderful. If we had to find any complaint, I guess maybe the beds (including the fold up bed) could have been a little more comfortable and blankets if needed.

A serene, considered escape in the heart of Ubud where every detail makes you feel cared for.

Our stay at Stone House was a dream from start to finish, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Tucked away in the lush green of Ubud, it felt private and peaceful, yet just a short scooter ride from everything. The rooms were beautifully designed with special touches that made them feel unique, and waking up to the sounds of nature was pure magic. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely cared for. I felt safe, secure, and completely relaxed. It’s the kind of place that lingers in your heart long after you’ve left.

Beautiful Oasis

Loved everything about our stay here! Beautiful accommodations. Friendly, helpful staff. Located on the rice fields for lovely morning walks. The restaurant was fantastic and there are other good restaurant options within walking distance. Highly recommended.

Traffic was terrible, high tourist season. Took us 1.5 hrs in taxi to go 7km! Factor into your plans at least double the time google maps says to get somewhere.

Fabulous!

The accommodation is just stunning- Wendy has really great taste. Everywhere you look, both inside and outside, there is some beautiful detail and it all sits so well together. The staff are really lovely and we felt totally spoilt by them. There were lots of extra little touches that really made us smile (such as the nighttime cookies and little gecko ornaments yo take away). The food is delicious too... Lots of choice for breakfast. Would recommend the banana pancakes, the smoothie bowl and the spicy eggs!

Magical perfection with a surprise bonus of the worlds most elaborate outside loo

Stone House is absolute perfection - I’m not sure what they could do better! They have seriously thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and wonderful as possible. The staff are lovely, and really know how to look after you but without being intrusive. We stayed in the Skyview Downstairs - the bathroom is incredible…and the bedroom feels like you’re staying at a stylish rich friends house 🤣. We loved the food, extremely fresh and tasty…and the coffee is excellent. I will never forget walking in the front door of this property and seeing the tropical paradise that opens up behind the door - it’s really is a magical place.

Luxurious peace and tranquility

Stone House is a tranquil oasis of calm and beauty away from the bustle of Ubud centre. Set in beautiful well maintained jungle grounds and behind its own stone wall (that means nobody knows it’s there) you can relax and be looked after by the staff who make it all so easy for you. The food is high quality Balinese all cooked right there beside you as you sit overlooking the pool and grounds. Every room here is stylish (I had a peek at the Java room and farmhouse) and luxurious. The poolside toilet is something to behold and so represents the owners artistic eyes. Comfy beds, inside/outside toilet and shower and my own balcony to relax on made this room perfect. I would recommend it to anyone who likes their peace and calm with a side of luxury.

Be prepared for the meals to be more expensive than downtown Ubud but they are worth it.

Absolutely incredible, best stay in Ubud.

We stayed in The Long House at The Stonehouse and honestly—sublime doesn’t even begin to cover it. From the moment we arrived, we were floored by the attention to detail. Every element had been considered: thoughtful notes, freshly baked cookies each evening, beautifully prepared made-to-order breakfasts that were simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The layout is genius—although the pool and dining area are technically communal, it never felt that way. Somehow they’ve created an atmosphere that is both completely private and warmly shared. It’s rare, and it works. The staff are exceptional. Warm, kind, professional, and always going the extra mile—truly some of the best service we’ve experienced. I accidentally left something behind and they had it couriered back to Australia via DHL the next day. Who does that? These people do. There is no question—we will only ever stay here when in Ubud. Highly, highly recommend. It’s a special place.

Gorgeous Boutique Hideaway

This is such a gorgeous little boutique hotel, it really exceeded all my expectations. It's hidden on a side road just outside of Ubud, is set in a wonderful lush garden with tall trees and vegetation, a pool designed like a rock pool and overlooking Paddy fields. All the interiors are wonderful, with lots of fun design details, a mix of art and design from Indonesia and elsewhere in the world. The team were friendly and hospitable from before arrival to when we left, and Wendy the owner was really helpful with recommendations for shopping and eating out. Every room is different - we stayed in an upper room which was spacious and comfortable, with a big outdoor balcony/sofa, four poster bed and an outdoor bathroom/shower. Breakfast was tasty, we enjoyed the fresh coconut water, spicy eggs and home-made crumpets and jam. My tip - hire a moped, it's only 5-10 minutes into town and so much easier to get around.

An Unforgettable Escape: Perfect Tranquility and Exceptional Service in Ubud

We had the most incredible stay at this charming boutique hotel in Ubud! Our villa, the Farmhouse, was absolutely stunning—private, idyllic, and beautifully designed with every detail in mind. It felt like our own little sanctuary, tucked away in nature. From the moment we booked, Ayu went above and beyond to ensure our experience was seamless. Even on days when she wasn't working, she checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly, truly making us feel cared for. When we arrived, Erna welcomed us with open arms, giving us a tour and making us feel right at home. Her warmth and helpfulness set the tone for a fantastic stay. A special shout-out to Wayan, who was our driver from Sanur port to the hotel and also took us on a tour of the rice terraces and a temple. His knowledge of the area was impressive, and he shared so many interesting facts and stories. Despite the rain, he remained cheerful and patient, even taking the time to snap all the photos we wanted! The entire team at the hotel was outstanding, and the facilities were top-notch. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations, from the personalised service to the gorgeous surroundings. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends. Amazing stay, lifelong experience!

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. Drinks in fridge, welcome coconut and fruit in room for guests, delicious breakfast, bubble bath, instagramable net bed. Loved it so much. PS. When it’s dark you can notice fireflies flying above the rice fields in front of you!

It is outdoor room so you have to take into consideration that there will be geckos and bugs (not harmful!). Of course there is net around bed and mosquito repellent for your use.

Simply flawless - staff, property, room, food, everything!

Omg… this hands down one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The attention to detail was just fantastic!! The breakfast was amazing . We also had dinner there one night and that was delicious as well. The staff are all so kind and attentive. The room ( we stayed in the Java suite ) was stunning. It was decorated so beautifully and the bedding was great as well. The nightly cookies were delicious too. Erna helped with all of our questions , helping us a ton even before we arrived at stone house. The owner, Wendy, was so kind and friendly! She really made us feel welcomed. Overall, highly highly recommend. We will be back!

The type of accomodation that the more you notice you better it gets - pure understated class

The rooms we stayed in the longhouse and the farmhouse are stunning and unique . All of the staff are exceptional and Erna the manager will help you arrange anything you need. A unique accommodation suited for people who prefer rice fields to a nightclub . The food here is brilliant - is like having a home-style balinese meal with restaurant quality ingresdients. Love the dogs xx

The location means that you cannot really walk around easily as the main road is too busy so you need to rely on transport. However, it's a seamless and easy process to arrange a driver and you are only charged standard rates.

Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner one night and that was outstanding too. Loved the attentive staff and the on-site doggies, the fresh fruit in the room and good night biscuits. We stayed at Long House and the day bed out the back was my favourite place to spend time, as well as the outdoor shower and the pool

At no fault of the property, but the neighbour’s rooster starts early in the morning. Also hard to keep mosquitos at bay despite trying to keep doors closed, but there’s no net over the bed or screen on windows/doors

Stone house is a beautiful location with special 'rooms', each with their own story. It's very cosy and sociable, with great staff and an enthusiastic host. They arranged a driver/guide for us to show us around the region, which was a nice experience. Lovely breakfast and good & fresh food.

Wonderful small hotel consisting of 6 villas set in a beautiful garden with a pool and separate building with dining. Our Villa - Skyview - was stunning with comfy beds and gorgeous outdoor bathrooms. It was perfect for a family of four with lots of space. The staff were exceptional, as was the food. Breakfasts were a real treat and my kids loved the freshly baked cookies delivered to our villa every evening. The location is perfect, away from the noise and pollution of Ubud centre, but not far by taxi if you time it right - avoid rush hour! If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, comfy, luxurious and don’t go for the big hotels, this is perfect. We had massages in our rooms & they were great. This was everything we’d hoped for when I first discovered this property, and more. It made our holiday in Bali.

A little piece of heaven!

Stone house is a paradise hidden near the center of ubud. The rooms are built with so much attention to detail it really blows your mind. The staff are beautiful and helpful. We stayed there for 2 nights and it was magical. The breakfast us the best meal we had in our entire trip! Lovely owners did an amazing job creating this heaven! Definitely recommend and will definitely visit again! Super clean and safe. We stayed in the longhouse which was magical in every way! The pictures don’t do this place justice! Must try!!!

A hidden paradise in Ubud that everyone should experience.

Where do we start? The treehouse was incredible, the views were lovely. The pool area was idyllic, the staff were absolutely fantastic. Can not recommend here enough, when we come back to Bali we will definitely stay here again!

Superb

After the busy drive from the airport to Ubud, we weren't sure about the place when we got to the front door. But once we stepped in, it was a heavenly secret garden filled with beauty and peace. Staff is amazing. Food is exceptional. Would eat every meal there next time.
