We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful staff. Terrific breakfast. Room was very clean and pleasant with a relaxing koi pond outside the door. Great location in the center of town but rooms were tucked back in the property and were very quiet.

Feel like Royalty!

Is truly beautiful. The location is the best, just at the Palace, actually is part of it!! Is a dream. They make you feel like royalty. The staff is very professional, polite and they take care of you. The welcome ritual was unexpected and lovely. Breakfast was delicious!

It’s just a really special place. If you want a real historical adventure stay there. It’s absolutely beautiful and they have there own water ceremony so perfect to not do it at a busy temple. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

Super location, doesn’t get more central than this.

The location is unbelievably central, just next to the Ubud palace. But since there was a huge ceremony the day we checked in, we had to do a few rounds and then take a longish route to get there, it was so central we couldn’t access it as we had lots of luggage. Otherwise the taxi drops you opposite side, and you can cross over. Puri Kantor is situated on the palace grounds with a member of royalty occupying a section which is obviously off-limits. The hotel is gorgeous exuding typical Balinese style architecture. Rooms are reasonable in size, a bit musty when aircon is off. Food was decent. Staff are very friendly. Although there’s a pool, it’s not for swimming but for purification ceremonies. Since it’s superbly located you can explore the central Ubud area on foot ducking into small gullies and local shops, restaurants and cafes. The neighbourhood is lined with great choices for food and drink and local artefacts. There’s a lovely outlet just across that sells local chocolate drinks, called Jungle Gold chocolate, perfect for an after dinner hot chocolate.

The accessibility issue when there's a ceremony makes it difficult to reach the hotel.

Magical place hidden in Ubud’s center

Beautiful grounds, you truly feel like you are inside a palace, with all the Balinese architecture details and lovely garden. The bed was comfortable and shower had good water pressure. Can’t beat the location in Ubud, it’s right in the center. At the same time, it is very quiet and peaceful.

The breakfast was not good, and way too expensive. There are many nice restaurants and cafes within 5 mins walking, so don’t eat there.

Wonderful. Can’t wait to return

The property is a beautiful palace. The rooms are comfortable and extremely clean. We went on a morning sunrise walk with Darmi which was so informative and really a wonderful experience. We also learned how to make a traditional Balinese offering and did a traditional purification ceremony with a priest at the palace. The staff are all attentive and helpful. And the location cannot be beat. We cannot recommend this palace enough.

I returned to this beautiful hotel for a short stay while in transit in Ubud. Once again, the welcome was truly warm, with great attention to detail throughout. I also received excellent assistance after a small injury I had, and I would like to thank the entire staff — with a special mention to Darmi — for their care and kindness.

An Amazing Experience

The location was perfect, right in the centre of Ubud. A beautiful and unique heritage property with so much charm. The whole place is absolutely stunning. Room comes with huge balcony area; the whole compound is quiet and safe. The staffs are amazing: warm, attentive, and caring. The beds are super comfortable. A spectacular experience, one we will remember for years!

Nice hotel in Ubud

The hotel is very beautiful and quiet. The location is right at the centre of Ubud.

The traffic is very bad in Ubud. The breakfast wasn't worth an hour wait. Meegoreng was ok but the omelette was bland and boring. The breakfast staff weren't attentive at all though there were only 3-4 guests, but they were friendly. There are many nice cafes in Ubud so don't pay extra for the breakfast here.

Great place to stay, well will come back

Puri Kantor Legacy is a real part of the Ubud Palace, beautifully redecorated and opened to the public as a hotel. It’s a rare chance to stay inside this historical heritage site, right in the heart of Ubud. The rooms and beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast is lovely. A truly memorable place to stay

There wasn’t an option for different pillows, and the ones provided were a bit larger and firmer than we usually prefer. It seems each room has its own hot water tank, and one evening the hot water ran out during our shower. Being right in the heart of Ubud and part of the historic palace, you may occasionally hear the sounds of evening performances, which adds to the atmosphere but might not suit everyone’s sleeping preferences.

Truly Magical and Culturally Immersive Stay in Ubud

My partner and I had the most incredible experience staying at Puri Kantor. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the rich Balinese culture through thoughtfully curated activities like canang sari making and a purification ceremony. The hotel itself feels like a hidden gem—nestled right opposite Ubud Palace, it offers a truly unique and authentic Bali experience. The palace grounds are breathtaking, and the location is unbeatable. You can walk to almost every major attraction in Ubud, from the serene rice paddies to the Monkey Forest. We especially loved the sunrise rice paddy walk, which gave us a peaceful glimpse into local life and the beauty of the landscape before the town wakes up. The restaurant is another highlight. Unlike many places that serve general Indonesian cuisine, this hotel offers a wide array of Balinese delicacies that are absolutely delicious (along with western and Indonesian options). The food is fantastic! The staff are exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special shoutout to Darmi, who went above and beyond to help us when I needed medical attention. She organized everything seamlessly, and the care I received was outstanding. Surrounded by fantastic restaurants, cafes, and spas, Puri Kantor is the perfect base for exploring Ubud. If you're looking for a stay that combines luxury, culture, and heartfelt hospitality, this is the place. Highly recommended!

Clearly a marvellous jewel in the centre of Ubud. A Royal Palace no less with resident royals to chat to and great service and food. A spectacular experience and one we will relish to years!

Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Ubud yet a sanctuary of peace

Loved the boutique rooms with elegant touches. The staff were super attentive and friendly. It's in a busy area, but the property is set back so you're away from the noise. This boutique hotel is only 6 months old, well-maintained, super clean and smells fresh! We booked one night but extended our stay to two.

The location is unbeatable—right in the center of Ubud, yet the hotel grounds are peaceful, beautifully and full of charm. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. A very special thanks to Ms. Darmi, who showed incredible kindness, we arrived in Ubud without our luggage, and she went out of her way to contact the lost luggage service and help us retrieve our bags as quickly as possible. Her care and dedication truly made a difference. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ubud. It offers not only convenience and comfort, but also a genuine sense of Balinese hospitality.

This was one of the most special hotel experiences I have had, you feel like true royalty from the moment you step into the restored palace. I can't speak highly enough about all the little details, from the exceptional service to the beautiful decor and really comfortable, modern rooms. Everything is exceptional. Also the location is as good as you can get - right in the middle of Ubud centre.

Wonderful accommodations in the heart of Ubud - highly recommend!

This was such a memorable stay - the gorgeous palace grounds, the comfortable beds, the peaceful quiet in the center of Ubud - it is like stepping into a sanctuary. From the moment you arrive, you are treated like royalty with a warm greeting and a refreshing foot bath. We found the beds to be extremely comfortable, and we loved the location right in the middle of Ubud - perfect for a few days stay to access the center of the city. Most of all, the staff are beyond attentive and caring - they were easy to reach via Whatsapp and when we fell ill (due to another establishment) they went well above and beyond to provide us what we needed to recover. Highly recommend!!

If I have to offer any suggestions it would be to offer more vegetarian food options / variety. However, the staff was more than happy to accommodate my special requests and offer off-menu options that were delightful.

Royal palace in heart of ubud

This is a hidden gem. It is technically the kings old palace where the queen of Ubud lived until recently. It is right in the centre of Ubud opposite the new kings palace. We were lucky to even see and interact with the queen and also the prince who were so humble. We felt like royal guests. We booked the 3 bedroom villa which was the queen's residence before being converted. It was lavish and comfortable All the amenities and fixtures were new and posh. Step outside the property and you have the art market and plenty of restaurants I think we were lucky as this property is going to sell like hot cake as more people know about it.

The property only started this year, so they are still sorting out their restaurant and other amenities, but this is not a major issues in view of its location. The pressure in the shower needs improving.

Unique experience staying in boutique hotel part of a temple compound.

Staying within the temple compounds was an amazing experience, and the facilities in the room were superb. The location could not be more central, being just opposite Ubud Palace, yet the room was quiet.

This is a small boutique hotel, and dining options are limited, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian. The staff were friendly but sometimes difficult to get hold of, as there isn't a lobby as such. The absence of a TV did not bother me, but might annoy others. There is an immersion pool, but it is not for swimming but a place to obtain blessings. This might put off people wishing to swim.

The location was very good. The gardens are lovely.

The driver did not meet us at the airport. It was impossible to make effective contact with the hotel. No-one answered the phone or responded to email. There are no TVs in the rooms. The bathroom was not ventilated. Everthing remained wet. The food in the restaurant was average.
