Place with unforgetable atmosphere

Amazing place to stay in Ubud. So beautiful, calm and peaceful. The atmosphere here is magical. We were lucky enough to see balinese dance show during our dinner. The staff is so helpful, nice, attending and always smiling. We learned a lot about balinese traditions from them. Room is comfortable, food is delicious.

Great location inside the old palace gardens, so close to the tourist market yet peaceful and quiet inside. I prefer the old style buildings, with great character and charm. Nice breakfast included and served in the Lotus restaurant next door, overlooking the lotus ponds and temple.

A very nice, welcoming hotel in the heart of Ubud.

Such a lovely hotel. Great atmosphere with each room having a traditional feel, particularly being able to eat breakfast 🍳 overlooking the beautiful water palace! Loved the location too - in the heart of Ubud and close to everything but still quiet in the grounds. The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the staff who are so kind, friendly and helpful. Thank you to you all for making our stay so good!

Chemical mosquito repellants indoor and outdoor, totally get why they’re helpful but as an asthmatic I wish there was a non chemical alternative - maybe mosquito net or screen? In the end we didn’t need the repellents anyway, unplugged or removed them, kept lights low and didn’t get mosquitoes inside. Generally the stay was really great.

Amazing Second Stay

This is my second stay here and it really felt like coming back home. The staff is amazing- friendly and very helpful. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The Spa is absolutely wonderful! Will certainly go back

Noisy busy location. Our room was very loud (music in the restaurant every night) and overlooked by the palace visitors, so not very private. So be careful which room you get.

Lovely stay, will come again next time

Everything was perfect, no complaints at all. Staff were super attentive and helpful, making them the real highlight of the trip.

Breakfast was good, but very large and Bali Coffee is very bitter. Consider a smaller alternative that's maybe just a cappacino and bread items.

Stay with wonderful light show and great dance performance

The Saraswati resort is in the middle of the shopping streets with many restaurants, but the Saraswati restaurant is most beautiful and surround the huge lotus ponds and waterfalls. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and loved it. Our villa overlooked the lotus ponds and we watched the dance performance from our verandah, amazing.

This is the best place to stay if you want traditional Balinese style and close to all the action!!

The location ! The lovely smiles from all of the staff. The doors to the suites are gorgeous ! The breakfast setting right at the water palace is idyllic The porch I very comfy specially when raining .

So much sound gets thru the old doors. You can hear scooters all night . And neighbors talking late into the night. The toilet is very low to the ground which is difficult . No shower only a tub.

The place to stay in Ubud!

Location was exceptional. Within walking distance of every key location in Ubud. Staff was first class. EVERY member of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Breakfast was wonderful every morning, as was the staff at Cafe Lotus. Room was very comfortable and special.

A little oasis in the centre of Ubud.

Perfection. It was a beautiful property - the grounds were stunning. The room, twin, was lovely and the bathroom amazing. It was surprisingly silent despite being on the main road. The staff were helpful and attentive. Their desire to help was genuine, rather than obligatory.

The included breakfast at the attached restaurant. I highly recommend booking without breakfast -> there are many other options available.

Overall we felt unsafe because security was nonexistent and we were harassed.

The breakfast was average. What was annoying was being called every morning asking if we were going to breakfast when we just wanted to sleep.

The bath with not enough pressure to use the hand held shower as a shower. The bathroom soaps that smelt horrible. The building works that weren’t advised until we arrived. The wifi was bad and finally to top the cake the 4am banging on our door by unknown people that was both shocking and scary.

A very complete central ubud hotel

Very central location, wonderful staff, free entry to the water temple, free 20 min back massage, they sorted our pick up from the airport and onward journey no problem, quiet pool, the restaurant looks into the water temple and you can see and hear the nightly balinese traditional dance show for free

Sadly they had building work so building noise in the daytime also entrance to property like a builders yard, once its done then really not a alot to dislike I feel

Beautiful traditional hotel in very central location.

Excellent location in central Ubud. Lovely traditional Balinese hotel. A complete sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Very spacious rooms fitted out in the traditional way. Special mention for all of the staff who were very warm and friendly and made us feel at home. Highly recommend.

There were some temporary building works going on, but it really wasn’t a problem for us.

Ubud at the very heart like in paradise

The attention of the staff is excellent. It is the value that is best appreciated. The facilities are exceptional. We organised all the excursions with them and we were calm and excellently attended at all times. A great personal team, my congratulations.

There were some building work going on, but they were extraordinarily respectful with times and trying not to be an obstacle.

As we were only staying in ubud for a few days it was a perfect location

The location right next to the temple. The staff were warm and welcoming and gave us a wonderful blessing when we arrived. They arranged tours etc The price. Good value.

No shower. Only bath which took too long to fill up and not much hot water. Building works so difficult to arrange transport to pick us up etc needs updating

The property was beautiful, the lotus cafe gives you a beautiful view at breakfast. Staff were lovely. Great location

The smell of sewage in the bathroom made enjoying the lovely bath impossible. Currently a bit of building work going on in the compound. Although we were asked about dietary requirements several times during booking & check in, when we went to breakfast the waiter was a little annoyed and said we should have pre warned them!

Great for staying in Ubud.

Ideal central location within the water palace. Breakfast in the water palace restaurant was ample with variety of choices including Indonesian and Western. Also the setting had lovely views over the water palace. Free to visit the water palace anytime. If you book dinner you get to watch the balinese dance show for free. The villa felt like your own home amongst the temple grounds.

They're improving the accomodation so you get to see construction work in progress. However you get to see how they make the villas using traditional construction methods.

Had an enjoyable stay and with a few modifications could have been even better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most welcoming. The location was very central to Ubud shops , restaurants etc. Breakfast was enjoyable. Room was comfortable. We enjoyed the pool.

We were in the room next to the restaurant. Noise from the music on our first night was very loud. Also the rearranging of chairs and tables in the morning was quite noisy and we were woken up just after 6 am when this was happening. No having an overhead shower was awkward but we got by. Had to be very careful with the steps from bedroom to the bathroom and also to the balcony.

Amazing setting as part of the Ubud Water Palace Complex

Very poor reception access (construction going on with mounts of rubble deposited) and loads of scooters parked inhibiting access. Noisy construction activity around rooms. Very disappointed I wasn’t advised of it when booking/closer to the time of my arrival.

Great value for money central Ubud with teens

Excellent location. Wonderful friendly service. Beautiful traditional rooms with modern bathrooms. Fair sized & clean pool (for boutique style accommodation). 20 min free massage was amazing. We were upgraded after a mix up with our booking. Also received free meal as compensation for mix up (as we had to move rooms halfway through our stay). Staff went above & beyond to help, I was very impressed & grateful.

The one thing that might need tweaking is the breakfast service. Breakfast offering is a set menu (choice of 3 types) and was generous, however the service itself was a bit hit and miss. Is meant to start at 7:30am but doesn't really start until 8am (we got caught out once on early day trip), and another day had to wait 30+ minutes for food.
