Nick's is great. Loved it all. Great staff, close to shopping, Ubud is a whole different world to anywhere I've been. Breakfast included was simple but superb. Beautiful surroundings. There is no parking except scooter. Believe me you don't t want to drive a car in Bali.

Nick’s Hidden Cottages is an Absolutely spectacular deal. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The location is nestled in and overlooks gorgeous rice fields. It is minutes away from shopping and fantastic restaurants. A total gem !

mixed feelings about this , the room and bed were comfortable although the interior was shabby and didn’t look very clean . There was marks on the wall and it could have done with s coat of paint also the linens and mosquito net were very discoloured . The pool was ok although after the first day there were no pool towels and you had to use the very grey bath towels . I basically felt that the staff just all wanted tips , actually it tells you in the hotel handbook that the staff have a low salary so tips are appreciated . It also tells you that your in Indonesia so things are cheaper for you . Whilst I appreciate they may have a low salary and I would be happy to tip it just felt you should do this all the time , and staff were only kind or only spoke to you if you did this .Actually on the last day I had no cash which proved my point , to leave the hotel there are several flights of steps . The guy said he’d help me with my luggage I said I’m sorry I have no money to give you , he turned around and walked of leaving me to struggle . I would have happily and freely given more tips than I did but the underlying feeling of it constantly being wanted was off putting . Breakfast was ok but there were lots of ants on the table . The choice is quite limited , the waiter was good and I happily tipped him . The location was ok aside from the hawkers that lines the street and were on your case as soon as you left the hotel. Found Ubud to be very touristy with everyone wanting money

The exterior of the rooms is quite unique and peaceful, however I found the inside very uncomfortable - old, stained sheets and curtains, musty smell, ants, no shower curtain so water goes everywhere, slow drains ... I wouldn’t recommend, unfortunately.

Once there the property is set in lovely grounds with lots of little cottages and traditional Indonesian architecture. Rooms reasonably basic but clean and comfortable.Lovely pool as a place to cool down after a hot day in ubud. Walkable to ubud Central and the monkey forest. Probably one of my fave places that Ive ever stayed. Definitely not just another hotel.

Perfect stay and well beyond my expectations.Close to everything, free daily water bottles, clean, beautiful swimming pool, delicious breakfast included, air conditioning, helpful staff. The only downside for me was the internet very slow and i was unable to watch netflex or any video, however it well desrves 5 stars from me.

Staff were great and my room was excellent. It takes a long time to get hot water though so I didnt bother and just had a cold shower as it is so hot. Bisma Street runs parallel to Monkey Forest and is a little more quiet so it was a good place to be. There is a shortcut to Monkey Forest through Nicks Pension just up the street so it cuts down on the walking. The whole place was quite clean in general. The only thing I would pick on was that my bed had a duvet but no top sheet so I wondered how often that duvet cover was changed (hopefully before the next guest at least!) Also the tablecloths in the restaurant were a bit grubby. Very happy with my stay though.

Absolute hidden gem! Couldn't recommend it enough. Location is great, off a main road so really calm but so close to the center, really perfect! What made this place so great was the staff, they were trained like a 5* hotel, so friendly and would do anything to make our trip comfortable. Also massive plus is the inclusive breakfast and tea which are both delicious! The hotel has a restaurant that is really worth a visit. Better than some overpriced Indonesian restaurants in town. I loved my stay here and can't wait to go back!

We had the most amazing time here! The breakfast is delicious and the service exceptional! The staff go out of their way to be helpful and attend to any of your needs.The hotel has activities at 14:00 everyday which teach you about Balinese customs and practices. We attended one of these - it was great! The three men showed us how to make a special Balinese offering. Tea and cake at 16:00 everyday - delicious!Wifi - great!A really beautiful place to relax and enjoy!

Nick's Hidden Cottages is the place we will go to again for a relaxing holiday in Ubud. The staff and service at Nicks was faultless. The staff were always ready with a smile and a wave. The breakfast was delicious and the couple of times we had our evening meal in the restaurant was also delicious and well presented. The pool area is very clean and inviting. The gardens in the grounds are well maintained and beautiful with butterflies, birds and other life flitting around. The position of the Cottages is very central to Ubud. It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the markets and the shopping strip. A 10 minute walk to the Monkey Forest and about 15 to 20 minute walk to the amazing Blanco Art Musuem. There are numerous places within walking distance. The early morning is an ideal time to take a walk through the rice fields (about 1 1/2 hours). Nicks do offer a free shuttle service into Ubud centre if walking is not what you want.

Stayed for 2 nights (family of 2 adults and 1 teenager). The pool was well used, and we used the on-site restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Limited menu choice for dinner, and limited drinks choice for non alcoholic. We walked everywhere and it was close to the main hub and shops of Ubud. Spa across the road, and restaurants on same road. They also provided us with a driver for travel to our next destination. Very friendly and interested staff, great presentation. Although on the side of a hill, the layout is great. The pool area is really nice.

Nicks sets a standard for service that few can ever hope for. Facilities are beautiful. It's a bit of a walk into central ubub but then it is very quiet at night. Not a great choice for party hardy all night long. Super for romantic couples and families

Nick's had some of the friendliest staff in Bali. Nick helped my girlfriend out with some medicine when she was feeling sick and they did everything they could to accommodate us. The room was just ok. The windows didn't close all the way so bugs could get in easily. The toilet wouldn't stop running and made an annoying sound, and the shower opens into the bathroom, getting water everywhere (I know this is typical, but is was especially bad here with the angle of the shower head). The pool was divine and the breakfast was decent. The location is not too bad. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into town, but the road there is in miserable shape.

But arriving inside the compound after a short walk between rice paddies, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff and all our worries disappeared. The staff at Nick's were fantastic. They really seemed to love their jobs, made us feel very special and nothing was ever too much trouble! Purely based on the staff I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Our room felt like the real Bali (wooden decor on the ceiling, double doors, frangipani flowers). Set in a terraced layout, the grounds are very peaceful and it is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main street in Ubud. We cannot wait to visit Nick's again!!

The staff are lovely and helpful. The gardens and overall appearance is just what you want to see in Bali. Our room was large, but getting dated. the Shower was not good, no shower curtain or screen, so water sprayed all over floor and toilet. Toilet constantly ran and was not able to be fixed. Room had a slightly musty smell. The construction work next door was a little annoying, but not the fault of the hotel. Above all the pool was lovely and from inside the complex you could have been in jungle. I would stay again if I ever returned to Ubud.

I guess what I appreciated the most were the people who worked there. Also clean room and bathroom. No bugs or Mosquitos. Beautiful landscaping and delicious curry. Many steep steps so not good for anyone with hip or knee problems so a better hotel would be Nicks Pension right down the road. Same owner and same wonderful people and Bali energy.

To access the hotel you have to follow a narrow path over a rice field which is reasonably well lit in the evening. The hotel is clean. Staff are more than friendly and very helpful. the room was huge with a four post bed with a massive bathroom. Every room has its own balcony/sitting area all of which are far enough apart so you dont feel like you are overlooked. The pool was very nice and cleaned daily. breakfast is basic but fresh. One nice touch is every morning every room has their own offerings placed in their door way. Would certainly stay there again! The hotel is within less than 10 minutes walking distance to the tourist information at the centre of ubud and a number of restaurants and a perfect location for of treks around ubud.
