Hotel Plaza e de Russie - Relais & Châteaux

My stay at Hotel Plaza e de Russie in Viareggio was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment of arrival, the hotel demonstrated an outstanding level of elegance, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. I would particularly like to commend the Hotel Director, whose exceptional professionalism, remarkable qualifications, refined manner, and genuinely warm approach created an atmosphere of effortless excellence. Her attention to detail and gracious treatment truly distinguished the entire experience. The restaurant is equally impressive, with impeccable service, outstanding cuisine of the highest quality, and an extraordinary selection of wines. The room was absolutely perfect 10/10 for comfort, elegance, cleanliness, and attention to detail. A truly distinguished hotel that delivers excellence at every level. Nothing cause was perfect

Breakfast was ok, but not worth the €30/head we were charged. The rooms were pleasantly decorated and the bed was amazing! All the staff we encountered were nice and pleasant and professional.

Little things like tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice, and not unlike other R&C places we’ve stayed in. The information relating the hotel were misleading, in that the impression from the detail was there was a rooftop bar/lounge area (which was for the penthouse suite only) and that there was a managed beach area associated with the hotel (there wasn’t, just two recommended nearby, and we even had to pay for beach towels - hardly the 5star we were expecting.

Location was central - only a few mins walk from restaurants. Street parking was easy to find (might be because we went in May not peak season yet). We got given a room facing the main street and it was a fabulous view to wake up to each morning. AC and wifi worked well. Bed was hard and we loved it. Service was amazing - probably because there weren't many guests.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down as the hot food were all pre-cooked, and it was the exact same selection of food everyday - could do a variety on alternative days.

Not to the level of what is advertised. Not really R&C
