Wonderful stay!

Janice and her husband were wonderful and very nice. They made our stay exceptional. My wife lost her phone on the long walk to the estuary. Janice found it after a long search. The accommodations were great, and the room, kitchen, and bathroom were user friendly and fully stocked. They had lots of tourism maps, books and guides. We would stay there again. The location is excellent with fantastic views.

Amazing stay and view

Perfect stay, the view is stunning, the apartment is very well furnished with everything you could need for cooking (even spices for example). And the host is very welcoming with charming little attentions.

very nice view, quiet and great location

We received a warm welcome from Janice. The apartment is on the top floor and has three skylights from which you can enjoy a fantastic view of the sea and the island of Raasay. The apartment is fully equipped; we didn't lack for anything. There's a lot of additional information and books about the Isle of Skye if you have time to browse. It's very clean, and everything is well explained. This accommodation provides a good base for exploring the north of the island, in particular, and is not far from Portree.

If there is a lot of sun during the day, it can get quite warm in the apartment in the evening.

Wonderful stay and stupendous views!!

Wow, what a wonderful place! I just wanted to move in and live here. People are driving all over Skye in traffic jams looking for great views (including us) but not much better than looking out your bedroom window here!! And a super size comfy bed to boot! And if you go in May you also get to watch the cute little newborn lambs run races.

Only thing was the chairs at the table... We could not stop from sliding out of them.

Clean, great location, stunning view and a wonderful host!

Janice was such a warm and inviting hostess. The accommodations were sparkling clean and comfortable and the view was gorgeous! A quick 15 minute drive to Portree.

The “beach” is very rocky with no proper trail to get down to it. My suggestions (not a criticism, just a thought) would be to put in a trail and maybe a small sitting area. And if there had been a small balcony to sit on while at our room that would have been absolutely perfect. We loved looking out the windows and using the binoculars to find wildlife but you can’t see out the windows very well when you’re seated inside.

This is a lovely quiet place to recharge if you are travelling.

The accommodation is excellent. Full kitchen, king size bed and a great view. It was nice to be away from the busy town close by. The host was helpful and made us feel welcome.

It’s not a dis-like per se; more of a misunderstanding? From the pictures, I assumed we were right on the water. I had visions of taking our coffee to the beach every morning. In reality, the water is a 5-6 min walk through a sheep pasture ( loaded with sheep dung) and no real place to sit. The apartment is up high above the water, so lovely views.

Perfect for us.

This was one of our best stays during our 3 week tour of Scotland. The apartment is in a beautiful location, totally peaceful and around 10mins drive from Portree. The apartment is very well laid out and very comfortable - a good deal of thought has gone into it's design. We would certainly return here if at all possible on future visits to Skye.

Perfect!!! Best choice for Skye.

We had such a friendly welcome from the owner Janice who is there for anything you might need, but not intrusive. The owners live on the ground floor and there was an additional bedroom on our floor for other guests but we hardly heard anything of our neighbours, it was very quiet and peaceful. We couldn't believe how beautiful the apartment was when we walked in, Janice clearly has a good eye as it was all beautifully furnished and co-ordinated, it was clearly a labour of love. And the view was just stunning! Fantastic honeymoon stay, perfect for a couple, very central to everything but 3 miles off the main road so very peaceful. Owners clearly very keen on guests having the best stay they can judging by their response to previous reviews - what great customer service! Thank you for the wine and crisps!

The shower was not very powerful and temperature up and down a bit and there is a sharp bit on the corner of the kitchen units that we caught ourselves on a couple of times so the owners might want to look at that but otherwise it was just perfect.

Exceptional Experience at Balmoral

All I can say is WOW. This place was magical the service and owners Janice and Roddie were some of the loveliest people my partner and I had met. The apartment was clean the shower and toilet were lovely and seeing dolphins and seals from the window was a bonus! The owners were very accommodating to our needs and helped where they could if we needed it. Alba and Buttons shared the same temperament as the owners although we were allowed to stroke those two! The aesthetic of the place was beautiful and really made our holiday. Thank you so much for having us!

Skye Coastal Cottage

Balmoral View is one of two first floor apartments at this property. It's well equipped, comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with a lovely view over the Sound of Raasay when the weather permits.

Minor point, but access to the property is about 3 miles off the main road down a mostly single track lane with passing places and a gated dirt track to access the driveway. Although this remoteness is appealing in some ways, it takes a while to get out and about.

The location is stunning and the homeowner is super sweet. The room was newly refurbished and just lovely. Highly recommend staying here, the private beach is a little bit of a walk but definitely worth it.

The beach at the bottom of the garden was a lovely bonus to the property. The flat itself was well presented and homely with amazing views. The owners were very accommodating and welcoming and were happy to provide recommendations and information for our trip.

We were not aware before arriving that the accommodation was above the owners house. It would have been nice to have that specified on the website. Also, despite the flat itself being very clean we felt that the kitchen and cooking utensils were not of a good standard.

Super loft conversion in a fantastic setting.

The property is a fantastic loft conversion with views over lochs and islands with a short walk to a private beach. The owner was friendly and helpful.

Seating for eating was slightly uncomfortable and sloping ceilings will make things slightly difficult for tall people.

Superb apartment with views over the sound of Raasay

The apartment was a comfortable size with stunning views towards Raasay. We could spot dolphins from looking out of our window. The bed was very large and comfortable and everything was very clean. From the property you can walk to the pebble beach and watch oystercatchers and we also saw a seal bobbing around. The location is also conveniently located at the centre of Skye. The owner is very friendly as well and accommodated us charging our car. Absolutely loved it and would definitely come again.
