Fantastic accommodation in an ideal location!

It was a beautiful wee house, perfect size for my husband, my mum and I to stay. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and everything was very clean. The bedrooms were a good size with lots of wardrobe space. The hosts were very hospitable, having prepared us a welcome gift basket with fruits, biscuits and more, and provided information about the house and surrounding areas.

Loved everything, was very easy to check in and get keys. The property was great, clean and very accommodating. Great location.

Only slight thing if we had to pick would be the bed bit uncomfortable but that’s it everything else was great.

Spacious, comfortable home, everything you need provided. Quiet area, 20 minute walk to town, but taxi numbers provided…. Useful for the walk back especially if you have completed a long walk earlier in the day👍 Welcoming pack a lovely touch. Flowers were beautiful.

Cosy, comfortable and great value cottage

It was a very cosy cottage, we loved our stay. It’s a rustic feel but it had everything we needed. It was lovely to be a little out of the town centre but still close to shops. Our son loved sitting out in the little garden in the afternoon since we had some nice weather during our stay.

We struggled a bit figuring out the heating (but we come from a hot climate so could just be us!), but got it sorted. The only other thing would be a curtain/blind in the kitchen would be a great addition as it was very sunny during our stay and it was a bit blinding in the afternoon.

You need to book this abode well in advance. Because it is worth it indeed. The house is located close to the centre of Portree. Only 15 minutes walking. The place boasts a spacious two cars parking. The House was perfectly clean and the kitchen was immaculate and fully equipped. Wi-Fi flew! Everything was amazing and homey. Thanks for our holiday)))!

A lovely, cosy surprise - welcoming indeed.

Very warm and cosy for our winter holiday on Skye. The fruit basket with fudge and biscuits was also a lovely touch which we appreciated when we arrived. We found everything was easy and very comfortable. We weren't sure what to expect as we had been staying in hotels and guesthouses prior to this. It was a lovely surprise to have our expectations surpassed.

My husband and son went on a photographic expedition on Skye and I was in the lodge cosy and warm.

We were self catering but all facilities we needed were there.

As the name suggests, very welcoming home to stay in.

Location good. Short walk or drive into Portree. So clean and cosy. Kitchen facilities good with plenty of dishes, glasses etc and good cooker, fridge and freezer plus washing machine. Lovely touch to leave us treats on arrival.

Really only the TV which was difficult to find particular programmes as there were no terrestrial channels. However, we did not watch much tv and there were plenty of apps like Netflix, You Tube etc.

Quiet location, yet still well positioned for access to main sights to visit.

The host had provided lots of little extras to welcome us. We really liked the flowers, wine and little basket of helpful items.

For me, and only for me (hubby was ok) I found the sofas quite low.

A great vacation at a perfect location, even better than expected.

The house is in a very calm area outside of Portree, kitchen, livingroom, bathroom, sleepingroom, separate room for our daughter, we felt like at home from the beginning. There are board and card games in a cabinet available, and an hour before our departure we discovered a lot of video DVD's in the table below the TV screen. :-) Thanks God we had great weather all the time, so we had no opportunity to watch TV or videos. Old man of Storr is just 10 minutes away, most of the other points we wanted to visit like the fairy pools or the Quiraing circle are less than a hour away. Though we hiked once via Torvaig street and a coastal track to Portree to explore the town, we used the car to go there for shopping or to visit a restaurant. For us this location was perfect, a really cosy home for our 1 week vacation. A big Thanks to the hosts for preparing this so well, and for the welcome gift on the livingroom table!

Nice and roomy and very quiet

There was lots of space and the kitchen was well equipped. Nice outdoor deck . Host left fresh tulips, a bottle of wine and homemade Scottish tablet. It's a mile outside of town, so you probably need a car. However, with that location, it was super quiet.

We love Welcoming House and would stay again . Highly recommend

Welcoming House is a great base for your time on the Isle of Skye. We had a rental car , but it is walkable to Portree (about a mile) and is on a small dead end street in a quiet neighborhood right off the beginning of the Trotternish Peninsula Loop. The house was clean and well equipped and was a great place to return to everyday after exploring Skye. Portree has limited restaurants for a place that gets very busy so it was great to be able to pick up some food at the co op if we just wanted to eat when we got back to the house. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to get back to Skye !

Welcoming and comfortable stay

The place was lovely and clean and exceptionally well equipped. The dog enjoyed the garden, and the welcoming gifts of local beers and sweets were much appreciated. We would definitely go back.

I'm not sure I would say didn't like. But I'm not a fan of showers curtains, I prefer a screen. The walk down to the town was pleasant but a bit more of a struggle on the way back up the hill.

Séjour île de Skye

Emplacement près de Portree et des différents lieux touristiques. Quartier très calme, voiture garée devant la maison avec jardin. Machine à laver dans la cuisine. Maison spacieuse et fonctionnelle. Hôte réactif quand on lui envoyait des messages via booking.

Maison vieillissante (mais dans le ton des maisons environnantes) Chauffage difficile à mettre en route avec peu d explications (celui de la salle de bain ne fonctionnait pas). Moisissure dans la salle de bain. Lit et canapé trop mou à notre goût.

Ein zu Hause mit allem was man braucht

Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel eingerichtet. Der Kamin verbreitet wohlige Wärme und Gemütlichkeit. Die Küche ist komplett und hervorragend ausgestattet. Es gibt viele Verbrauchsmittel, auch Waschmittel für die Waschmaschiene, die auch gut funktioniert. Im Garten kann man die Wäschespinne benutzen, einwandfrei. Das Haus liegt direkt an der Ausfallstraße zu den Top-Zielen im Norden der Insel. Es ist trotzdem absolut ruhig, wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Man kann in die Stadmitte und zum Hafen laufen. Es sind zwar 2 km, aber es gibt einen beleuchteten Fußweg. Im Isle Inn ist von Dienstag-Donnerstag Live-Musik, unbedingt hingehen!
