Adalienes Retreat

This was a lovely self-catering apartment, well equipped with everything you need to prepare your own meals, including a fridge, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle and a full range of kitchen utensils and cookware. The bedroom was cute and cosy, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The apartment was also very quiet, allowing for a great night's sleep. The location is excellent — just a five-minute walk from the main square and town centre. It is incredibly convenient while being tucked away from the noise and bustle. What I valued most, however, were the wonderful hosts. I had the pleasure of meeting both Carol and her husband, Alastair, who are genuinely warm, friendly and accommodating people. Alastair was particularly helpful when checking me in and even went out of his way to drive to the apartment at 9.30pm to bring me super glue when my shoe broke! Such thoughtful gestures really make a difference when travelling. I particularly want to recognise Carol for her exceptional hospitality, generosity and thoughtfulness. Her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond made a lasting impression on me, and I genuinely appreciated the care she showed throughout my stay. Both Carol and Alastair are wonderful hosts who genuinely care about their guests and go the extra mile to make them feel welcome. I would be delighted to stay at any of their properties again. This would absolutely be my accommodation of choice when I return to Portree, and I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye.
