D'Coin Cottages Lembongan

We loved our stay here, the room was very spacious, clean and had a lovely island feel to it. The staff were lovely, our breakfasts were delicious and the location was great. We travelled here in June and didn't have issues with bugs or geckos in the room.

Facilities were adequate and very clean, and the aircon (just) coped with the heat of the day. The 'rustic' cottages are comprised of single sheets of wood, with no insulation, so heat up quickly. Care was taken to ensure no mosquitos in the rooms via a plug-in device (I don't know what, but it worked). The pool was good- long enough to do lap swimming. Restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk (bring a torch) and there are several convenience stores nearby which sell beer and other essentials. The staff are extremely friendly, but have poor English ability. They did 'drop everything' to get us to the ferry when the tour company messed up our return transfer.

The biggest issue was that the rooms have no sheer curtains to provide privacy when the (blackout) curtains are closed. Staff and other guests can look into all the rooms if the curtains are not drawn. Breakfast (pre-ordered) was small, the English Breakfast comprising two eggs, one (overcooked) piece of bacon, two pieces of toast (with one patty of butter, with a choice of either fresh fruit slices OR fruit juice, and coffee or tea. Breakfast always arrived exactly on time. Despite specific prior advice that myself and my wife were diabetics, only sugar was available as a sweetener. Fortunately we had our own, as we have become accustomed to that being the norm in SE Asia. Our cottage had three steep steps down into the bathroom area, with no hand/ grab rail (a potential problem at night/ when drunk (or both). Internet is available, but is slow. There is no TV, but that was not of concern. Phone reception is adequate. Communication prior to arrival was abysmal. Management either don't read or don't understand the Booking.com Messaging system. I attempted to take up their offer of Transfer from our Bali Hotel, with 3 Messages and two emails over a period of 4 weeks before I gave up and made alternative arrangements. Not relevant to the hotel, but in the questions asked about the nearby Sandy Beach NOTE that this is only accessible via private property,

Very clean and friendly staff. Quiet complex

Some bits very a bit tied requiring TLC rotten banister and sunbed Lounger leg fell off !! Bike rental onsite but bike the bike we were given had a few issues.

It was near the sandy bay resort . It was clean and rooms a great size. Comfortable bed!

The pool was very warm and breakfast times were very late so hard to make any of the yoga classes offered.
