Mountain hotel with great views
The Gasthof Ochsalm is in a rural location above Kirchberg with a stunning view & dining terrace area. Anyone driving to this hotel needs to be happy navigating narrow roads with hairpin bends, but the roads are not busy & the location is worth the effort. There is also a small dairy farm on site. A great place to relax over a drink on the terrace & admire the views. The food was great but as the hotel was not busy the kitchen was only open til 7.30pm the night we stayed. (July 2019) The room was spacious as was the bathroom, all very comfortable.
There are plenty of options for walks higher up the mountain, unfortunately one of the closest appears to have been taken over for the downhill mountain bike track which starts at the top of the Hannenkamm. As there are dairy cows on site there can be some agricultural smells! For us that was part of being in the mountain environment & it wouldn't stop me staying again.

As noted previously in the comments, the access road is narrow (mostly one way road with wider places to pass other cars) and curvy + steep sometimes (consider that if you plan to visit places around by car). Good remote location, close to trails (bike trail right above for instance).

Locatie was geweldig, prachtig uitzicht en heerlijk rustig gelegen op een almweide. Bediening erg goed en attent. Kwaliteit van het eten was top. Locatie erg goed verzorgd.
