Friendly, family run and reasonably priced - highly recommend and hope to return

Location - a 5-10 min walk to shops/restaurants/main lifts (we kept our skis in the locker room at Hahnenkamm Lift Intersport for ease). Good choice of central restaurants and bars. Gamshof is family run and full of character and charm. Welcoming, efficient staff, small reasonably priced bar with seating - great place to meet other like-minded guests. Lovely buffet style breakfast, afternoon Goulash soup. Pleasant, clean, modern rooms.

Lovely traditional and friendly hotel. Rooms were very comfortable and excellent breakfast.

Traditional style cosy property and very friendly staff. Rooms were very comfortable with a kettle available on request. Breakfast was excellent, as was the goulash soup when we came off the mountain after a long days skiing! The bar was well stocked with lovely area to sit for a relaxed drink in the evening.

Friendly, central, comfortable and quiet in downtown Kitzbuhel.

Central and quiet in downtown Kitzbuhel. Very friendly and service minded staff. spacious room with good bed and bathroom. Skicellar with separate night entrance to not disturb reception. Very good breakfast. possible to unwind in the sauna after a long day of skiing.

Perfect for combining skiing with relax time.

We had 4 amazing ski days. I full recommend this hotel, because even though the ski lift is far away, there are bus options from the hotel included in the ski ticket. The hotel is beautiful (a typical Austrian guesthouse) and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very, very good.

The stay was good but frustrating as I had to organise somewhere else to use WIFI so I could work.

The staff were very nice and friendly, the breakfast was good and the room was traditional Austrian and comfortable.

The WIFI didn't work at all well in our room which was disappointing. When a property advertises WiFi, as a guest, you expect it to work efficiently, especially if it is needed for work.

the staff were very nice, helping whatever is needed. The location of the hotel is amazing, right at the center of Kitzbühel. The room was big and comfortable and the breakfast was good. I had a great stay overall!

there's no elevator in the hotel which is a bit hard with a suitcase, but the staff members were kind enough to offer me to carry my luggage for me.

Excellent, wish we stayed longer

Everything was excellent, from the service - the owner was so friendly, caring and willing to give us the best experience, to the comfort and small but significant details in the room, to the location, to the price and the very tasty and great variety at breakfast. Sleep quality was also so good, I wish we could have stayed longer than one night but for sure would be our only choice if we returned to Kitzbuhel.

Would be great to have a kettle in the room but otherwise it was faultless and actually not needed because the amenities were sufficient anyway.

Incompetent, rude, total lack of customer service

The hotel is on a good central position but near the train track with trains running all night. This woke me up repeatedly as the room temp was high and I had to leave the window open. The room itself was adequate and breakfast was good but crowded.

I new I was an hour early to check in and I explained I’d be happy to leave my luggage and get on with my day but the receptionist said that a room would be ready already. First I was given a room that someone else was still in, all their belongings were in it. The initial receptionist apologised at least. I was told the new room should be ready but if not to just leave my stuff in it. That was fine as I had arrived 1 hr prior to check in. I came back after 2 hours to only find the bed made but used towels were still in the bathroom! Housekeeping were told that i had slept in it the night before! How?! I just checked in and you made me pay upfront! I was then told to wait and they will clean the room but I had plans and could not wait that long. Whilst initially waiting, there wasn’t much of an apology, it would have been nice to have been offered a drink whilst waiting but no such offers were made at this point. The new receptionist also couldn't see much of a problem having been sent into an untidy room 3x! When the hotel owner got involved his initial response was “but the room was cleaned up quickly for you”. I’ve been told I can’t have a guest card to use public transport in the area for free, every single hotel prior to this one and after this one issued me with a guest card. I guess it’s a hassle and no money in it for the hotel. The second receptionist Gudrun was quite rude and even said I’m not a guest! What am I if not a guest?! I guess I’ll never find out. Absolute shambles, just after money, no customer service and total incompetence! And a lot of train track noise when the window is open at night! This place is a no go

Wonderful Hotel, great location

Lovely hotel with lots of charm and character. Great location, easy short walk to town centre and restaurants. Wonderful views with a deck from my 3rd floor room. Helpful staff, very good breakfast selection, and they made up a breakfast box for me because I had to leave early the last morning. Highly recommend this hotel.

There is no lift at this hotel, which i knew when I booked a room on the third floor. There was no hot water for my 5.30am early morning shower, as I was leaving early.

We expected a pleasant stay and got what we wanted.

A pleasant family operated hotel in a small town used to dealing with tourists. Large room with a balcony giving a view of nearby rooftops. Unusual layout as the balcony was accessed via the bathroom. Good breakfast. Regular daily cleaning of room.

Excellent family-run hotel in the center of the alpine ski racing universe

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate both myself and my bicycle (I'm on a bikepacking holiday). Their recommendations for restaurants were perfect. The breakfast is filling and nutritious - honestly, one of the best I've had at a hotel in Europe. The room is small but super comfortable, and the balcony allowed for perfect evening reading over a local beer. The bed is most comfortable, and the TV offers a lot of channel options in multiple languages. The tap water (from a local spring) is the BEST, and the water pressure is great. Honestly, you can tell the pride of ownership for this family-run hotel.

We just loved Kitzbuhel. Beautiful walk to Schwarzee Lake and hikes up and around the area.

Nice ski storage area, lovely breakfast and very helpful., friendly staff. Easy walk to the river and all around the town. Charming spot.

We were originally in the top floor but as we are tall people, the ceilings were too low for us. The staff took care of it quickly, and we got a room that met our needs.

Everything was wonderful at the Gamshof. Room was cozy and kitchy. Lobby bar and lounge area was an extention of the room and so comfy. Staff were amazing, lovely, warm, and so nice and kind. Claudia and the young man (very tall. Apologies for not remembering names that well, but you were so sweet to me and my best friend that drove down to visit for the day). Drinks by the fire place- and very delicious wine. Wonderful and very filling breakfast. Huge variety of options. Juices, variety of coffee, eggs, bacon ,baskets of breads and buns, yougurts, boil your own eggs, cheeses and meats. Epic breakfast. What's not to like???!!! We had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel. Ski room downstairs was secure and warm! Great place for ski and boot storage Our room had a lovely view from the balcony (do yourself a favour and book a room with balcony!). Parking lot is 100 feet away, or you can park at hotel and not worry about the car. It's a 7 min walk to the main lift (gondola) or take the free RINGBUS to any lift in the are...seconds from the hotel. Seriously....stay here! We saw lots of other hotels but this one was just PERFECT. Again, thank you Claudia for such a great stay. You really left positive impression.

Nice and cosy hotel.

Breakfast is nice, after ski - the hotel serve soup which is a bonus. Location is near to the city centre, and main ski area is 10 minutes walk, but there is a ski bus that is 1 min from the hotel.

I hope they would more pillows in the room. The pillows also got flattened / thin easily. It's around 10 mins walk to the station.
