Alpina was under construction so we were upgraded to their sister hotel Monopol. It was diagonal opposite the train station. Good size rooms. Friendly staff The bar on rooftop has best views of Lucerne

Good option for me personally but very much depends on your neighbours…

- Perfect location. - Friendly and helpful staff. - Clean room; the design and amenities look modern. - Coffee machine, electric kettle, tea, and coffee provided. - Relatively good price for the location. - A nice compliment in the form of Swiss water - great taste, by the way!

- I had read other guests’ reviews and was concerned about the bar. In my case, I asked to be placed in a room away from the bar, and the hotel staff did that. So yes, I didn’t hear the bar - but I did hear a couple in the neighboring room who were talking until midnight and then woke up again around 6:30. And that was with earplugs in. - The instructions sent by the staff via email / app about the “easy check-in” are a bit confusing. I tried to complete the check-in, but it’s impossible to do so without entering card details. I had already paid for my room, so I don’t understand why this is required. There should be an option like “already paid” or something similar. Also, almost all of my cards were declined. - The bed is too short. I’m tall, but just normally tall - nothing unusual - so the bed could definitely be at least 10 cm longer and also a bit wider. - The pillow was uncomfortable, but I managed by putting my sweater under it and building a little “construction” that worked for me. - A room was modern, but the whole building inside was quite “tired”. But it’s not a disadvantage for me.

Comfortable and Central

The comgortable hotel is very well located in the heart of Luzern, just a few minutes walk from the main station. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped for a sort visit.

Very conveniently located; close to the railway station, in the heart of the city. The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was large and comfortable.

Monopol Stay in Luzern

Location excellent just opposite the train station and easy to get back to. Theres a Coop supermarket downstairs at train station and kids were happy a Starbucks in the lobby. We were upgraded to the Monopol from our original booking at Alpina. Rooms were spacious and comfy including the beds. Breakfast was good.

Couldn't control the heating. It said we could control by ipads but it didn't change the temperature for us. So we slept with windows open which was then quite noisy.

Excellent location 2mins walk to train station. Lovely and helpful staff, good secure bag drop.Good size room and comfortable bed. Clean and quiet.

There was no fridge. There was a place the fridge was meant to be. Windows is dangerous for a child just open up completely, no bars or screen.

For the price, it was fine. But the noise during the night made for a very unrested following day

Location close to railway

Very noisy and loud. Reception did have a sign informing about some construction work ongoing. Pitty the info was not available before booking. People were moving furniture or other stuff at 4am in the morning for almost 2h. Room had noise cancelling headphones available which was very considerate, but it‘s not practicable to sleep with huge headphones. Very dated rooms and marked walls. No light at the bed. Maybe to be expected at 3stars and that price.

Street facing room which was extremely noisy from sunset to sunrise with party noise from bar below and cigarette smoke filling the room, on both nights. Unfortunately, not even exaggerating this bad experience and the empty bottles and cigarette butts littering the street below the morning after is testament to this. Room has no double glazed windows and no air conditioning to regulate temperature once you close a window. This hotel is in need of an upgrade to compete with other hotels who simply offer more at either the same price or less.

Conveniently located

The location near the station. Bright sunny room. Comfortable bed. Ample linen. Safe included. Balcony with a view.

The room was fairly basic, in need of maintenance - faded chipped wood panels and painting throughout. No air-conditioning - cooling or heating. Only a small vertical blow fan. No mini bar fridge for milk or personal perishable item. For the price, I thought the room needed a major refurbishment. It's disappointing for Switzerland.

Convenient and easy hotel near to train station

Surprisingly very good functional single room where you feel the extra space. Good night’s sleep. Open concept bathroom with the room but well thought out design wise. All in all very close to train station, eateries and boats, buses a stone’s throw from the lake. I would come again as very convenient.

Summertime. A little warm even with a stand alone ventilator. A small fridge would have been nice. Eating breakfast in another hotel as hotel doesn’t have the facilities.

Great location! Easy walk from the train station with luggage.

No air conditioning is rough in mid-summer. Old building…it happens. I do wish they provided fans that didn’t “time out” after 3 hours though! There were some weird things about the room. There was a window to the bathroom with no curtain that could allow someone across the street to get a show. The bathroom light switch also turns on a light in the main room. Not optimal for night time!

They allowed us to store our luggage before and after our stay to coincide with our train times. So helpful! The front desk staff was amazing. So friendly and courteous. Was able to change us to a balcony room which we enjoyed very much.

Some customer service training required for some staff.

Room was comfortable and clean and the hotel is in a great location close to the railway station, the old town and the boat piers.

We stayed 4 nights and every day we asked for the television to be fixed as it was not working. It was not fixed nor were we provided any updates or reasons for the issue.The young lady on the desk Day 1 was friendly and said she would have someone look into it. The young lady on reception the next 3 days desperately needs training on customer service. Her attitude to our requests to have the television fixed was met with eye rolling and a " yes, we know!" She rarely acknowledged our entry or exit with a hello or goodbye or even a smile and actually avoided any kind of eye contact. We witnessed the same attitude with other guests so it wasn't just us that she seemed to have an issue with. For those thinking of staying here, there is no air conditioning so in summer it could be very hot. This did not affect our stay as temperatures were only about 20 to 22C each day and opening the windows cooled the room nicely.

Overall nice place.

Property was just fine. Right in center of town. There was NO PARKING. Nearest spot cost around CHF 50. Would recommend not bringing car. We parked at an ice rink which was 25 minutes walking.

Great location near amenities

Hotel near Luzern’s Train Station and furnitures in the room were great quality but size of the room a bit cramped for 4 Adults. We also appreciate they have facilities for us to leave luggages before check-in time.

Very good location- 5 min walking distance from the center of the city . Despite of absence of air conditioning and incredibly hot weather two ventilators were waiting in room .
