Cool decor, good location

Bad wifi, heater very small, and no light at desk. When I checked in the floor was dirty and had some spray with a strong smell. After I contacted them they were quick to respond and had a cleaner to clean it out, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Room was clean and adequate however overpriced considering a small room not updated.

Rooms were clean. It was snowy so we could not enjoy the outside amenities. Non-touch check in is convenient for late arrivals.

Bathroom vanity worn, paint peeling over tub, shower head is not adjustable therefore you cannot avoid getting your head wet when needed. Outdated and non-functional wall heater and thermostat remains in place with a portable electric heater set next to the bed.

Loved the quietness and location. Was asked if I needed anything daily. Thought the cost was good.

Check in with no staff was easy but confusing at first. Room was really cold - but we got the heater going and had to keep it on as if switched off, it gets cold quickly.

Great location but very dirty. TLC desperately needed from owners

The property was close to the lake, really well situated.

Unfortunately our stay didn’t last very long. After arriving at the property and figuring out the remote check in, we entered our room and it was incredibly unclean. The walls, floors, skirting boards and bathroom were all dirty. The bed was broken, it sloped from the foot to the head of the bed and made a lot of noise. There was also a local man who had wandered in off the street sitting on the balcony, shouting at people as they went into their rooms. We booked another hotel a short drive away and left immediately.

Absolutely loved this place

Everything was perfect for me. I loved the location as it was possible to walk to the beach and around the city. The room was big and the bed super comfortable. Coffee and milk disponible for the morning at wake up. I wanna thank the manager for his good service and the friendly staff for making this place nice and spotless clean. I’m really happy about my choice to stay at Alder In and would come back anytime.

Recommend for a quick trip to Tahoe.

It was cute and quiet. It had several areas to hang out outside. My daughter liked the large connect four and chess set. Location was great. We could walk to the Red Hut Cafe for coffee and breakfast in the morning. And the evening, it was easy walk across the street to several restaurants. Keyless entry was nice.

Check in was different. The office is locked so we waited for a text that had our room info. Make sure to fill out the form they send you in an email since that triggers them to send your room info. The room itself was a little outdated. We didn’t have a dresser for our clothes and while there was a closet to hang clothes there weren’t enough hangers for everyone. Also our bathroom door wouldn’t lock.

The room was updated and very comfortable. The location was great! The property had a variety of activities like a Giant Chess game, Corn Hole, Jenga, Horse Shoes, etc.. There was a delicious Japanese restaurant about 2 blocks away.

There was no staff on site. The registration office was never open.

Location. Beds were comfortable. When we complained about the room not being cleaned the response was outstanding. A person was at our room in 5 minutes and actioned our complaints.

The room was not cleaned. We found urine on the toilet seat and hairs in the beds indicting the sheets and pillow cases had not been changed. The room had no air conditioning and the portable fans that were in the room were very loud. Not a problem in winter but we were there in summer.

Location and cleanliness 10/10!

Good value for money. Excellent location — close to shops and cafés, yet not on the main road but among pine trees, so it was quiet to sleep. This is not a 5-star hotel, so don’t expect new furniture, but what mattered was that it was truly clean. Bed linens and towels were spotless and felt like new. The bathroom and toilet were also clean. No bedbugs or insects were noticed. Just 5 minutes from Whole Foods, McDonald’s, Chipotle, restaurants, and cafés, and the beach is only about a 10-minute walk away.

I would recommend cleaning the air conditioner filters, as they are quite dusty. However, I didn’t use it, so this is basically my only comment.

Location

The photos did not accurately reflect the rooms or the property. Some rooms had aircon while others only floor fans. The toilet kept on getting clogged and the fact they had a plunger next to the toilet must mean that happens often. Overall, the property needs renovation and plumbing repairs.

Not going again

Location was really convenient. Can walk to the lakeside and nearby restaurants! Has air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

A bit dirty. There were some cobwebs which means it hasn't been that recently cleaned. I saw some bugs here and there. The towels weren't that clean either. Lights weren't that great. The fans were loud and I was able to hear it in the morning and at night. Sounds from outside were really easy to hear.

Fine for price and location

The location was perfect for what we were doing in town. Beach and restaurants across the street, walkable, other popular locations close by with car. Pretty cozy. Overall we would stay here again just for the price and location, but cleanliness of the rooms and facilities could be better.

It was weird not seeing any staff in person during our stay. Also i was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The floor was really gross and it looked like they cleaned the bare minimum but hadn't done a good clean in a while. Weird orangey mold or goo on the ceiling. Would've been more understandable if it was a stain, but there was a lot and it just wiped off with a dry tissue. Also unknown sticky spill by the night stand, yuck. Under the bed was super dusty and had an old piece of food underneath? It had not been cleaned in a while. Also there was a window in the bathroom that was pretty worn which was fine, but the fact there was some trash stuck to it was kind of gross. Just a lack of attention to detail. And bare minimum sweep through

The location of this property was absolutely perfect, really central, ample parking spaces and easy contactless check in.

Fantastic room, super comfy bed, great locaton and really affordable!

We had a fantastic couple nights at Alder Inn. Super affordable, VERY comfortable room and bed, great facilities in the room, and AMAZING location round the corner from Whole Foods! The staff were super helpful in advance when I needed to change the booking length, and were in contact every day via messaging to see if we needed anything. Couldn't fault the place at all, and we hope to stay there again in the future - thanks!

A very enjoyable stay. Will stay here again.

We checked in after a day of hiking, and it was wonderful. They upgraded us (for free!) from a queen sized bed/room to a king and it was heavenly. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean, and the shower pressure was heavenly.

We did have an AC unit in our room (room 13) but it took a while for us to find the sweet spot, and it was a bit loud.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The location and the staff. Everyone was extremely nice and the owner was so friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and nice and included a fan.

There is no AC and there is horrible lighting. It is really up to you to make your stay enjoyable. If you don’t plan on being there 24/7 then you will definitely have a great time. Only reason you wouldn’t enjoy the Inn as a chill space is because it gets sooooo hot and sweaty. But other than that everything was AMAZING!

Arrived, looked into the window of the room and at the exterior and left.

The photos DO NOT represent the place. Before we arrived I received a text saying it is a 'contactless' hotel, & nobody checks you in. The curtains were open to see our room & could see the bed was really close to window. There was a bed and dresser and plywood on the upper balcony of one of the buildings. It is not what it appears online. We didn't stay & did not get reimbursed.Will not use this service again.
