Very nice ... a great value. $100 rate is as good as any, and better than most at the $150 level

Breakfast was pleasant with good assortment of selections.

Couldn't find the butter ... probably due to user error. Peach perserves .... with toast and eggs, a synergy of flavor. Suggest a little Pico de Gallo .... great to get that Huevos a la Mexicana effect !

Staff failed to communicate about essential information before check-in. -I was charged a security fee above my booking total which ruined my budget. - staff failed to tell me that I need to place a room cleaning service at the reception for my room to be cleaned daily or towels changed. - breakfast was bad & not enough sitting area for all guests.

I left disappointed at how Mariott treats their employees.

I think it is AWFUL that you have one employee BY HERSELF in charge of breakfast on a SUNDAY. She was doing everything she possibly could to make everyone happy but you need another person! That is just not right.

The location was great. The complimentary welcome food was welcoming

but the facility was not kept to standard and there were extra charges for parking when booking.com said parking was free. Not pleasant with extra surprising charges.There were strands of hair in the food served.

Great Comfort and Service, Yet Breakfast Needs Better Organization

My stay at SpringHill Suites Austin South was enjoyable. The room was incredibly spacious, with plenty of room to relax and unpack, and the Wi-Fi worked reliably throughout my visit. The staff were cordial and attentive at every turn, making check-in and all interactions pleasurable. The shower provided intense water pressure and a consistent, comfortable temperature, and the entire hotel, from the lobby and hallways to the guest rooms, was spotless. Breakfast was well served, offering various hot and cold options for different tastes.

The breakfast area was overwhelmingly crowded, with no tables available. I was forced to return to my room to eat, as a line of guests waited to sit. This morning-time congestion needs urgent attention, whether through expanded seating or staggered dining times. Additionally, parking is paid, adding an extra fee to the room rate.

Decent stay for a short trip

Check in staff was great. Breakfast was good, and the staff in that area was great. Elevator wait time and access to rooms is pretty easy. Multiple quick food delivery options provided by the staff

There's no restaurante on property, but the hotels around the property have a couple of options. The room's door was misaligned to the latch, and I had to lift it in order to lock. Bathroom vent allows highway noise to enter the room, closing it would reduce the noise. Cleanliness of the room was not the best.

Good location and price, but not the most comfortable

This was an affordable room for our stay for the eclipse. We liked being on the top floor and being in close proximity to downtown Austin. It was easy to get on the highway from the hotel and was only a few minutes away from most things we wanted to do.

The bed was quite firm and hurt my back, and as others have noted there was a strong floral air freshener smell in the rooms. It didn't give me a headache but it wasn't entirely pleasant either. The highway noise was also quite loud - they definitely need to work on their soundproofing for their windows.

Moldy rooms!

Location

The first room was so humid from the air conditioning being old and moldy that the bed linens were damp! We changed rooms to one on the first floor. It wasn’t much better but acceptable enough. This Marriott was not at all like any of the ones we are used to staying in and we stay in them quite often and have never had a bad experience.

The breakfast offerings matched that of other hotels in the same tier. The front desk staff, both at nightly check in and morning check out, were very patient and kind to us as we resolved a booking issue. Our conversations with them were a positive experience and we left happy.

The breakfast area did not have the best layout which made it difficult for guests to maneuver through when it was busier. I think the gluten free options could have been better advertised. My friends felt she didn't have much to choose from. / On check-in we were told there wasn't a manager present and the hotel seemed short staffed which made me feel less safe when there was rowdiness in the hallways after midnight.
