Good value for location.

Good location and good value. Older hotel, so don’t expect 5 star. Room was quiet, until the construction a ross the street started. But we were warned about this, and it wasn’t so bad. In fact, I found it interesting to observe the new ferry terminal being built. Decent restaurant on site.

Beds and pillows are a bit too hard for me personally.

painful half-sleep with a decent view

the location is great, especially since parking is included - though the parking spots are VERY tight (even with a medium sized vehicle)

The bed was ROCK HARD. I couldn't sleep, I was in pain. I would've had just as good a sleep on the floor. I know some people like a firm bed, but this was ridiculous. the hallway was also really noisy until about 1am, and then again starting at 6 am. I did not sleep well either night I was there.

Location and clean. There were alot of sirens the night I stayed-a Monday- but that is downtown Victoria for you!

The rooms are very small and I asked for a room on the ground floor. So I got what I asked for. The bathroom required you to step up which is dangerous for older people since the bathroom itself was small and hard to get into the tub safely. The room had a strong chemical cleaning supply smell which was off putting. I really don’t care for the way that they kept sending me emails about checking in and checking out because over the course of the stay I received about my one night stay. THEY assume everyone is doing their transactions on a phone and that could really confuse anyone not used to texting and doing online sign in. For example the customer does the entire check in for them, just like those self check outs at grocery stores. I even had to photocopy my ID and include that rather than dealing with a real human being. And I felt like I was really alone in the place. I would not advise this place for an older woman travelling on her own but I was ok because I know Victoria well and I am not nervous about the street scene at night. The desk clerk basically just hand,ed me my keys I had already checked in electronically because an email implied I should so I did…but checkout was also by TEXT and so my encounters with humans at the hotel was just about NIL. They also don’t have staff to clean the rooms during your actual stay so if that bothers you then don’t stay here. This place is ok if you want a cheap place to stay, don’t care if you ever see a hotel employee or not, and it has parking included in the price and is right across the street from where the ferries depart to the US and is also near the seaplane and helicopters going to Vancouver and beyond. The Hotel Grand Pacific has a terrific bar with lovely food next door so save money by staying here and then splurge in a really nice bar meal and drinks (about $100 per couple depending upon how much you drink). NO AIR CONDITIONING which could be a problem in a rare heatwave which Victoria does get

The elevator needs maintenance. The attached liquor store was out of service, which would have been nice to know ahead of time. The bed frame was wobbly and noisy. The fridge compressor was noisy enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. We showed up a little early and our room was not ready, which is not a big deal. But we promised a text when it was ready and that never came. The desk staff did not ask how if we enjoyed our stay, so I'm guessing they weren't concerned.

room was fine, clean and updated great location, off season price was very reasonable.

the elevator did not work. i was on the fourth floor with two large heavy suitcases. the staff looked the other way while i carried them up the stairs. luckily my heat was fine. my friend who stayed there said his room was freezing and couldn’t adjust the heat.

Best place to stay in Victoria BC

The staff were incredible especially Eshu (hope I got the right). Belleville restaurant is in the hotel - fabulous food and great service. Rooms are clean. The staff moved my luggage from room to room as I was unsure actual check out date. Location is great.

No impressed, long term customer

Open view was great! The bed was great. TV was horrible there was nothing but new stations to watch and the smart TV wont let you Bluetooth your phone to the TV just your music. Very frustrating!

Booked a ocean view originally was not given that but the hotel corrected it right away, however the the suite with the kitchenette i booked the first room was proper with a stove/over. However the second with the proper view was not and had a hot plate, no stove/oven. Not the biggest deal but the size difference of the rooms was a significant difference. Ocen view was much smaller then the original room I was given and when I booked online the prices had actually gone down the day I arrived even though I booked the day before by Apox $50 less per room. Very disappointing when that happens.

Great harborfront hotel with lovely views

Great hotel on the waterfront with reasonable prices and lovely views of the harbor. The room was spotless, the bathroom was pristine, the bed was very comfortable and the sheets were high quality. We had fun watching the action in the harbor as well as horse drawn carriages that would stroll by our window in the evening. We enjoyed the updated minimalist decor in the room with laminate flooring and beautiful photographs on the walls. The front desk staff member named Eshu went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We were able to get early check-in and some chocolate, nuts and sparkling water to honor a birthday. Parking in their free lot was perfect. This hotel is well situated to have high tea at the Empress, shop, do whale watching or explore the waterfront trails. We loved it and highly recommend staying here!!

Awesome location if you don’t mind uncomfortable beds and a not super clean bathroom.

Location was awesome, staff was friendly and quick to help when our breaker flipped and when we needed an umbrella to walk to a formal wedding at the Empress. Room was big, attached restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. We appreciated the 15% off coupon the hotel staff gave us for the restaurant.

Our bathroom was not clean. Someone else’s fingernail was on the counter when we got there, and the shower was so clogged with hair that after a minute or two of the water running, you were standing in a couple inches of water. My husband unclogged the drain with his hand and it was full of other people’s hair. So gross. The bed was not comfortable.
