Lovely period inn with a great location. Breakfast was distinctive and delicious with a variety of breakfast cream tea options. Megan was a great service. Emmerson was very pleasant on arrival. Room was quaint with a separate living area. Parking was easy. Overall an excellent stay.

I was in town for the big car show. I picked the Pendray because I figured my wife would like it, she loved it. The staff was great, and the included tiered breakfast were delicious. The Pendray is an old mansion, and didn’t have air conditioning, so take that into account in the summer. We live in an old house, so that wasn’t really an issue for us.

The location and breakfast were great. The room though was hot and stuffy. There was no air conditioning and no screens to allow opening the windows so it was very uncomfortable at night. We did try to open the windows however we had some wasps come in so had to close them.

Gorgeous Property, But Loretto’s Loft Is Not Worth the Price Pendray Inn is a beautiful historic building with lush gardens and a lovely dining experience overlooking the harbor. Staff were kind, and most rooms seem charming. However, I had a deeply disappointing experience staying in the “Comfort Double Room,” also called Loretto’s Loft. This room is a converted attic space split almost 1:1 between bathroom and bedroom. The result is a long, narrow bedroom with a sharply sloped ceiling, making nearly half the space unusable. When lying in bed, your head is less than 20 cm from the ceiling. It feels cramped, awkward, and easy to bump your head even while seated. There’s also no proper desk or table — a basic expectation in a room costing over $300–$400 per night. The bathroom is surprisingly large, making the imbalance even more noticeable. Worse, the furnishings feel cheap and out of place compared to the inn’s otherwise elegant decor. The mattress was one of the least comfortable I’ve ever slept on in a Canadian hotel — not even close to the standard you’d expect for this price range. Overall, this room feels like a hastily added space, not in line with the rest of the inn. It simply does not justify the price.

Wonderful staff. Ren answered all our questions while we had a whiskey tasting. He made us feel right at home. Room was very comfortable and lovely. The Pendray is in a great location, walking distance to lots of sites. Breakfast is luxury, a mini afternoon tea every morning is a special treat. Room was nice and spacious. Only hiccup was our parking was occupied and the keys to our room did not work for over an hour. Hotel did not do anything until hotels.com mentioned something but then they did try to make up for the mishap(although it was on our last day)

It was such a nice stay for our first time in Victoria. The staff was always so friendly and serviceable. We really enjoyed having a tiered breakfast every morning, and now have become tea lovers! The inn is in a great location that makes it easy to walk to and from places in the bay and is a reasonable distance from Chinatown and downtown. The only downside of our stay was that there was construction going on outside our window on our last full day. It was a bit noisy and woke us up but overall we were able to overlook it.

The front desk gentleman was very friendly and welcoming, providing excellent service upon our arrival. However, our experience at breakfast the next morning was disappointing. The staff member dressed in all black and wearing a black mask had a terrible attitude. They did not introduce anything to us and treated us with clear discrimination, speaking to us in a sharp and unfriendly manner while treating the two nearby tables of white guests completely differently. The contrast was shocking and unacceptable. Additionally, the hotel room was very small, the facilities were outdated, and the soundproofing was poor. We could hear noise from other rooms and the hallway, which made it difficult to rest. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
